Re(2): bodog beta testers Things that can't hurt.....by a techno dummy. 1) Uninstall all parts of previous versions...some you may have to do manually. 2) Install new version and restart. 3) "Waters" suggestion of checking the "show registering" box in lobby 4) In preferences uncheck "display flop/turn/river" and "display player actions" I know that this is grasping at straws, but it seems to have helped. BUT, bottom line is like jester suggested, the end user shouldn't have to do all this, and if they do need to upgrade their java and directX versions, then there ought to be something on the download page that ... Re(8): New Bodog software Lagging I'm having terrible lag problems. I',m running Windows XP, defragged, and cleared my temp files...yada yada, and at first it was ok, but as the evening went on last night it got progressively worse. It got to the point where 1/3 to 1/2 my time would expire before I would see my 2nd hole card when I was UTG. And I was also having the issue of getting booted altogether when I would be moved to another table. Just like when they did their last software upgrade, I'd get the client error message and poof. Of course, bodog says that it's on my end, but it's not. Other's at my tables last night ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): A phone call and a sobering question regarding AP. Sorry long and no cliff notes " What if the latest release from AP is all that they can give you'" "Are the people causing the most uproar over this going to risk killing online poker just to hang someone'" Although I'm not a client of AP, I've followed this pretty closely. Each day and each detail that goes by gives me a little more hollow feeling in my stomach, but the above paragraph from BRS simply gave me the creeps. I'm what I guess you would call a recreational player. I started with $38 from a sportsbook account and have made a few thousand but my $/hour rate is in the pennies. Re(6): I think I quit smoking cigs Just stumbled on this thread. One month cig free after 40 years of smoking. It's the shits, but it's starting to get a little easier each day. A coulple of facts a respiratory therapists told me. 1)..The chemical dependence of nicotine is completly gone after 72 hours. You could smoke all day...die 3 days later and not trace of nicotine could be found in your system. 2) The reason people say the quitting cigs is harder than heroin is because once you've gone through the withdrawals of heroin, you're less likely to ever want to go through that again. Anyway...my 2 cents. 40 turkey. Why' ... Posted in: Off Topic |

What am I missing? There's plenty of venom (imo deservedly so) directed towards Frist, the GOP, the Falwells/Robertsons over what has transpired regarding online poker. But, there's also reports, which I believe to be true, that the Harrahs, among others, contributed money to Frist's coffers, and you have to know that the boys in Vegas have Harry Reid in their back pocket. Plus, I would also think that the California cardrooms have thrown a few bucks Pelosi's way. It seems to me, that the casinos have enjoyed letting the the online poker sites build up the interest in poker, and then sat by with a smirk on ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Bodog P5s Freeroll Congrats degen. I was at your table and you knocked me out with AQ vs. 55. One of those situations where being short I had to push and you had to call. Good call, but how unjust to get knocked out with "Presto". But shame on all the people that registered for this event and didn't show. Lots of people got locked out of this because of the 500 limit, and I was watching one table that only had 2 people actually playing into the 2nd hour. I don't know how the other tables were, but degen at least had to "earn" his chips the first hour and a half. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Bodog Crashes-when do they happen? Beanie Just got through playin a tourney on Bodog, and while you're passing suggestions along to them, might you mention the problems with tourney info and lobbies freezing up' It seems to happen frequently, and while I've gotten used to not knowing my "rank", it's frustrating to not know avg. stack, time to next level, # of players left, etc. etc. Especially in the latter stages. Thx Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Bodog Crashes-when do they happen? Sorry, not much help, but I appreciate you bringing it up. Now I know it's just not me. Mine crashes about once an evening, whether I have one or two tables open. The most frustrating thing for me, as mentioned above, is the not accecpting my bet, and autofolding. Of course, most of the time with a monster. Thanks for the concern sir, and I hope the input helps Bodog out. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
