Bdbeatslayer / APerfectGent sunday 5M Sweat thread
well i watched most the ft and i thought that bbslayer was the most patient guy there, he really didnt do much of anything till it got 4 handed, he tripled up with qq and then was off from there. he didnt seem to feel pressure to make moves or make plays, didnt seem to worry about anyone calling him weak tight or what ever, he simply played a patient solid game, got a hand at right time and took off from there congrats on a great victory bbslayer, and congrats on what i thought was a wonderfully played final table, yeah its nice to go out and dominate and raise every pot, but its not the ...

$55 On Stars - Good spot to resteal?
hmm, well i wouldnt. i want between 18-23 bbs to not b giving pot odds. also, i want to b goin up against one villian, and i want that villian to b in steal position, doesnt appear original raiser is, all that coupled with the fact your readless, nah, not for me. would not b easy to muck 77 there, but i dont have enough stack to flat nor to resteal imo, so muck is what i do

what to do after 4 people limp in before you...and you hold let's say A10off??
well i guess i will b in the minority here, but, and i am assuming this is low or micro level, perhaps medium level, 33 or so, well i would call and see flop more often then not. i just dont think that guys in this spot, this early in a mtt, really have much of a strong hand there. it is going to b a level of loose play and so why would one just minraise in that spot if they truely had a strong hand. the play reads, imo, very str8 forward for me, small pp, s/c, or, and here is where you must b careful, AT, AJ, Arag suited. obv the aj is the most concerning. now on that flop, his pot size bet ...

Re(3): ????
well u seem like a guy who plays pretty tight here, he raised a one gap suited connector with a huge stack/blinds ratio, its aggressive play, i dont have a prob with it, but to fold on flop and turn with a double gutter, i dunno. i like to take risks in large field mtts as u wont get enuff good hands usually to simply sit back and wait for them, i liked the hand, but what do i know. fish

Re(1): ????
with the stacks being so deep, i have no prob with the flop bet, u could afford it and if u can take it down right there, why not. the bet seemed perfect to me as it was about half the flop, i like to make a semi-bluff just like a c-bet and an actual bet for value on flop like that cause no one knows what type of bet to think of it as. so the play of the hand was very nice to me. it seemed like u were called by the small blind there, so i dont see how u got first bet on the river, but if he did check to u i dont like the river bet cause it seems to hi for a value bet with strong/probable ...

Re(1): Obvious call... right?
once i finished 2nd in a mtt, long time ago. a friend of mine was watchin, and he had more experience then me. after i lost he called me, and he told me, "bro, u can push on a draw, but u cant call all in on a draw." obv u were looking pretty good there, and now that it is 3 years later and i have alot more experience, i still like to think about that there and i would like to say that i woulda folded, and that is probably true, but unless ur in the situation then u never know for sure what u woulda done. but when my chips go in the middle, i wanna b the one with the made hand or b the first ...

Re(3): Guys, do you treat women differently at the tables?
yeah that is sick, and it sounds like the guy plays bad, but bad players have lucky days too. which is a good thing btw. but u have to take it in stride (i really think u need to read the assassinato article), what i look for when i wanna resteal is to b in the blinds and try and notice a guy goin after blinds, mine and people near me, and go after him with a big allin, i dont care the cards. doesnt work all the time, but does most the time, and that is good enuff, keeps him off my blinds. but again, u are new to the game, u will have to gain much experience, both in play and in learning from ...

Re(1): Guys, do you treat women differently at the tables?
well, this is very interesting. i'd b willing to bet taht the vast majority of men u play against dont play against u in a particular way because ur a woman. but im sure some do. but i doubt its because ur a woman, but rather because they see something in ur game that they believe they can take advantage of. a guy comin at u with 10-3, well i would just love that and i love it whenever it happens to me, if they hit this time, so b it(see assassinato article). but i do think that there are some guys who do play at women and i think that the fact that many guys use a female name would b proof. ...

