Re(4): PXF or Cardrunner
The best way to learn poker either on or offline, is study. Decide what your focus is going to be. Buy the best books. Many of which are listed in the top ranked players profiles. Absorb evry thing you can during your reading. Then re-read it and make copious notes. I play limit 75% of the time. I have read some of Sklanskly's works 5 to 6 times. Find 4-5 online players that you would like to model yourself after. Rail them closely. Keep all the hand histories. You will learn far more, for a lot less money, than could by joining any poker site.

Re(3): Interesting hand from dise 100r....what would you do??
The limp and betting pattern told a story. Limping virtually eliminated an Ace type hand. A good player is going to put in a raise most of the time with A,10 or better. He would be extremely unlikely to limp with a big loser like A,rag in very early position. I think he raised a little too much on the flop for a set of 4's. He most likelt would've put BLoW to the test on the turn, knowing a pair of aces is huge longshot against a set. The bet on the turn really started to convince me that the A,10 was best and that my preflop and flop reads were correct. There was already ~20,000 in the ...

I really like his advice on playing without looking at your cards. Seeing a 10,3 offsuit can really take the heart out of the most courageous player. If you can't see what you have, you must make the proper play. I highly recommend you cover your monitor in a way that concelas your hole cards, has helped me immensely. #1 Online Player of All Time aBlackCar

Matusow is one uncouth son-of-a-gun. He thinks the stares you get, after a loud fart in a classy restaurant, are hysterical. Annie is just bitchy too often. She tries to be nice, but lets just say acting isn't one of her talents.

Re(6): What we're up against... the average American's view on online poker
For those of you wondering how passage of this bill wiil affect you. 1)It will deputize ISP's and financial institutions If you are making deposits into your account, it will be reported to authorities. If you are frequenting online gaming sites your ISP will be required to fill out a report on you. 2)If they make playing online poker a felony, it will scare away most of the fish! Not many recreational players are going to commit a felony just for the enjoyment of poker.

If you win and get to choose the coach, The Professor is far and away the best. Matasow and Duke, whilst good players are horrendous coaches, basically just parroting what they read and hear. All The Best Lou

Re(1): someone please help me....
Sounds like you play well on short money and splash around loosely once you get a decent roll. There could be a myriad of psychological reasons for this. Try cashing out all money over $200. Put the money away so that you can't simply redeposit. Take a day or two off after cashing out. Go back in with $200 or even less, that should keep you consistently playing your "A" game.

Re(16): Room for Rent during WSOP
If the price is too high, simply go to and book a hotel. Twenty minutes from the Rio, down I-15, nice, safe rooms can be had for an average of $27/nite at the Goldstrike or Nevada Landing in Jean, NV ($19 rooms on weekdays). They also have old time vegas prices on food and a $2 tip makes you a high roller.

Re(2): neteller vs firepay
Change your Neteller password frequently, at least twice a month. I prefer using a seperate browser and computer for secure sites, DO NOT surf the net with your browser that is specifically for secure sites. I never use messenger or open email links on my secure computer. Never reply to emails that appear to be from Neteller, Firepay or Paypal. Go directly to the site and open a customer service request.

At least Bodog bought dinner for the guy, IMHO that's better than nothing. It is not only your friend's responsibility, but everyones, to always have 2 backup plans when situations arise, such as the one described. Forgive me for being cynical, but I just don't buy the "nothing would work" excuse. Maybe at crunch time a solution was hard to find, but an hour of preparation would've most likely circumvented this disaster. I always have 3 hours of backup power ready just in case a blackout occurs. If the cable and phone lines go down, I have people in other cities that can take over the ...

WSOP rooms On The Cheap
If you are a cheap skate like me, there are some very safe, nice rooms for $19/nite about 15-20 minutes South of Las Vegas in Jean, NV . It is a very easy trip on I-15 to the Rio, wasn't so good for the Horseshoe downtown. Check out and thank Granny later. Greatest online player of alltime- aBlackCar

Esfandiari's "rocks & rings" is a "wanna-be P. Diddy fantasy land" that he and some of the leeches that hang out with him, live in. They play it out by spending 2-3 times the retail value of items at stores like sharper image.
