Re(1): 25/50 nl hand, anyone ever fold here? Maybe I'm just a lot tighter than most but I believe the first mistake is calling the reraise preflop. Second mistake would be not raising at least for a feel after the flop in which he probably would have called. However, you could have taken it down on the turn with a large continuation bet but seeing how you called the reraise and checked the flop and flat called the turn you must have had him on KK or AA. On the river there is no way to lay this down however this mistake could have been avoided if not probably won. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): Foxwoods 1/2 NL Buy-in Raised? Actually, what's the problem with someone raising $50' I play 1/2 and 2/3 live every day and find that $100 is the perfect starting stack. What the hell are you talking about, "actually play poker", sounds like you need to be at a limit game. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Anyone here had ringworm?? I wrestled and did judo for 12+ years and had it many times. Ringworm is highly contagious but extremely weak and painless. However, if you want to rid of it right away(which you have to when wrestling), take a small dab of bleach and rub it. Be extremely careful when doing that. The only other way to "kill" it right away is to burn it off with a lighter. Other than that stick with ringworm treatment cream. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(2): Doing a college project on the online gambling ban - need a class speaker Location would help. This is an awesome deal you're doing and good luck. Since poker is a passion of yours, you'll do well. Probably should email a bunch of the PPA and try to get the phone conference deal going. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): I lost 6k today at 3/6 NL... TC has an excellent point. My brother is attending a good school but I'd rather see him play poker than be in a drunken state from partying all the damn time. As long as the person can hold a job and contribute something positive to society, then what's the problem' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

A Good Read? I've just begun to really venture into the depths of Omaha Hi Lo and love it. However, I would love to find a book or an article that outlines key hands, to do/not to do situations, and more. If anyone has any good suggestions, let me know. Thanks. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): A way to decrease variance The reason you have heard it being done before is beause that's what people in the Crew do. A group of friends will generally set something like that up. I don't think any random person online would be willing to do that. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): To be successful To be successful in anything you need to have patience. Your successful players will tell you that they beat at the door of profit for a long time before they finally developed a winning game. Lucky for us, unlike the Doyle's and Hellmuth's(older players), we have online poker which gives us 5 years experince in a 1/5 of the time. However it's still proven for every winner out there is a lot of losers and 9/10 of poker players are losing. So patience is just a piece of what you'll need to become successful. Re(1): Live Poker Actually in live it isn't different. Disregarding the BR rules just because it's "live" will only lead to being broke 95% of the time. Sure you can have a great run but the whole reason you need that kind of BR is because the variance over the long run is no different live than online. In fact it's much harder to recover from a $1000 loss in a live game than online for several reasons. First is that you can only play one table at a time to try and recover which leads into the second reason which is that live you play a hell of a lot less hands than online. Since playing live is my second ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): I tried my best to get over PokerStars... Truth be told is the obvious, bad beats and bad players are EVERYWHERE. I play 75% of the time live here in Tahoe and in Reno. A bad beat that sounds a lot like something you'll see online, I look down at pocket queens on the button in a 2/3 NL game, the guy under the gun raises to $15 and a gent in middle position that only raises with AA, KK, QQ, and JJ preflop reraises to $30 dollars, the guy next to me calls the $30 and I contemplate the raise but simply called wanting to see a flop knowing what I knew about my raiser and raising to $60 would committ my hand to the pot. Flop comes out AQJ ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): I tried my best to get over PokerStars... Lowpro - that is a worthy loss seeing how you played that raise out of position with a very marginal hand. Sure you got rivered and mayb eyou had a "read" but I still can't respect your play. AwwNutz - for the first time in 2 years I went back to Stars to check things out. After 2 days I am already withdrawing and going back to fulltilt and bodog. I'll take bodog's server crashes any day over stars. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): beggining semi-pro brag post Sosa, Don't post a brag post of ANY kind and not expect scrutiny. People are jealous and you're living a poker reality that most can't fathom since 95% or more players are long run losers. Ignore the flamers and good luck. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): Why I would rather play Good players than Phish I would bet almost anyone that if tracked by pokertracker you will find that your good hands are holding up more often than not. JJ will in the long long run hold up in a showdown against A6 a LOT. Worrying about one or two beats will only cause you to forget the reason a good player is a good player, because in the long run they will win. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(1): $3/$6 NL hand vs Rafe Furst I would have never played the the hand from the get-go. When you play an ace rag out of position your bound to get the shag. If you look at the betting you can tell he was inviting you to fold or raise meaning he wasn't worried too much. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Graps Article I haven't posted all too much on this site but this time I can't help it. I must commend Graps on an article that without a doubt should grace the covers of Cardplayer or Bluff mag. Not only inspiring but extremely good advice. Thanks Graps for taking the time to write that article, they should pay you for it. Thanks to P5's for providing us with these articles. The Best Way To Deposit Using Cash? I'm not a fan of banks therefor I do not currently have a checking account. So my question is, what would be the best recommended way to deposit online. I noticed the ability to deposit using western union and money gram on certain sites but is an easier way available, prepaid credit cards maybe. If prepaid cards work, what cards work on what sites. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
