Re:Help me reach my goal.
Yeah after reading some tips here and else where my winnings have increased slightly. I am probably going to sign up with card runners next week, are there any other specific readings that were not mentioned'

Re:Help me reach my goal.
I agree with claim of being self-critical as I am my own worst enemy most days. My goal is simple: I figure that if I can build up to about 1 grand (not that I have meet that exactly) I can definitely develop the skills neccesary to compete in NLHE. I would also like to attend some of the live tournaments in AC as I get can get there in about 30 minutes. I know that players put in a lot of hard work. I am semi-employed as of right which leaves a lot of free time on my hands. My job search has turned up nill so far, so I have plenty of time to learn what to do, and more importantly what not ...

Re:Help me reach my goal.
I played CS 1.6 for several CAL I teams, winning a few tournaments (I put "pro" in quotes because I really didn't make any money). I also played for top teams in Natural Selection as well as recently Enemy Territory Quake Wars where I played for team 20ID . I was going to play CoD4 for them, but I don't have the time to dedicate that they require, I've played well in that game in pick up games and a few scrims, but no matches.

Re:Help me reach my goal.
Getting chicks isn't an issue, I'm practically married. I was hoping that I could get some sound advice as this site was recommended to me from a friend. Posts like "Quit Poker" aren't of much value and I would appreciate if people would stay on the topic at hand, or not bother posting. I'm slightly disappointed that I even have to mention that.

Help me reach my goal.
Hey all, I am relatively new to these forums, but I enjoy reading a lot of the posts, I find that to be full of good information. My buddy Tigersmith said this was definitely the place to go for poker chat. A little bit about myself: I am 25 from Ocean County, NJ. I enjoy playing guitar (playing for 13 years now) and I also enjoy playing competitive first person shooters on the internet (made it to the "pro" level at one point), and playing basketball. One of my other hobbies is gambling, particularly Craps and Black Jack. The problems with these games that if played in the long ...

Re:Hey I am new here
Yeah I read Harrington #1, but I am probably going to read it again. I'm pretty good with Poker theory, I would just like to be able to calculate odds better without having to resort to one of the odds calculator programs

Hey I am new here
Hey all, I just started playing poker about a month ago, and I do enjoy it very much. I have experienced moderate success at the very low stakes games. I am alright at reading people, but I need to improve on calculating the odds and outs. Could anyone recommend some reading' Thanks, I appreciate it.
