Re:Bot Busting
Honestly, I didn't pay much attention to the locations. I looked into what it took to get a bot, and the first one that showed up on google advertised that it would take care of getting bonuses for a player, so I'm sure that's what a lot of people use them for, but with the ease of getting one, I dunno that they would have to be from China. Also, the bot site bragged about features that made it difficult for the poker rooms to detect their use and that they would take aggressive steps in the future to ensure this as the poker sites made a more serious attempt to ban them.

Re:Bot Busting
Pokerstars, .25 .50, there was a pattern to their play. Anytime they raised pf, they followed with a potsized flop bet. If I called, they check the turn, when I bet the min on the turn they call. When I bet the min on the river they fold. This happened 13 times over the hour and a half I first noticed it. I obviously haven't been playing in a casino that long, but I started playing a 50 max cash game twice a week before the whole 'Moneymaker effect' and yes, I had to ride my bicycle there.

I didn't say it was a well performed experiment, but when there is a computer playing cards, certain patterns emerge. Min raising 8 hands in a row and winning the pot preflop all 8 times just doesn't happen in a legit game, especially at the micro stakes I play, where everyone has to see a flop. The reason I posted this was to more formally investigate it. As for paragraph form, I was writing a quick note to see if anyone else wanted to look into this, not a senior thesis or a letter to the prime minister of Zimbabwe, but thanks for the advice tool.

Bot Busting
So the other day I realized that all 8 of the other players at my table were bots. I started experimenting with different strategies and found a few that worked pretty well. I am interested in doing some research on exactly what the best strategy is for a table like this. (They aren't hard to find, look for a plr/flop percent that is ridiculously low.) I start Statistics grad school next year, so I have a strong quantitative background and am familiar with research procedures. I've been playing poker live for about 7 years, but not so much online. Also, finals end this week, so from ...
