Re(2): Share Your Poker XFactor / CardRunner Experiences Appreciate the response, but I'm looking for something a little more specific like "they really hammered the importance of position and board texture home, but I wish they'd talk a little bit more about contiuation betting aggressive opponents when that opponent's shortstacked" or something like that. Share Your Poker XFactor / CardRunner Experiences Hey All, I'm putting together an article for the World Poker Tour Magazine looking at online pokertraining schools, most notably PokerXFactor and Cardrunners. I’m looking for a bit of feedback on peoples'experiences with the sites, what they learned (or didn't learn), how itimproved their game, what they’d like to see improved, what each site does best, thatsort of thing. I'd especially appreciate hearing from a couple of ranked players who areor were (paying, non-instructor) members of either site, or players who believewhat they learned directly contributed to them taking down a major ... Re(1): FULL TILT SCREWED ME BAD ---- PLEASE READ I don't think there's any question here that, ethically, Full Tilt has an obligation to refund him his lost $1K. Why Neteller is holding funds is completely irrelevant here. The point is that Full Tilt sent money to an account that he specifically requested they not send his money to. When this occurs, seeing as Full Tilt obviously has a business relationship with Neteller, it should be Full Tilt's responsibility to reclaim those funds from the merchant and resend it to his proper account. The crux of this issue is the online gambling legislation. I'm sure Full Tilt could have said to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Part Time Job..... From someone who's been involved in both the online and live side of the industry for a little while now, here's my advice: - Having a small part time job is good for a lot of reasons. It gets you out of the house (online players have a strong tendancy to isolate themselves, especially during downswings), and it also gives you the piece of mind that if you do go broke you have something to fall back on. This might not seem important to you now, but near the tail end of a 300BB downswing you might really appreciate this. - Learn proper bankroll management. This is 55% of playing poker either ... Re(1): How much can a dealer make? Try going to then looking through the "About Dealing Poker" forums... lots of good info there. Or, for other casino table games, check out toke and hiring info at / Pretty much there is an abundance of poker dealers out there right now, and if you want to get in the poker room, you'll likely have to either have a connection or spend some time working the other table games before you have a shot at it, from what I hear. As for pay, with tokes included, you're likely looking at anywhere from $25-40 an hour depending on the room, your seniority, and how quick you are. good luck. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Another "Why I love Poker" Thread Dealing $5/$10 Limit. Player A has been at the table for at least an hour when I sit down to deal, constantly asks what the action is to him, and has already tried to push all-in for $200. The whole concept of a structured limit game seems to have blown his mind. 4 players capped preflop. Flop: Player A raises, capper reraises, two folds, Player A calls. Turn: Player A raises, other player raises, Player A calls. River: Player A checks, other player raises, Player A calls. Player A shows Winner: "Why did you call the river'" Player A: "I wanted to see what you had, and I thought ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Why poker is profitable. Because of people like this... Dealing a $1/$2 NL game, Button is seat 4, and two players limp to seat 7 who opens with a $12 raise. Folded around to the CO who pops it to $30, folded to the original bettor who calls. Seat 7 has around $215 left, CO has about $150. Flop: 2 4 4 Seat 7 immediately pushes all-in, and CO goes in the tank, then askes me "can I flip over my cards to get a reaction'"... I say go ahead, and he flips over.... 22 (the third nuts), and sits there looking at Seat 7. I say "alright buddy, there's no need to be an ass and slow-roll here" and he just looks at me. Seat ... Re(1): Why is cursing frowned upon at the table? Because the goal is to make poker a respectable game, which many of us here would like and would profit by. You don't see chess players saying "wtf what a rookie fucking move, moving to H4 with your rook, god you're an idiot, what a fucking donkey". There's a general conception that poker players are assholes. When I first entered the casino industry everyone was like "poker's okay to deal, but the players are loud, rude, and obnoxious". Perhaps removing swearing/cursing etc. is an attempt to clean up the game, because you know what, most poker players are assholes. I was too embarrased when ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Happy with my read here Brag posts don't really impress anybody on here, and you didn't even play this well. When he raises to $20 and you think he's got fluff why are you just calling here instead of re-popping' If your read is that he's drawing to something or has two overs, why are you just calling his bet instead of forcing him to pay' What if he bets $40 on the river' What if he bets $20' You have no idea where you are... and by just calling his raise instead of coming back at him he got to a) stay the aggressor in the hand and b) draw for free to his flush, and you can't be sure whether he's drawing to clubs ... The Problem with Online Poker This never happens: Dealing a 2/5 NL game, three players get it all-in on a board for roughly a $750 pot. River comes: Player 1 says "well I've just got the straight obviously." One shows two pair and mucks, the other shows trip queens and mucks. lol. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): The re-re- bluff raise. Another way to do it is this (cash game) Villain is tricky player, who about 30 hands earlier, chopped a $130 1/2 pot with me on a 987KA board when we both had 74 (mine was sooted!). So UTG (idiot loose/passive) raised to 10UTG (read, which I'm sure Villain shares, says this guy has absolute fluff), I call, and then Villain (CO) pops it to $25, UTG folds, and I (putting him on AJ or something doing a steal), attempt to resteal by pushing all-in with my 88. He shows AA. Flop - 882. Nice. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

PokerXFactor - Hilarious Video I'm looking for a tournament resource to improve my MTT game (I play 95% cash games right now but would like to expand my horizons so to speak), and thought about signing up over at PokerXFactor. I watched their sample video though, sheets in 37, lol, and it really gave me an idea of what it takes to win, when, in 37 hands, half of those short handed, you get AA (versus AK 3 handed no less), KK, QQ twice, 99 twice (flopping quads once, and having it hold up in a race the other time), A10 (versus A5), and even when he does play hands like K6 (flops the open ended draw which hits), K3 ... Re(1): World Poker Exchange thoughts... This is a great site if you want to play with a bunch of TAG Rocks who are only playing there because of no rake. The guys we make our money off of don't know what rake is, and even when they do, they don't really care about it because they don't see it impacting on them greatly. In summation: this won't fly. Re(1): Buying in for the table minimum Shortstack strategies generally consist of pushing your edges pre-flop, and relying on bigger stacks to gamble on you with semi-decent hands. I've played around with shortstack and had moderate success but it's not a lot of fun as a player and there's very little real thought that needs to go into it. Essentialy you're picking hands which you're willing to commit all your chips to. AK-1010 range. You either push all-in preflop, or raise large before the flop and then push on the flop regardless (unless you have 1010 and the board's AKQ with 4 players or something). There are pretty detailed ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

With all the people who have said terrible fold, I'd recommend not being results-oriented and belieiving becuase you happen to be doing well that it was the right call. Is Datamining Unethical? Sure it's quasi-allowed by poker sites, but I'd much rather be playing in a tournament with a guy that has two to three accounts or a bot even than I would against a guy who's left his computer running to gather information on me which he can then use to figure out my tendancies. I'm a live cash game guy predominately, so I don't have as much experience with datamining programs as some, but I don't see how this program can be considered ethical. The funny thing to me, and this is kind of an outside prospective because I'm not a huge MTT player, is that the same guys who consistently datamine ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(9): ZeeJustin to speak tonight I agree. He screwed up, but he's definately taken enough abuse for it and it's time to move on. I'd argue that datamining against new players is much more unethical than what he did, not to mention the shit a lot of live regulars try against newbies on the tables.... If there was proof that he conistently chip-dumped to himself or something like that I could see this being a much bigger issue, and although he did cheat, it was one of the lesser forms of cheating, and I think he's paid much more for it, and it is more regretful for it, than most people are for commiting relatively larger ...