Re(1): Peeved - my friend.
what a wonderful quote at the end there. i too considered peeved a friend, and i miss him very much. i really feel all messed up, cause when we couldnt find him it was troubling, and the longer it went the more u think about what it could b. while we were looking for him, trying to find out info to give police and stuff, there was always that hope, that he's just takin an extended break or something, as well as that thought in the back of ur mind, something isnt right here. and now that i know, im struggling with it. i look at his name on my yahoo, knowing i will never see those fish bones ...

Re(2): p5er Peeved... passes away... RIP friend
hi, i mostly posted on pd and really have never posted that much, i am more of a reader then a poster. peeved was a friend of mine, we spoke on IM everyday, so i and heelsfan prolly first to notice he was missing, we tried and tried to contact him or just to make sure he was ok u know. we called police out where he lives, used internet phone search groups, everything. finally when we had just about given up ben's wife found the obituary. peeved had a stroke about a year and half or two years ago, and he had another on july 15th and it killed him. so needless to say i am very unhappy right ...

Re(4): Final Table $33 360 max
i was feeling for u that hand but at same time i think u know that u got married to that hand and that is what led to u goin out 6th. the board was like A232 or so on the turn, two duesces and the ace for sure, u had to know that he had the ace. and u were pissed that the ace flopped and killed ur kk. u were supposed to c-bet the flop and check fold the turn there, that move saves u something like 23k or so and keeps u in the game pretty solidly, instead u bet turn and check called the river, and went down to 10k or so. i hope next time u do that better, cause u will never know it it was ur ...

Re(2): New Rizen Article
i too liked the article, i follow the logic and it def sounds good and should b key to helping players make more money as mtt players. that said, its very hard for me. im obv a tag player and i have had some success with online play, but i would like more. but i find it very difficult to b successful at expanding on my tag style. i suck whenever i try to loosen up. i seem to get reraised much of the time, i have difficulty makin the proper laydowns, and i seem to get frustrated by it and just wind up goin back to what is reliable for me. it always seems to work against me everytime i try to ...

Re(4): I love finding funny old notes you've taken on people
i like detailed notes myself, sometimes i look back and see "moron" and i wonder well how was he a moron, what did he do that was stupid, how did he do it. personally i think that being detailed and gettin in hands on a guy is the right thing to do, and i try to take as many notes as i can, not just the ones i get a beat on. a successfull 20/40 limit friend of mine usta play party, he told me it was nothing for him to go to a table and see he had 6/9 guys there with notes on them. i think that is valuable information, information one can use to b successful. additionally i like to put ...

Re(1): How do you avoid donkeys?
what u experienced is a bad beat, obv, and the thing is there is no avoiding bad beats, ever. everyday u shall b bad beat if u play poker, often many times a day, and they hurt more as a tourney player i know, but they dont hurt so bad when u dish one out urself now do they, lol. thing is if u r goin to play tourney poker get used to it, bad beats will never go away, u simply have to harden urself to them, and when u understand the game more u will learn to expect them so as not to b so shocked, but i try to get in that position tourney after tourney, day after day, get money in with the ...

14 is very much so in the range of acceptibility as variance goes, its y the roll has to match the level of play. mtts have the highest variance of any form of poker, so it its what u have chosen, get ready for a bumpy ride, as i can attest to. gl pea

Re(3): Putting People On Cards
one thing i would say, not that i am a great player or anything, is that experience is a big part of the equation, as u alude to above. putting people on ranges based on general observation, ie. hes loose so he gets a bigger range, hes tight so smaller, doesnt take experience tho. one of the best ways to go about this is to b a good note taker and observer. watching opponents, making reads in hands ur not involved in, taking as many notes on shown hands as u can, never taking a hand off of these types of things, can only help u improve hand reading skills faster. but there is no substitute ...

Re(1): ? for ppl that play poker for PT income
i think part of the decision on what and when to cash out also depends on ones goals, if ur just trying to make some extra cash, then u probably wont keep a very big roll, if u wanna grow ur roll to compete in bigger mtts then u will want to leave more money in ur acct and cash out less often, if u wanna go for a career in poker, u will go for something like a 40k roll to play all the big mtts every day, and u will never cash out, presumably casue ur job takes care of u just fine. so one needs to examine what one wants out of poker to determine how one should cash out pea
