Just arrived in Tunica-2/5NL is the biggest game? WTF? I just got here, the biggest game is 2/5NL...What a disappointment. All I've heard lately is how awesome the action is here, because of the three major tournaments here this month. Did I just get here too early/late' I was reading about great 5/10 and 10/25 NL games at Goldstrike and Horseshoe. I tried both, they are pretty underwhelming... Is there a better place to play' What's the deal' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

I lost 14k in 8 days - Normal Variance? Does this happen to other professionals consistently? Playing NL cash games (mostly 5/10nl and 10/20nl), I have lost around $14000 in 8 days. I play for a living and I have been running bad for quite awhile. However, my variance, "bad luck", bad run, or whatever seems uncanny. I went on a great run last year around this time and made 44k in a period of 2 weeks. Since then, I have been winning a very small amount or breaking even. I keep losing thousands in big pots where I am a 70-90 percent favorite. It's killing my ROI. Can some of you please look at these hands which all took place in a period of 1 week and tell me if this is normal' I know ... Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(3): how bad is "420" for playing poker online? No offense to the 10 billion players on here that smoke weed but...Why is it that literally *everyone* I know personally that has smoked weed for any extended period of time is sort of "dull-minded" and unintelligent' Even when they are not high, they seem to have lost the cognitive ability to think clearly, observe the world around them, and come to intelligent conclusions. I've seen smart people de-evolve into complete morons. It scares the shyte out of me and it's the main reason I choose not to smoke. I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, and I'd hate to end up like some of my ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Watching Cardrunners Videos - Do these guys ever have winning sessions? I just watched 9 consecutive Cardrunner training videos...Literally every one was a losing session. They are all cash game videos, and in each one they lose. At first it made me feel better about how bad I've run for the last 6 months. Now, it's kind of depressing...It makes me wonder how much this game is based on luck, regardless of your level of skill. Also, a couple of times I cringed as I watched Brian Townsend (SBRugby) call/push all in. I knew by the way the hand went down that he was beat/dominated/crushed. I was correct everytime. I don't understand how I can know more about what's ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Going to the WSOP (Rio) on Monday to Play in the Cash Games - Good Idea? I know that seems logical, but for some reason it doesn't work that way. The bigger the tournament, the bigger the total cash game donks. I don't know why, but tournaments draw the worst cash game players you could hope for. I just don't know if I'm too late for the really juicy games. Gabriel Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Going to the WSOP (Rio) on Monday to Play in the Cash Games - Good Idea? I'm leaving Monday night to play at the Rio. I'll be there for a week. I'm planning on playing in the 5/10NL and 10/25NL games. Will these games be juicy during the main event' I was in Vegas last year during the T.O.C. and the games were ridiculously good. I was hoping that during the Main Event, they would be even better. So am I getting there too late in the WSOP to cash in on the donkament players, or am I arriving just in time' I had planned on spending a lot more time there during the WSOP, but some family issues have kept me from going until Monday. If the games won't be good during ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Seminole HardRock Tampa Shuts Down Big Games Is that so' Do we still have hope that the games will revert to the increased limits' This news pretty much ruins my year as a professional poker player living in FL. I hope to God something happens and we get the increased limits back. I made $3200 in one session my first trip to Tampa last Sunday, and I didn't even get involved in any big pots at 10/25NL. The play was atrocious. I haven't been able to go back this week due to some family issues. I can't believe I missed my chance to make any more off those games. I seriously am sick to my stomach over this. Gabriel Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): HR Tampa - 1st Day of Real Poker Trip Report Gotcha. That makes sense. People are buying in for around 1500-2k for the most part. Some are short-stacking it for the minimum at $500. Most of the preflop opening raises average $100-200. LOT'S of bluffing goes on, very aggressive game, but bad aggressive, not smart aggressive. Great game. On par with Commerce games : ) Gabriel Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): HR Tampa - 1st Day of Real Poker Trip Report I must be a horrible player. I don't think that's a terrible call when you are playing against bad players :(. I saw guys in the 10/25NL calling all in's for $3,000 with JJ on a flop of AKQ. I'd call all-in's all day with top and bottom pair in that game. In fact, I pushed all in many times in the 10/25NL yesterday with 2 pair after being re-popped. Unfortunately, the clowns never had a hand to call me. I even moved all in on a 10-7-3 flop with QQ after the guy called 200 pre (after limping) then bet 300 into me (He only had 1k left). The play at 10/25NL was horrible. It was very similar to ... Re(1): Weak/Passive Image - Key To Beating LAG? This works every day on Bodog at the 5/10 and 10/20 NL games. The Lagtards will just keep trying to "make moves" and you just call call call. If you bet, they are done, so you just check/call over and over. It's pathetic. Bodog is the only site I've ever played on where I sincerely believe you could make money at their biggest games (10/20NL is their biggest) SOLELY with a call button. A weak/passive image there works great. So yeah. It can/does work if you know what you are doing. Gabriel Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): River Odds Question 5/10NL Hey Suzy. I was playing with you tonight on Bodog at 5/10NL under a different name. With 9 outs and 1 card to go, he was roughly 20% to catch on of his 9 outs. That's 4:1, not 3:1, so his money went in bad. Good luck! Gabriel Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): sun cruz casino. I play at the one out of Port Canaveral twice a week. It's the only "real" poker around Central Florida. The 5/10 NL game is very juicy. Loose players with a lot of money for the most part. You can make a living off of this game alone if you have the bankroll to sustain the swings. The 2/5 NL game is easily beatable as well, but it's a fraction tougher. There is a rake, I dunno what the other poster is talking about. It's $5 max per hand if the pot is over a certain amount, pretty standard. Great game. Only drawback is only playing from 7:40 PM to 11:10 PM Mon - Fri and an hour longer on ... Atlantic City Feb 6-10 - Where Should I Stay? My dad and I are going on a poker trip next week. I hear the Borgata is the place to play (Because they have automatic card shufflers + bad players). However, I hear they are really stingy with their poker room rate. I was told you can't even get the rate unless you first get a card and build up comp time, then the rate you do get is not much of a deal. So where else has a good poker room rate' I'd like to stay somewhere close to Borgata since that's where I'll spend most of my time. However, I don't want to pay more than $100 a night. Does anyone have any suggestions' Thanks, Gabriel Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Where can I play 5/10 NL FULL Ring games besides Bodog? I normally play on Bodog at the 5/10 NL and 10/20 NL full (9-handed) ring games. Are there any other sites that have people consistently playing at these types of games' I know Full Tilt has been getting some full ring 5/10NL games going in the last few months (However, they don't ever get a full ring 10/20 NL game going.). Any advice for finding more sites with these types of games would be appreciated. Thank you, Gabriel Posted in: Poker Discussion |
