I agree. Unfortunately we have taken a giant step toward increasing governmental size. The problem is we can not sustain this. I was hopeful that our current situation would cause people to reevaluate their positions and realize that we need to drastically switch courses(and fast). Our currency(and everything else) depends on it.

LOL. Yeah but what about when gold is rising' If you think gold is going up and you want to make money from it you should own mining stocks IMO. Remember that when gold go's up it is mostly due to dollars going down(you are not really gaining wealth you are preserving it).

My bad. Twas completely uncalled for. Apparently I don't like being called a liberal LOL. It isn't a bad thing. We need more production in our country if we wish to remain a powerful nation. We should get rid of Unions and start competing with the world IMO. I'm not saying Walmart is bad. Just that there tremenous success is a bad signal for our country. I think less government intervention is the way to go.

I am explaing why our standard of living is diminishing(in relation to Walmart). Not saying I am against it. Hence the indifferent comment. Reading is fundamental.

That is how all true economic growth occurrs and I agree. The question is have we been able to do that' I would argue no(I veiw much of our economic growth over the past decade as smoke and mirrors, a house of cards ect). And I agree with you that as American's we are not entitled to a higher standard of living.

I'm indifferent to Walmart. But if you shop there please don't bitch when they drive your company out of business. We buy cheap goods and export our jobs. In the long run our wages will get driven down to the point where the goods are no longer "cheap". That will be fun.

I agree. Qdoba's fajita Ranchera is pretty good. And their chips are inedible IMO. Never been to Chipolte. I think Chipolte's is McDonalds and Qdoba is Jack in the Box fwiw.

From a medium term perspective I personally like energy companies in general. I expect a massive stimulus plan from the Obama administration(historically big). Oil will go back up IMO. It may take a lil while though.

Gold is a play on the long term destruction(of value) of the US dollar basically. For me it is based on monetary and fiscal policy. If you can explain to me how it is sustainable I'd like to hear it.
