"You know what hurts the most' The lack of respect. That's what hurts the most. Except for....the other thing. THAT hurts the most. But the lack of respect. That hurts the second most." The best Norm interview ever is with Letterman right after he got fired from SNL. "He told me I wasn't funny".

Wish me luck
If they only give spots to 2nd-8th plus 2 wildcard seats, that's only 9 people instead of 10, so you have better odds already. From a strat point of view, if you are coming in as a wildcard, I'm guessing you are one of the smallest stacks. I'd guess that you can prob pick up some pots preflop/on the flop pretty early since people with bigger stacks are going to want to wait and see what stacks are like once a couple of people bust out and the seats are very close. Don't be afraid of abusing both the 5-handed bubble and 4-handed bubble if you aren't one of the top 2 stacks by a decent margin, ...

Golf Debate
I'm guessing you have more knowledge then I do, but I find this hard to believe. Just looking at the 2010 list, one guy played 18 events and made 25k, one guy played 19 and made 30k and theres a handful of others who played 10-20 and made under 60k. So that's like...3%. And I'm assuming that they get some sort of sponsorship money for something, at least enough to cover travel and such. But like if you are talking about people who get like 3 sponsorship exemptions a year or something then yeah obv. But full cardholders pretty much make bank.

Golf Debate
I think somewhere along the way I started debating pro vs amateur one on one and forgot we were talking about the odds to win the tournament overall. So yes, around 50% to win the tournament overall.

Golf Debate
Clearly wasn't my point. If a top amateur was anywhere near as good at gold as a top professional, then at least ONE of them would have won/been in contention in a major in the past 10/15 years, right' I mean just law of averages, it had to have happen if the skill level was similar. My point was that the skill level is not similar, with that being one of many examples I could have provided (another being that if an amateur was as good as a T10 pro, they wouldn't be an amateur, they would be a pro and make millions of dollars a year). I understand the differences between stroke and match play ...

Golf Debate
"Could make a living" and "could beat a t10 player" are two different things. When was the last time an amateur won a major' When was the last time an amateur finished T10 in a major' IMO the number is prob around 80-90%. The pro is going to be better at all aspects of the game, even if in some of those he only has a small edge, it's still going to add up.

Question about "kill pots" Omaha hi-lo
IMO it should be a kill pot, it shoud be based on the main pot. In lhe, if you win two consecutive hands, the next hand is a kill pot (and stays a kill until you lose a hand). In o8, if you scoop a pot above a certain dollar amount (usually around 8-10BBs), the next hand is a kill pot. In a kill pot the limits double (although usually the games are only a half kill, in which the limits increase 1.5x), and the person who "made" it a kill pot has to post a big blind of the corresponding "new" limit. That person also gets to act last preflop (after the big blind), unless someone before him ...

Math question for y'all
How can you say you have a hard time arguing and then EXPLAIN THE EXACT ARGUMENT''!'!'!' So like, do you people think that 5/5 x 5 = .2' If you think that 5/5 x 5 equals 5 (spoiler alert....it does), then you can't think that the original equation equals anything other than 288. QED.

Math question for y'all
Your friend is wrong. The parenthesis implies multiplication, so typing "2*(9+)" would be redundant. The simplification goes on INSIDE the parenthesis, not outside of it.

Math question for y'all
288. It's not 48÷(2(9+3)) = '''' It's 48÷2(9+3) = '''' Solve for the parenthesis and then work left to right. You guys are prob getting screwed up by imagining that one of the numbers in the parenthesis is a variable, so you'd multiple 2 times both things and then solve from there. But that would be wrong. Since it's division and multiplication, you'd divide FIRST and then multiple times both things in the parenthesis. So it would be 24 times 9 plus 24 times 3, not 48 divided by (2 times nine plus 2 times 3). See how that doesn't make sense' You are adding something in that's not there in ...

so i have recently turned 25...
Poker is really tough to find a balance in because you get addicted to the money, and you start seeing everything in terms of how much you could be making. If you have plans to see a movie at 7, you have to stop registering at 1 and you'll be out til 11, so in those 10 hours you could have made 1k in equity, so in your mind it's costing you 1k to go see a movie. This is obv flawed thinking and leads to burnout, which is ironic because in trying to play more you end up playing less (long term). My philosophy is, I'd rather play 5 hours a day for 10 years then play 15 hours a day for 2 ...

Serious Vegas WWYD
I can't think of any one specific individual time, but I assure you I've done it countless times, and I've seen tons of other people do it at blackjack tapes, roulette tables (on like red/black bets), ect. Pretty sure I've done it at Pai Gow a few times as well. I've also seen tons of people (like...every single roll ever) make bets on a craps table between the shooter getting the dice and him rolling them. Again, I can't recall any one specific time where it's been done in cash, but it's been my experience that unless someone says "NO BET" or something to that effect, the bet has always ...

Serious Vegas WWYD
I've had cash play in every pit game I've ever played, except for craps. Not saying that I don't think cash does play in craps, just that I can't recall ever doing it. In this case, especially with a bet like the field where it's obvious what he's betting on, and with the guy repeating his bet back to him, it's clearly a bet, and I'd probably do the exact same thing OP did (you know, except for the betting on the field part). Also, that part of LV is commonly referred to as "downtown". Makes it sound less sad.

wrestlemania
I always buy the Rumble and Mania, it's just good TV. I wasn't thrilled with Mania this year, but it was way better then last year. Thoughts: - ADR should have won, but I understand not wanting heel/heel wins with the championships. - Snooki looked great for what I'm assuming was a very limited training time. Trish always looks good. Ziggler and Morrison were lol underused though, those two could have wrestled a 10-15 min match and it would have been one of the better matches on the card. - Speaking of which, bumping the DB/Shemus match seems like a bad idea. Especially considering they ...

line check w/ KK deep in micro
He's already drawing cheap, he's drawing for free as he's in position and it's checked to him. In a bigger tournament, I can see giving someone credit for making that bet to disguise his draw so that if it hits he can get paid, but I can't really give a $2 player credit for being that sophisticated. It's such a small bet that I'd prob call here and check to him on any non-king river and see what he does, but I'm prob calling any decently small river bet as well. A lot of times he's got some ace, but a lot of times he doesn't give you credit for an ace so he's betting middle ...

I am off Full Tilt for good - Who is coming with me?
re: support issues, I haven't heard of any specific examples of people having problems with support in recent memory, and I didn't read any examples in this thread, there just seems to be a general attitude of "support sucks", but with nothing to back it up. re: server issues, I can recall two times that the server crashed, last sunday when it was back up in 30 minutes, and I think sometime a couple of months ago when it was down long enough to issue refunds. I mean, I don't know a server from a modem, but it seems to me that the problems were from the high volume of players playing ...

Volume & Variance
Variance is most closely associated with field size. Structure also plays a factor, but not as large as field size. The paradox is that the larger the field size, the higher your ROI will be. So you have to make a decision on if you want to make less money more consistently, or more money less consistently. Also, you should never be passing up an edge because you want to min cash. That is a Bad Idea. From the information about yourself you've provided (including the implication that you pass up some +EV spots), it seems like MTTs aren't the best for you right now. I'd suggest you give SNGs a ...
