I think the implications of it being a "white v. black thing" stem more from how the non-white community was being treated by the police from the late eighties to mid nineties than just the beating of Rodney King alone. this was essentially one of the first "viral videos" and we know now that the video doesn't show how the whole situation went down (the chase, the bull rush). unfortunately the video that played was 4 white cops beating an obviously defenseless black man. Tribeca FF Review - Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest
nice review. pretty excited to catch this when it's out. I think the album Beats, Rhymes and Life gets overlooked because The Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders are sooooooo good. BRL is a very solid album

what's a parking ticket cost in your town?
walked out and realized I had a parking ticket on my car this afternoon after eating lunch. totally my fault, I didn't plug the meter as I should have. gg pot so I check the damage and apparently here in Minneapolis, a parking ticket now costs you $42!!! 5 years ago I was paying $20. anyone else notice a rise in their parking ticket costs over the last few years'

this happened to a buddy of mine while he was playing club hockey in college. After a stoppage midgame, he goes to take the face off. as he's standing in the circle, he hears this girl's voice calling his name. He's in a city that he's sure there are some people he knows so he looks up into the stands. The moment he does this, the entire section stands up and yells "YOU SUCK!!!!!"

how do you clean your . . .
pipes' I was cleaning out my bowl last night and was wondering how you guys do it' What products and methods do you use' I use rubbing alcohol, q-tips, a paper clip and hot water. I usually let it sit in the rubbing alcohol for 10-15 min, then go to town on it with a q-tip. I'll rinse it with hot water, and get most of the shit outta there, then scrap as much as I can off with a paperclip, run some more alcohol through it and let it dry. My piece is pretty big and there's some hard to get spots, so I don't always get all the crap outta there. Any tips on how to get it spotless'

This. And anytime you get a chance to see The Roots, GO!!!!! They tear that shit up!!! On the whole though, I've found that if you're not very interested in the rapper/group they can be pretty lame. Unlike a concert with actual musicians, it's pretty tough to appreciate a guy or a couple guys rappin things you have a tough time understanding. However, if the secksin is good, or you anticipate it to be so, it's probably worth it
