Re(1): How do I overcome my too tight play late? I highly recommend PXF for this. Videos by Pearljammer, Apestyles and Rizen, among others, are excellent. What I've been learning: Really good players will open raise with a greater range of hands when conditions allow them to profitably steal with greater frequency. This depends on absolute chip stacks (in relation to blinds and antes), relative chip stacks (in relation to other players), position, table image, the tendencies of other players, etc. It's not at all a simple formula. And it's also not a question of being on or off, loose or tight. Instead, it's really a sliding scale based on ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): BeL0WaB0Ve It seems that the P5's community is sharply divided over this incident. People are either wholly behind MC, or they are wholly behind Below. But the fact of the matter is that neither person is completely without fault. In Below's case, I personally do not find his remark to be that offensive. Nevertheless, I'm sure everyone can agree that there must be some boundaries. Often, there will be disagreements as to whether a particular comment has crossed the line. But Below should have known that some people might find his comment offensive and hurtful As for MC, the main problem that people ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Suggestion Is there any interest in getting a collection together to take out a full page ad in The New York Times (or other major news publication)' I thought I saw a post on P5's a couple of months ago that suggested the same thing. The cost will be high for sure, but I think it may be well worth it. I, for one, would be willing to contribute to this project (even though more than half my bankroll is stuck in Neteller). Even if it doesn't have any affect on the legality of online poker, it would make me feel really good to know that my voice is heard. We could put together a committe responsible ... PPA Membership Anyone have any idea what percentage of online poker players belong to the PPA' If it's significantly less than 100%, perhaps we can help to increase membership by asking other players at the tables, through the chat box, to join. I don't know if this is worthwhile, but I thought I'd bring it up. I started doing this recently. If some of the name-recognized players here were to take up the cause in this way, it might actually accomplish something. fierce Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): I want a student (Edited: Sorry If I don't respond to PM's) Hey Taylor, I'm a 38 year old attorney from New York. With work and everything else, I don't have as much time to play and work on my game as some other P5s members. But I try to put in a solid 20 hours every week. I have a disciplined approach that includes reading books, studying hand histories and viewing online training sites (I am a Cardrunners member under a different username). Like many successful MTT players, I've had very mixed results in online cash games. I strongly believe that I have all of the necessary aptitudes and characteristics to become a strong cash game player, and I ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
