Re(2): crop circles, ufo's, hauntings, and 9/11 conspiracy...
pretty sure taht the fact that we are posting about the topic of conspiracy theories negates that statement. Whether or not they are true is a different matter.

I cant believe im reading this. You all do know that Rooney is going to be fit right' England is a much better team than the US, but they are just as good at beating themselves as they are at beating everyone else. My money says England goes further than US, I have 'em losing in the Semis to Brazil.

Re(1): Cash game: What Would You Do?
Yah, the dude is overplaying his AA or KK, he overbet becuase he doesnt want you to suck out on him. If he had a set he would not make a drastic overbet like that becuase he would likely only get called by the nut straight. *edit* i failed to see there are two other players in instead of just one, I might fold here, but it still looks to me like the all in raiser only has AA or KK, the guy who keeps calling I would be worried about

Re(1): Typical Range of Hands for desperate Late Position Pusher?
I would push with any of those hands except for A2-A9, and I doubt i would push with K9. ur just more likely to be dominated by a caller when you push with a weak ace or king.

Re(3): Loose calling in loose live LHE
drawing hands go way up in value, big pairs like KK and AA go WAY down, unless you hit a set, dont fall in love with ur hand until it is actually a made hand, straights and flushes are what you want, and you can draw much more, becuase the pots are so big and you will be instacalled by anyone with any kind of hand.

I wasnt lecturing, just giving my opinion, which happens to have a basis in science and logic (not saying yours isnt logical, but certainly not scientific). Besides, you're 24 years old, 5 years old than I am, and your pearls of wisdom are somehow worth more' Before you look at my age and discount my opinions solely on that basis, at least take into account that I may know at least as much on the topic, both from research and personal experience, as you do. Oh... and... time is relative, man, now go rip a bong bowl and ponder that for a while (I smoke herb too).

Re(16): How good was Stu Unger?
I'd be happy to let you know the names of some great addiction specialists when that daily alcohol use turns into full blown addiction (daily drinking is generally tought of as at least a drinking problem, but hey you could stop at any time) I dont mean to attack you, but people who are addicted to substances need our sympathy and support, otherwise they wont get better. You dont have to sympathize with them, but dont attack them, especially when your drug of choice (alcohol as it sounds) happens to be acceptable only becuase it is legal, not becuase it is less dangerous.

Re(14): How good was Stu Unger?
Amen. It'd be nice, Wacokid, if you would research the PHYSIOLOGY of addiction before spouting your ignorant vomit all over the boards. Ungar was addicted to cocain which is extremely physically as well as psychologically addicting. That said I see what you are getting at as it can certainly be used as an excuse by people who do not suffer addiction. Dont make blanket statements, and especially not ignorant blanket statements.

Re(5): Limit Hold em
That isnt a very good argument for folding IMO. Also if there are 5 or 6 players in the pot the amount of money they put in to draw at those hands makes up for the increased likelyhood of them drawing out on you. The deal is that in Limit HE the only implied odds you have is for 1 or maybe two extra bets if you hit ur set. Its important to only play a pot as a dog if you are getting the odds for it in limit, whereas in NL you can call a raise with a small pair or suited connectors becuase you can take his whole stack, not so in limit.

Re(2): Limit Hold em
you cant really set mine in limit the way you can in no limit, implied odds always are very low in limit HE, as with your monster hands you really only expect to get 1 or 2 extra bets out of your opponent, as opposed to his whole stack. So its important to enter a pot knowingly with the worst hands ONLY when you have correct odds, or at least close to correct.

Re(1): Rake on Party Poker
What stud game on party are you talking about where people fold on third street' The thought process of the average stud player on party goes something like this: "Instead of getting two cards like I do in holdem, i get three, so EVERY SINGLE hand is worth playing. Not only that, but I am most likely never beat, so i'd better just keep check calling till the end, then value bet my two small pair when I hit on the river" I LOVE STUD DONKS

Re(1): what do you do when running bad?
Lose money. Seriously though when I'm really running bad and in danger of tilting off a substantial portion of my bankroll, I go to the biggest play money games on party and own them. I try to play real money again later that day or the next day and if its the same story, repeat step 1.

Re(1): Someone please explain how you beat this game
I play a lot of small limit games live like the one you just described. You have to change your playing style if you want to murder the game like you feel you should. Playing super solid is going to be break even or slightly profitable over the long term, but heres how to kill the game. The rank of a pocket pair doesnt matter nearly as much, becuase you are not going to thin the field, what you want to do is limp with almost any PP (Aces and Kings excluded), and never fall iin love with a PP unless you hit a set. Other than pocket pairs you want to play hands that can make the nuts and that ...

Re(1): Whose right me or Dad?
Remind your dad that you and he are not the same person, and that you have shown NO tendencies towards gambling addiction yet. An addiction is usually defined by consequences, whether they are monetary, or have to do with family, friends or intimate relationships, or work or school. From what you posted it sounds like you have no consequences yet, so no addiction. I think this is more about your dad than it is about you, he's worried that you will go down the same road he did, and he doesnt want to see you go through that kind of pain. Just remind him that you are an adult, it is your choice ...
