Major rankings changes coming 8/1
Seems like everyone is wildly overestimating the usual disparity between the plb 100 and top 100, acting like a bunch of randoms are suddenly going to dominate. How many people currently in the top 100 in plbs aren't in the top 100 after factoring in pro poll' And if not they're ranked like 101 and 102 or something. Take a chill pill PC. Edit: BTW, the answer is 3. 3 players are currently in the top 100 in rankings w/o being top 100 in plbs (and they are all ranked 90+). Time to panic!!!!!!!!!!!!

fwiw i never advocated a fold, just said calling to strictly setmine is meh but then you have 33 in the sb, its a pretty meh spot as spots go

4b or fold preflop, flat is really really bad imo, you are going to find yourself in this icm nightmare of a spot a ton and its almost always going to be ugly, getting it in w/this much equity on the is about as good as you can reasonably hope for without crushing the flop

the reason a setmine is meh at best isn't that we aren't deep enough, but that our implied odds aren't great OOP against a button raiser...button is going to have a wide range and not necessarily lose a big pot when we hit, but it's still going to be difficult to play 33 here post if we don't hit...i'm not folding, but i def think fold, 3b/fold, and flat w/a plan to do more than setmine on some flops are all better options than just flat as pure setmine

Annoying Hand from $3r
I mean, guy has 70 bbs otb and is opening 60% of hands according to OP, never run into a villain with this description who tends to fold to 3b's playing IP. And this is a small 3r with a dolty-sounding villain, think it would be a huge mistake to assume that 3b/f'ing is going to pick up a ton of equity for your strong hands, that's only true if villain will adjust, I'd be stunned if some random dolt w/a big stack in a 3r is going to be make any solid observations or adjustments.

Flat is ok pre, fold is ok too, 3b/f is probably terrible given description of villain, seems unlikely to ever get a fold pre turn c/r is awful, ott check/call>check/fold>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>check/raise of any kind river is a clear fold as played don't share results in OP imo

This is sort of an old question (not saying that invalidates it) 3b/c v jam. It really depends on situation and villain almost always. If you think villain will read a 3b as stronger and fold out a lot hands we don't want to play against than definitely do that here. If it is more likely to be flatted I wouldn't do it with a hand as vulnerable postflop as AQ. Obviously if we had AA/KK this logic would be flipped around, I'd shove on anyone who could perceive that as weak and 3b small or flat if villain is a dolt.

stack sizes and more info on the tourney, what stage it is at and anything regarding villain is gonna be pretty essential to be able speak constructively about the hand

for the most part it seems to me that micro players much more often valuecut than they do bluff w/absolute 0, he's probably more likely taking a disastrous line with Kx/Ax than with some draw especially considering how dry the flop was, sigh fold imo

AQ/AT/QT all in his range, if he took a really nice line with kk/aa/aj/ak good for him i don't think i'd ever check back river here tho

AK pre vs utg raise and utgx1 shove, correct fold?
AK is definitely a call here, you only need to be around 40% to break even assuming cesar folds, you're doing way better than that so its definitely +ev even tho you just get coolered here sometimes

4b jam, if you had more chips i might feel comfortable flatting to get him to tool more postflop, as is though you aren't going to have a lot of mobility in your stack postflop, not to mention he can definitely be 3b/calling 99/TT as well as AK/AQ in addition to 3b/folding a fair amount. if you ran into QQ+ just coolerish imo

Tough River Spot Early in Maximus Event 27
Eh, plenty of spazzes out there tho, especially when OR fires turn and river so small and Hero has played whole hand so passively. I don't think I'd find a fold on the river. Think I'd play the hand the same usually and call it a cooler.

Wow this thread is a nightmare. Flatting the 3b is inconceivably bad. Against anyone competent this is just a shove preflop, if villain is incapable of being light here you can muck. Postflop everything is just an abortion, but then we never should have gotten to a flop w/chips behind.
