Bluray with wifi I'm pretty sure Netflix HD comes in at 720p (I don't believe they publish what it actually is, other than that it isn't 1080p. It might be 1080i, but it looks like 720p imo). As for wireless, I used the built in wireless on my PS3 and didn't have much trouble playing HD content. Since then they've added 5.1 sound so the wireless might not be able to handle it (wireless N should work fine if you have that - both router and receiver). In the end, whatever route you go be prepared to hardwire in the future as streaming content gets higher resolution/better sound. As for players, I'm very happy ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Anyone not have cable at all here? (Like not even CBS, NBC, ABC, etc) +1 to HD antenna. I picked up an indoor one from amazon and agree that the picture is better than I was getting through my cable box (especially noticeable during football season). What you can get depends on your area, but I pick up ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and a bunch of other weird stuff with the closest tower about 30 miles away (relatively flat terrain though). Some of the stuff even comes in 5.1 sound which I was very surprised by. Here's the antenna I picked up: Posted in: Off Topic |

Unknown amount of radioactive trituim realease into Mississippi River!!! As far as radiation goes, Tritium isn't that bad for you. It emits low energy radiation (beta, I believe) which has a very short range in human tissue and isn't very good at ionizing your cells, which is what leads to all the negative effects associated with radiation exposure. Also, I think the half life is on the order of a few weeks, not hundreds/thousands of years like some of the other fission powerplant bi-products. I found this article on a similar situation in MA that might be relevant. Posted in: Off Topic |

math discussion/help needed I'm confused - it looks like you only have 2 complete data points. You can fit those with any curve you want and you should be able to solve them analyitcally as long as they have 2 constants. For example, I tried something that looks like Ax^2+Bx=y, then I plugged in x=1, y=8 to get one equation and x=2, y=14 to get another. Solve the 2 equations for A & B and you get A=-1, B=9 so -x^2+9x=y. Maybe I'm not understanding the problem' Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:SNG Wiz anyone buy using the site transfer option? I purchased through paypal a bit over a year ago - I wouldn't be concerned about how you pay for it, tbh. Over the last year I've lost 2 hard drives and bought a new computer so I had to reinstall 3 times (when you reinstall, it requires a fresh activation). Every time this happened, I emailed my issue to the developer and had my new version activated within 24hrs all 3 times. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:SNGers, ever had a downswing like this? (Graph Link Included) I'm on a similar stretch for the last few months as well, ~2500 games playing 45-man turbos from $3.25 --> $27, though I have a much smaller total sample than you. During the swing I've had coaching, done lots of hand history reviewing, strat discussion, etc... and have plugged some small leaks but am on the same page with all of the big winners for most situations. In the end, I feel like I'm playing better than I was 3+ months ago so hopefully I'll start showing down a little bit better so the results will indicate that. Also, I looked at a lot of the other regs to see ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Pokerstars 45-man turbo sng strategy? Like others have said, it sounds like your push/fold ranges are off - you should almost never find yourself with a 5BB stack unless its directly the results of losing a hand. Also, you can't let the individual results get to you as these are very swingy. I'm currently down ~100 buy-ins over my last 1500 games and almost any other regular at these has at least one of these streaks in their graphs. Also, a push/fold lesson from Jennifear would be an excellent decision if you want to drastically improve you game in just a few hours. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Ridiculously complicated poker math problem revisited. Can any human being solve this?? Isn't this something that can be solved using SNGWiz' Just enter heads up and set your opponents calling/pushing range to 100% then display the %diff vs. hero %call/push and find the peak. Not sure the best approach to doing it analytically though - other than serious elbow grease... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Table Ninja Does table ninja have a priority SNG registering system' For example, say I want to keep 20 tables open of $6.50 and $12 45-mans but I prefer it register to $12 tournaments first. This doesn't matter for filling the initial 20 tables, but when I bust one and am down to 19, I prefer to register for the $12 and not the $6.50. Basically, if I want to play a total of ~50 games while keeping 20 games open at a time, I want to maximize the number $12 tournaments that I play out of 50, but I also want to keep as close to 20 tables open as possible so I don't waste time. Re:45 man bubble spot SNGWiz wasn't able to get the results with the shorty calling, but I think the results are pretty much the same if the short folds, since we aren't on the bubble here anyway. I was pretty surprised by the results, tbh. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:45 man bubble spot This is a pretty gross spot. Even if Villain has been opening super wide, I think you have to assume he's on a tighter range with an all-in in front and a relatively small side pot to steal. Maybe something like 22+, A2+, K8+,Q9+,J10. I don't have pokerstove at work, but I'm guessing 1010 is ~70%+ against this range. Without knowing the payouts to check the ICM, I'm guessing calling is +$eV at a 9 handed table, but close to 0$eV if you were 8 handed. If I remember, I'll run it through SNGWiz when I got home though... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:With Freezing of account will Voluem go down? Not enough info to really be relevant, but in grinding the $6.50 45-man turbos the last two nights, I was never able to get more than 15 tables running at one time (normally I get 20 no problem). Also, the session overall took about ~ 20% longer and games were certainly taking longer to fill. Probably (hopefully) just a fluke. *note: I feel like this effect would have more to do with deposits than cash outs. Most of the players that I want in my tournaments probably don't even know there are cashout problems.* Posted in: Poker Legislation |

Re:400 dollar down swings standard in 6.50 45 man? I think a $400 swing is pretty standard in these - you just need to grind through it and/or move down in stakes to regain your composure. Also, I would recommend picking up SNGWiz if you're serious about grinding these - I think I have a pretty good handle on these and I still find 2-3 push/fold mistakes I've made per tournament, on average. I also find SNGWiz useful when I'm in a slump to confirm that my decision making was +$eV even if I'm leaking money like a sieve. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Recommended buy-ins for 45-mans? I have a ~20% ROI in the $6.50's over ~1000 games and just recently had a -$600 stretch over ~250 games. I keep 130+ buy-ins - it helps me keep a level head through the swings. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
