Re:5-10 NL hold em cash game big hand analysis, what would you have done?
Thanks guys. No significant body language from the deep stacks in seats 2 or 4 except that I had to say I was pretty sure the 4 set was calling, priced in on a big flush draw. The 2 seat did not give me much except that he just called with 2 players left to act and a dangerous board. The 1 seat could have a made straight but with the money potential in the pot I already decided not to fold. I figured that with a made straight or a set that either the 2 seat or 4 seat had to reraise but they didn’t. For this reason my read was that the 2 and 4 seat were both on draws and I wanted to make it ...

5-10 NL hold em cash game big hand analysis, what would you have done?
5-10 no limit holdem is the game. There is lots of action at the table and a wide range of abilities. Table is loose and moderately aggressive. 5 players limp into the pot and I look down at 66 from the small blind in seat 8. I raise to 30 looking to build the pot preflop in hopes of hitting a set. The BB and seat 1 call, seat 2 raises to 65. 5 players call including myself to see a flop of 9d, 6c, 3h. I’m first to act and check my set in hopes of a big check raise, but all 5 players check behind. The turn is the 5h putting multiple straights and a flush draw on the table. I bet out for 175. ...

Player eliminated for putting chips in his pocket
Playing the the WSOP $1500 NLH event yesterday. A half hour into the tournament a German player who only spoke broken English fills an empty seat at our table. He showed up with his arms full of magazines, a backpack, etc. and after unloading he reached into his pocket and pulled out his tournament chips. Unfortunately a floorman spotted this and called his supervisor who called the tournament director. He was given no quarter, his chips were removed from play and he was eliminated. This in spite of everyone at our table asking for them to give him just a warning. Let this be a lesson. Keep ...

Jeffrey Lisandro a Class Act
Decided to get dinner with my girlfriend last night at Noodles in Bellagio while waiting for the nightly $1080 NL hold em tourney to start. I noticed Jeffrey Lisandro alone in line behind us so when our table was available I walked back and asked Jeffrey if he wanted to join us. He accepted and it was a real treat. We had a great dinner filled with great stories of last year’s WSOP and this year’s. I’m sure everyone knows he’s got 1 bracelet and a 2nd already this year and is 2nd on the points POY leaderboard. Before dinner last night I believe he was first. He shared a lot of info about the ...

Re(2): WAGER HELP: Definition of "The Nuts"
KQ is the nutz here if you have KQ or if you had a king or know someone esle had a K. Or for arguments sake a card was exposed and burnt earlier and it was a king. The nutz does not have to be the best possible hand that could be made using all 52 cards. The nutz can vary for the same board based on what players hold. I triple dog dare you to say that KQ is not the STONE COLD nutz! Don't we have anything better to talk about'

Re(5): 4 way Chop, who got the best deal and who got screwed
You’d think I’d get the hand right after hearing the table talk about it for a half hour. Sorry, the turn was the 5d. I remember saying to myself on the flop “gut shot and a flush draw” before checking. And there’s no way he checks top, top there with 4 players in the pot. He hit the set on the flop and slow played it. My bad, sorry. How does that change your opinion. By the way, I agree, I would have bet an open ended straight flush draw on the flop.

Re(2): 4 way Chop, who got the best deal and who got screwed
Very interesting hand occurred at the beginning of this 16 person tournament between myself and player number 2 above. Perhaps some of you may say he is the better player after I describe it. I'm dealt 78s in diamonds in the big blind 8 handed. Blinds are $100 SB and $100 BB. all players have about $4000 in chips as it is early in the tournament. Player 2 limps from early position with 2 other callers. 4 players see the flop of 5d, 6d, Ts. It checks around and the turn is the Td giving me the flush. I lead bet $500 into a $400 pot hoping to protect myself from a single bigger diamond and/or ...

Re(2): 4 way Chop, who got the best deal and who got screwed
Great discussion. Appreciate the opinions. I'd love to hear more thoughts on who got the best and worst deals here. By the way, I wa player 1. How I looked at it. 1) Players 1 and 2 are getting better than 2nd place money so that have to win outright to do better in the no deal situation. 2) If a small stack doubles through a big then the big is now small stack and could end up with 4th (huge difference in cash). 3) Everyone knows that the small stacks get screwed in a straight chip chop. Small stacks should always ask for more unless the blinds/skill levels are a big in favor of the big ...

Sorry for the typo. There were 4 players left. The blinds were at $1000 SB and $2000 BB, set to go to $1500 SB and $3000 BB in about 5 minutes. They would have to 2/4, 3/6, 4/8, and 5/10 form there every 15 minutes.

WSOP Updates and Hole cam
What's up with the WSOP updats sharing hole cards just minutes after the hand is over' Isn't this going a bit too far' Opponents can get accurate information on player's moves while still playing the final table. I think they should wait until the tournament is over. Thoughts'

Re(2): Collecting Winnings at WSOP as a Staked Player
The player will fill out IRS form 5754 and include all entities receiving portions along with the exact amounts. Social security or tax ID numbers are required for each. I called Harrah's and the WSOP desk to ask about the Canadian situation but noone from the WSOP has returned my call. Canadians have a "Social Insurance Number", but I think that unless the Canadian has a US ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number) then 30% of his portion will be withheld. He can get some or all of this back by following up with the proper income tax filings. Can anyone else comment on the Canadian ...

Does any team feel they came close to catching team apestyles and would like to go through a point count' If yes, team captain please feel free to post your team's total so we can offfically wrap this up. Personally I'd like to say that I enjoyed the competition very much both last April and this April. Very talented players on all teams and class acts everyone. Many very impressive wins were achieved across teams during the competition including several very big scores by team cheese. Than you for allowing me to participate! This thread gives me concern for the future of online poker. Penalties for cheating must be severe. Whoever said the integrity of the site was on the line was absolutely correct. I would go further to say that the integrity of online poker is on the line. Even the simple publication of this thread has damaged the reputation of online poker in general and given new players reading it strong reasons never to start playing online. Your actions have damaged the growth prospects of this industry and because of this I say cheaters like those mentioned in this thread have not only stolen from those ...

Congratualtions New! On standings, last year we had a website that was updated every couple days. I forget which guy did it but it was awesome. It made all the difference and made the competition very enjoyable. So is the plan this time to send scores to captain's once per week and then they send them in and someone consolidates it into a thread' I've only done this once before but can say that the website was a great way to do it. Here is the old link, still works, /

Re(9): ****OFFICIAL TLB APRIL CONTEST DRAFT*****
Hmm, I'm wondering. Ownership of this TLB contest was tossed back and forth a few times early on. Who is the overall owner/decision maker' A few folks have asked to solidify the rules/payouts, but perhaps noone feels they own this task. I think one of the originators should take a shot at this soon because there may be debate. Agreeing on these prior to the start is the best way to avoid hard feelings. JMHO
