Re(2): So, has no one asked this question about the AP situation?
I agree with the skepticism. This is the only time they got caught because someone from absolute poker "accidentaly" sent out that file. I'm sure there have been people with access to superaccounts from online sites who have taken advantage many many times before and still are. Not just Absolute but other sites. We need a website that encourages players to send in their hand histories for analysis. Software can be written to filter out potential cheaters. I wish someone would do this.

Re(1): Why this AP mess scares me
Wow! Glad to see someone making good sense here. You are definately pointing out the important information here. I agree with you 100%. You are dam right about if that .xls file didnt get out... The situation without the .xls file would have ended up as one guy talking about how online gaming is fixed and then getting slammed. I am however not sure if government regulation is the answer. I think someone should come up with a good web site where users are encouraged to upload hand histories. The site would then analyze all hand histories to an exausting level to filter out potential cheaters. ...

Re(8): A Difference of Opinion Regarding Playing on AP...
We all have an opportunity to send a serious message to all online sites that think about cheating. Whether it only 1 person or one occasion whether absolute poker cheated doesn't really matter. This remains an opportunity for every player to send a mesage to all poker sites. We have to ban absolute poker altogether. Sink that ship. NO ONE, BUT NO ONE should player there. If they stay in business it's a message that remains in the back of peoples's minds and anyone in a position to do something like this will see that absolute survived it. ABSOLUTE POKER MUST GO DOWN. And those who were ...

I am not spreading anything. Just saying that it's entirely possible just as I have always believed. What happened at abslute poker just reinforces what I have always suspected. It is just too easy and too tempting for people to get a hold of a method from the inside to do something like that. Money changes people. Get a grip Waccokidd. I am not spreading BS. Just stating a fact. The fact is that it is entirely possible for others to do it. Do you think Absolute got exposed because it's the 1st time they did this' come on man...think about it. They got caught because a slip up from the ...

Re(2): Would you use a superaccount?
I would think it would be too hard to resist not taking advantage of it. I would probably end up using it to make as much as I could racking up atleast a few million, then quietly disapear.

You can't be serious! They only got caught because someone leaked the information out (either intentionaly or accidentaly). If it wasn't for that then it would have just been someone suspecting a player of cheating and it then being treated as something like this : "come on man, online poker is not rigged...you just got outplayed or you had bad luck",etc, etc, etc. Currently there is no solid way in place to catch anyone from doing this type of thing again. I know it still goes on and at other sites.

I seriously doubt that if they didn't fall asleep when they were trying to screw people that no one would have caught anything.

solutions for players regarding AP scandal
People (myself included) will obviously consider giving up online poker for good with this scandal. I see the only way for players to feel safe playing is for a trusted expert to come along and start up a web site that watches out this type of scandal. This is how I basically see it being done : As many players upload as much hand history as possible to this new website. The website takes all the information and sets up tons of scripts that analyze different parts of each hand. winnings, hands played, hands lost, hands lost against which players, betting patterns, river big bet calls with ...

Re(6): Statement about AP Situation - 10-16-2007
This is sickening. I always strongly suspected that some of the sites are doing that because of many many many many many suspect hands I have seen over the years. There is a way to catch them all if someone comes up with a good interactive website that incorporates hand histories. Careful study and processing of percentages will weed out people and put them on immediate radars. I don't have the computer programming skills so I hope someone comes up with it soon because I just might have to quit online poker for good.
