Full Tilt and Pokerstars Domains Seized
This is a great plan and laid out nicely. Was thinking about this idea as well as someone setting up mass email bomb / link to all the offices. We are the technologically savy generation. I bet someone could set up a mass email list to the doj, state of NY, and all the reps. (I dont know how but someone should set this up). I live in MA and I know when they tried to outlaw online in this state this was done and was very successful as apparently reprentatives pulled the plug quickly on that provision in the law due to the high volume. i agree but if previous years around satties says anything as well as a preview of what is already listed this year im sad to say you will likely be very disappointed - would be nice to see the same 6 max run but not as hyper, just turbo or regular - but hey we can dream

Discussion Thread for Petition to Change Sunday Million Structure
defintely needs some work for the premiere tourny of the week. Yes we do not want it to be ridiculously long in general but overall it feels like it plays more like a turbo. I went out with slightly under average stack in like 14000 with about 13 bbs left. I checked again later and with 600 people left or so the avarage stack was just over 10bbs. HOw can a major tourny like that have a avg stack at 10-15bbs even before the money has been reached. Im not saying making major changes but that is just silly for that to happen.

Might get flamed for this post but whatever. As the title says is it becoming a gimmick and nothing more. Lets look at recent additions in last few months or more: Tilt Rush poker (cash and tourny), multi entry tournys, turbo central, knockouts, cash out tournys Stars Knockouts, saturation of hyper turbos in both satties and other tournys, now 5050s, and a whole host of cash game variants Im sure im missing others but where is all this going' Is it good for the game this overreliance on speed and mass everything - shows that the attention span of people in society is certainly ...

will stars 5050s be a failure?
dont know how to set up an actual poll to click on so if someone does please repost this. Question is will the new 5050s fail or not be as successful as the dons or will don players simply migrate over. I usually have afew dons going in background just for easy cash but not sure i can do the same with the 5050s. All i know is right now at the high and medium levels more dons are running and being registered for than the 5050s. I know people are mass tabling them before they are gone but is this or should this be a sign to stars'

PokerStars will no longer offer Double or Nothing Sit & Go’s, Effective February 15th
very sad change - Dons were fun had their own strategty to exploit if u had a clue. Ive even open folded kk in them on the bubble - wish they could keep both. When I first saw the 5050 thought cool but looked carefully and said no - stars since u are doing this at least improve the rake on the 5050s - also need to improve the structure - really 3 minute blinds with the weird blind structure - come on - also ironic if you look right now more dons are running than 5050s - too bad cant keep both - especially since ive been killing the dons - guess I need to switch over hey while making changes ...

thoughts on stars new fifty50 sngs?
just noticed these tonight - not sure what i think - basically a don with a different structure and slower blinds - slightly higher buyin but you also get money back for every 100 chips you also have left in your stack - changes the play a little. what do people think' worth it - will they replace the other dons' comments

thx for the math help - struggled with it - but hmm with that percent drop almost makes them appealing seeing that with my small sample (about 150 or so after subracting 3rds - in other words basically a free replay) won about 45% - hmm maybe time to change my mind

Regarding Change in $88 Hyper-Turbos to $74 Hyper-Turbos
while i try to avoid these like the plague because i think they have contributed to hurting stars satty system even i support this change back. This change changes the whole strategy of the hyperturbos. With the variance in these it really makes one wonder why so popular when you still have to win over 40% of time just to break even. If stars can make this change to avoid collusion fine but at same time they can add these same sng in turbo and regualr format also

skill - yes in order to know push / fold / call ranges - but anyone can study and learn that over time - true poker skill as meant to be NO WAY! - too much of the game has been sped up with a neglect of a lot of post flop play - that is the true skill of the game

strategy - dont play them reguarly - any game that you have to win at over 40% of time just to break even is not poker just gambling - these are a huge rake trap unless you put in rediculous volume like jorge who benefits from the vpps and fpps not the game - these have killef all the other satties so

i used to feel the same thing so i started also keeping stats not just of me but everyone else's all ins as well - so to say that over long run it really does even out - i used to be under 50% winning des[ite getting it as fav 57% of time overall. Just for record if you add up the possible percentages the best hand should win only 66% of time. I created categories for me of 80-20 fav, 20-80 dog, 70-30 etc etc - oviously there are many possibilities or slight differences such as 52-48, 73-37 etc. but figured the ranges were good enough to tell - overall ive made a comeback statstically - ...

