Re:PokerStars cash games... rediculously tight
It sounds like most people who are winning consistently on Stars are playing the 6 max tables. I've always preferred the full ring games, but it seems like they're just a nitfest on Stars. I'm just wondering if anyone is regularly pulling high 4 or 5 figures from these games on a monthly basis. I was playing on Bodog where there was 5-6 people in every flop at the $400 buyin level. Seems very rare to get more than a 3 way pot on Stars and playing there just seems like such a grind by comparison. I really want to make the transistion to Stars since their payouts are so reliable. ...

PokerStars cash games... rediculously tight
I recently started playing at PokerStars due to payout issues at my usual site. The cash games on Stars are so tight I'm questioning if they're even worth playing. Even at the $100 max buyin level it seems like there's rarely more than three players in a flop. I joined the site because of their reputation for fast and reliable payouts, but the games are simply the tightest I've ever seen. I'd love to hear from anyone making consistent profits on Stars.

Re:Playing online poker can cost you your job! must read 100% true
This depends on the employment law in your state. My state is what is called an "at-will" employment state, which means you can be fired or quit your job at will. You can be fired for any reason (except race, gender, etc.), or even for no reason at all. So if you live in an at-will employment state, you are unfortunately in bad shape.

Re:Playing in Main Event... Stay at the Rio?
I'm also bringing along some friends, one of whom is going to Vegas for the first time. So I'm thinking Caesar's might be better for its central strip location. I do plan to play cash games too, so I think the strip would be better for that as well.

Re:Playing in Main Event... Stay at the Rio?
Yeah if I was just going there for cash games, I'd definitely stay on the strip. It's my first time in the main event though, and I really want to give myself the best possible chance to do well. I usually sleep until 12-1 pm, so I like the idea of not having to hustle to get a shuttle/cab to get there on time. On the other hand I do realize I won't be in the tournament every day, and would probably stay at Caesar's palace otherwise.

Playing in Main Event... Stay at the Rio?
I'm playing in the main event this year and am thinking I want to stay at the Rio for the obvious convenience of staying where tournament will be played. I'd love to hear from anyone who's stayed there before, particularly for the main event.

Advice for moving from cash games to MTT?
I've been a solid cash game player over three years and I'm trying to qualify for this years WSOP main event. In the few tournaments I've played, I can usually finish in the money but haven't gone much beyond that. And since most of the ME qualifiers only pay the top one or two spots, I need some good advice on tournament strategy. Article and book recomendations are also welcome. Thanks in advance guys!

$800 CPA fee???
My CPA wants $800 for my taxes this year. This includes my federal, state and local returns, FBAR, schedules A, B, and C, and estimated quartlerly taxes. He also answers any questions I have during the year and is very responsive to phone calls. So he makes my taxes very easy for me, but I do feel $800 is a bit steep. Does this sound like a reasonable fee, or am I getting gouged'

Re(10): Bodog ATM card sent instead of check???
It does sound crazy but I'm in similar situation and can tell you they did the same thing to me. Between Oct - early Jan they were pumping out $10K checks within a week. In mid-late Jan they switched processors. If you requested a big payout by check during this period it was delayed and broken up into multiple $3K checks.

I certainly sympathize, but didn't you say you just got your first one yesterday' I got my first check last week, and was told the next one would come within 3-4 business days. Today was the 4th day, and no check. I was wondering if anyone had received the multiple checks from a single payout and could give the timeframe between each check.

Re(3): Bodog has no integrity
Bodog has been reliable for me over two years now. I'm sure they will make good eventually. However... It doesn't seem like they have the greatest of communications with their check processor(s). I don't see why they can't more accurately predict when checks will be cut. Especially for large ($3K+) payouts, they shouldn't leave us guessing when we're going to see our money. If it's going to be 10 business days between checks they should be up front about it. It's a lot more frustrating when they say it will be 4 business days, then 7, then 10...
