Anybody Want to Share Hotel Costs for Atlantic City Memorial Day Weekend? My cousin is going to get Thursday, May 25th comped, and maybe Sunday the 28th too if he can. That leaves Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th. Total cost is about $580 for those two days. Split four ways, that would be about $145 per person. Not bad for 4 nites on the beach their fishiest weekend of the year.... (Bally's Showboat Tropicana one of those) Let me know if you are interested..... bring a sleeping bag or be prepared to take the bed in shifts. don't get us kicked out or steal.... Annoying Hand from $3r nice catch on the math pick6. i think maybe the turn was 8888 and i RR. that would explain the math.... anyways.... this is what i learned here. if you are going to defend and take flops with marginal holdings, you need to be able to figure out when to cut your losses and let it go. my "plan" pre-flop probably wasn't too bad. with the villain opening so wide, in a definite steal spot, flatting pre, floating the flop, and donk leading the turn probably will scoop a nice pot a high enough percentage of the time to justify the play. and it will be a bigger pot than a 3b pre would scoop ... stars 50r hand vs gagliano30,do you fold to gags 4bet on the flop? one thing i find interesting (not questionable) is gags flatting the 33 instead of 3b. gags prolly has to think he's ahead of the btn at this point, but also 33 usually doesn't flop well to play a big pot with, and he's not going to call a 4b with iit, but does have showdown value. so i guess the idea is to try and get to showdown cheaply' maybe get a CB on the flop, a check on the turn, and pick up a bluff on the river' what i would really like to know is how gags plays his threes there post flop there w/o a set' is he going to check fold anything that is not a set, or does he have ... Life or death situation take an ink pen, pull the cap off, and pull the ink tube/ball point out. jam a bud in the end. light and don't smoke too much of it cause burning plastic is toxic. you should get a few pulls before the plastic starts bubbling. or, take any piece or cardboard, roll it into a cone, jam bud in and lite. the cardboard will burn faster than plastic, but at least it's not fucking plastic. once finished, use your buzz to re-evaluate your life. Annoying Hand from $3r Appreciate the replies here. After reading them, I agree there is nothing wrong with folding 9T pre, and I also think against a LAG opponent, there is nothing wrong with defending if you have a plan. Some really good comments, and i think bisull and funnygut are right that the c/r on the turn didn't do anything good. as bisull said- all it's going to do is cause worse hands to fold, and better hands to stay. flatting the turn and making a decision on the river would have been the best line, as played. i'm still not sure i like 3b here at all. it just seems like the stacks and ... Awkward Stack Sizes...What is the best play? prolly open fold. Villian is going to open jam 88 and 99, which means you are crushed or flipping. with 40 BB, you can find a better spot. or you can jam, or flat, or 3b. there really isn't a wrong way to play the hand because you have a strong hand and he probably has overs. plus you aren't HUGE and are playing to win, right'' but, it's hard to really put yourself very far ahead of his range. flatting does invite other players into the hand and good things could happen then too. you almost have the odds to set mine, but not quite. i'm not sure you have much fold equity ... Annoying Hand from $3r So, I'm a little pissed about the way I busted from the $3r last night. I had reasons for my line, but are any of them good ones''' -Sitting 20th with 80 left out of 404, and 54 pay. -$39k and BB is $1,000. -On BB w/ T9o -Action is folded to button who min-raises to $2,000, I call. *Villian had $69k and had been playing LAG, min-raising 60% - 70% of hands from any position. For this reason, I felt like I could call pre- then check call any flop, then donk lead the the turn to scoop a nice pot with a decent chance of success. i may even flop something. well....flop ... stars 50r hand vs gagliano30,do you fold to gags 4bet on the flop? interested hand. -you have roughly 40 BB and gags had roughly 48 BB -it's also lp battle the only thing that makes me think you could have found a fold is your 3b on the flop pretty much pot commits you and it's hard to think gags would 4b lite there because he lacks the fold equity to make it work. so...that really only puts you ahead of his TT - QQ hands, or maybe some very strong pair+ draw combos, but he may be more likely to flat those. it's prolly just UL though.... one question you could ask yourself on the flop is "how does gags see me' does he think i would 3b lite' or ... do you have a set number of rebuys in a R mtt? Well if there a one size fits all answer here, squid nailed it. But I'm not so sure there is a one size fits all answer. If the structure sucks, then double buying into a bingo below the chip average with minimal edge right before the adds doesn't sound +EV. if it's a good structure, post add, that's another story. Rough guessing, i would say by the 50th minute, about 15% - 25% of the field is usually gone, and if you play this tourney regularly, you should have a better gauge on the exact %. do you have a set number of rebuys in a R mtt? i guess you also have to factor in the amount of dead money in the prize pool, and the number of fish who luckboxed their way into a stack they are destined to lose. these probably offset the fact that you are buying in below the chip average to a point, but after the 50th minute or so of a re-buy, you can definitely make a case for using the $21 to double buy into tomorrow's rebuy instead. would you agree tomorrow's re-buy is more EV for your $21 than double re-buying back into tonight's at the 51st minute' the casino never closes, there will be another tourney to spend your $21 on, so ... Tell me....if I buy into an $11r, double buy up to $21, then get felted at the 48th or 51st minute, HOW ON EARTH is it +EV to rebuy into the same tourney, WAY BELOW the chip average, with only a few minutes to change that. Wouldn't you be better off taking that $21 and buying into a freezout or tomorrow's rebuy where you buy in AT THE CHIP AVERAGE, not way below it' Don't worry abou the equity you left in the tourney...throwing good money after bvad wont change that.
