Re(3): Is bfactor totally f*cked? You made a mistake but FTP should be reasonable about this realizing it is in their best long term interest to keep you playing there. If they are unreasonable about it take your money elsewhere and get rakeback. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Does MJ play poker??? I read a story on espn a while back about an NBA player that played on Party during halftime of his games. Can't remember who it was off the top of my head (maybe Gilbert Arenas), but thought that was pretty crazy. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Filthy I don't normally like posting bad beats, but this one was amazing. Fortunately this was a tiny mtt at WPEX (they are all small there) that I was playing in just to test their structure. Seat 0 (playing): EZ_Mark, amount 1875.00, amount bet 0.00, penalty (None) Seat 1 (playing): Slow_Hand, amount 5821.00, amount bet 0.00, penalty (None) Seat 3 (playing): GoldenRicky, amount 1120.00, amount bet 0.00, penalty (None) Seat 4 (playing): bacon_fat, amount 1704.00, amount bet 0.00, penalty (None) Seat 5 (playing): cringle526, amount 2240.00, amount bet 0.00, penalty (None) Seat 6 (playing): ... Re(6): Why aren't more people playing at WPEX? Their tournaments suck. They are mostly small stakes with small fields. If you are strictly a tournament player, then I wouldn't play there. The only advantage to MTTs right now is that they have no fee. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Why aren't more people playing at WPEX? If the word starts to get out on sites like this, then WPEX will grow and the fish will start showing up. The good players will find the WPEX anyway. Also, do you really think that everyone reading this forum is a good player' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Why aren't more people playing at WPEX? The software is not THAT slow. In fact, with the recent update it seems comparable to most other sites. As far as game selection goes, there is usually everything from the micro limits on up to 20/40 (full rings) running. Granted the players are not as weak as they are at Party, but I don't believe that the games being slightly tougher even comes close to costing someone a BB or two per 100. Let me put it this way, if you were just a break even player (when playing w/ a rake) you will now be making 1-2 BB/100, which is a decent rate for most good players. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Why aren't more people playing at WPEX? Fox...I believe their recent update addressed this problem. I've played a couple of times since then and it was faster. I agree about Pacific, though I was willing to put up with their shit until they raised the rake to $4 max. Even if WPEX's software is shit I still think playng there is worthwhile since rakeless poker is adding about 1-2 BB/100 to my win rate. For the average winning cash game player, I doubt there is much they could do to improve their game by that much. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Why aren't more people playing at WPEX? This site is 100% rake free and seems totally legit to me. If you are strictly a MTT player then I can understand not being enticed by their tiny events, but for cash games I don't understand why you would play anywhere else. I usually 2 table a mix of 5/10 and 10/20 limit HE and my rakeback averages between $30-$40 per hr. I don't know of any bonuses that can even come close to that. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): I'm a rookie , but an idiot? You didn't play this badly. In fact, I really like that you reraised all-in...had you called dj, waman may have called as well and you would've lost the pot. Fold equity is everything sometimes. In general, with big draws and close calls in terms of pot odds like this situation, you are not making a big mistake to put your tournament on the line. If you sit tight you might cash, if you win pots like these you are poised for a run at the top 3, which should always be your goal. One thing I would've done differently is lead out with a bet of only 1/2 to 2/3 of the pot. If your opponents don't ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): I thought Rebuys were supposed to be fun? I was recently in this same situation...being laughed at as I pushed with most hands in a $5 rebuy at bodog and never winning coin-flips or 60/40 situations. Fortunately, I got the chips I needed just before the rebuy period ended. This turned out to be one of the more gratifying mtts i've ever played as I went on to take 2nd and owned those same snobbish scumbags that were playing tight and laughing at me in the process. Re(1): 50/100 fixed on bodog I dunno for sure, but maybe the people who were making it soft were going broke too fast for Bodog's taste. Bodog makes more money if these people go broke slowly at a lower limit. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): People who visit or live in Vegas, help? At most places you can also get your room partially comped for playing poker in their casino. They have varying time requirements and rates. I know the MGM Grand offers $40 off per night for 5 hrs per day in their poker room. I think the allvegaspoker website has details about this, but you would want to call the poker room to verify the deal. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): People who visit or live in Vegas, help? The MGM Grand has cheap rooms right now...$129/night I think. I've also heard that IP is a shithole, but if you are planning to do almost nothing but play poker then who cares where you take your cat naps' As far as places to play poker go, I've heard that IP is among the fishiest around, but in my experience almost every game I've played in at Vegas is fishy. Personally, I would prefer a slightly less fishy game that has 1st rate dealers, automatic card shufflers, hot waitresses (they are AMAZING at the Wynn) and is in a casino that doesn't smell. That being said, I would play at the Wynn, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Extremely favorable bubble situation On the bubble of the $5 rebuy at Bodog last night (only the final table cashed) I found myself with a 3 to 1 chip lead over the next closest player (I had about 60K). Furthermore, the 4 remaining players at my table had stacks of 12K, 8K, 8K, and 4K. Usually when I make it to the bubble I have an above avg stack, but I've never been in quite such a dominating position as I was last night. Has anyone else ever experienced something this' I wonder if this will ever happen to me again. BTW...I pushed all-in for about 15 consecutive hands before the shortstack (who's M reached <1)finally ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
