Re(4): WHat would you do? NSXT, If he can have any two it makes it more dangerous' What' You call and win you've just gained 12bb's to your stack, and you lose you're still around, and still hve FE. having 129k isn't all that bad. And going against two live cards is not a race.. it's like 65/35. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(7): WHat would you do? CALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL (well, push) "129k you win isn't as important as the 129k you lose..." It doesn thave to be! Because you win the 129k considerably more often than you lose it, PLUS you're winning the blinds/antes too, it's not an even gamble, you're risking 123k here to win 142k 60% of the time. Re(1): If you had $10,000....... no way i'm picking a guy that shows up 2 hours late to every event. I'm taking either Raymer or Harrington. Definitely not taking a cash game player (Ivey, Juanda, etc ) because they'll probably have a lower ROI in these (though, maybe a higher hourly rate). Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(11): VERY good article by Matt Matros woah woah, calm down, Paul can be wrong here too... i think he takes this idea too far. (He says he'll take an even 50/50 in a blind v. blind situation, on the first hand) But his opportunity cost is far greater than most other huumans (freaking millionaires) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Calling All-ins with AKo to get a big stack....hand analysis If you're positive he has TT, theres enough money from the blinds and antes to make ths right. Especially since you're getting low. The fact is, he pushes w/ way more than TT there. Easy call/push. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(8): VERY good article by Matt Matros ok, i asked you.. please elaborate on what you just wrote. It wasn't math, you just wrote a little about "if your chances are 1/x further incentive etc etc" why is it further incentive.. what's the rest' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): VERY good article by Matt Matros I think the situation with Phil Ivey is that, it would be good for him to call in this situation, only for $/hr. I don't think his EV would double here (though it very well might) but sincee the cash games he could be playing are so huge, him doubling up early is more important than sticking around and very slowly accumulating. Re(6): VERY good article by Matt Matros Sorry if i come off as a dickhead Jayshark, i really don't mean to,but you reply to a lot of the posts i'm interested in, with opposite view points, and you cite math and such, but never show it.. Explain what you're talking about, because i dont think it's true. (And the link i posted, ,has the math that defends my point). Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): VERY good article by Matt Matros Well frankly, Dan Harrington is one of the best players. You (and I, and most others) are not. You have to find your own EV in this tournament, and find out for yourself, ,where this breaks even to call. This boils down to how much your EV changes from a double up. Re(1): VERY good article by Matt Matros i guess it's wierd to cross post from a different forum... but theres a good discussion going on here; #Post3906180 Theres been lots of math and theory talked about.. to sum up what i think: 53/46 isn't quite enough for me, i think from a purely EV standpoint, around 55% equity is what i need, (change AKs to AKo). But in reality, i'd probably fold all by a 60% edge, beecause the WSOP is cool as hell. :-p Posted in: Poker Discussion |