so always heard this is such a positive ev tourny for the above average player. So in reality how +ev is it if one is truly an above average player given the number of micro satty players in the tourny' Is it worth it it to play it reguarly even if outside your average buyin range if you can particuarly satellite in for equal to or less than your avg buyin range' Thoughts' I used to satty in a lot and take the t$ only playng a few times only going sorta deep once. Petiton for stars to run some real satelites to the PCA
or run mtt satellites that go 27-82-215-700-2100 - preferrably non turbo and good structures - stars had this format for first scoop and ive been begging for it to come back but to no avail - maybe some noise makes it happen - in fact can we just make noise to fix the satellite system in general for all tournys by offering more than just hypers - or at least offer the same structure buyins they have for the hypers but also in regular and turbo formats - 1 time

Petition - Make Turbo Night a weekly thing
im gonna get so flamed for this but whatever - no never do this stars - knowing only push fold is not poker and the over saturation of turbos (particuarly hypers) pull fish away from where the true skill of poker is - if you dont have time for the big tournys play the capped or 180s. there are enough turbos in the schedule as is and there is no need for more - if anything fix your satellite options cause they are in need of significant overhaul before adding anymore turbos for the record i do believe turbos involve skill so please do not bother stating it - its just not the full skill of the ...

thx for responses so far everyone - keep them coming i really appreciate the advice - been stuck for awhile in what direction i want to start playing in poker as I used to focus on mostly satellites but feel just not a good area to play anymore as the influx of hyper turbos have made grinding satties so nev ev for me - so far so good with hu - mostly sngs and i did read moshmans sng book was awesome and helped my mtt game as well - anyhow thx again

its no longer pokerstars its turbo or hyperturbo stars - hopefully new shcedule when its out officially a lot better than so far - its clear stars turbo tourny saturation is their response to tilts rush poker - its too bad cause too many turbos really takes the skill out of poker )yes i know there is skill in turbos) but would not consider it a true poker skill - rather than asking for more turbos the movement push needs to have better structures and more regular time tournys - the way it looks for stars in next year it will be turbo or hyper or too bad - already killed their satellite system ...

you are assuming people are buying stright in to the 700 or would do a satty stright into the 2100 - id bet most dont would work their way through a mtt step format- if you offer step 6 as an option and have mtt steps that either use tickets or t$ working your way through bet there would be a decent amount of people - stars ran this for the first scoop series and it went relatviely well. i think the 700 was on sat and the 2100 was on sunday with the other rounds running nightly

Yes im biased no denying that - would love to try to sat in but im honest would love a better chance odds wise to help myself - a 700 package offers one seat for approximately every 24 in tourny, while a 2100 satellite makes it 1 for 8 - much better odds for a satellite. Given the fact that step 6 is 2100 for seat doesnt make sense that the major mtt is not the same buyin - im not saying get rid of the other sats but most of those offer one seat per 100 something runners - i get it big live tourny and should be hard but still how about this change - obviously step 6 tix could be used - as for ...

so as usual playing grinding on a sunday - but seriously ive seen quads already 4 times today (had it once) - played abpit 15 dons tofay so not a huge volume - seems like i can never go a session without seeing quads at least once per day and i dont put in huge volume - so what are the odds of it

well i'll give my response now since it is sunday and hope to get the discussion back on track and off of ftops for awhile - Tourny selection: A - lots of variety, not too many gimmick tournys Structure: A+ - great job - nice and deep, never felt like push and pray even when on shorter side - never felt rushed Payout: B - can't satisy everyone Time of tournys - B - can't satisfy everyone around the world - some tournys I looked into seemed to finsh so late or went really long - but that is sacrifice for great structures - liked someone else's idea of also having at least a 4th tourny every ...
