Article: Behind the Scenes of "Bet Raise Fold: The Story of Online Poker"
we did this because we care about poker. this was not something we looked at as something to make money. this took time, effort, and a lot of money to put together. we would be insane to give it away for free. i would have preferred to actually light money on fire compared to that because it wouldn't have taken up the last few years of our lives. our endgame is that we just want to get most of our money back for embarking on this project....that's it. all that said, the price will be reasonable. less than $10, and i believe ~$7 if you pre-order the film.

Regarding the slowness of the site, we *think* it's totally fixed. The site was fine from noon-8pm Sunday / Monday and got super laggy after that.

Taylor Caby's new weekly fantasy sports betting site
Things didn't go as well as they should have last weekend. We got more traffic than we could have possibly beta tested for and there were a few things that hurt the site: 1. Code wasn't written as efficiently as possible. We were recalculating live stats in an inefficient way and it bogged everything down. It worked fine with a few hundred people on the site but not with a few thousand. 2. While we think we have enough hardware/server capacity, they weren't working together as well as they could be. We've fixed this and added more just in case. I can never be 100% sure things will work ...

They update daily for baseball and weekly for football. It will depend on the sport, but we'll try to make sure we keep a system that has fair prices but still leaves value to be had for sharp players.

Not quite. It's a salary cap fantasy sports game, but it's weekly contests instead of season long. We are also offering a chance to win $1m in a free contest. You can check out that video here: That's correct.

If you're curious about the legal aspect, here's some more info: - There's a Fantasy Sports carveout in the UIGEA. I understand why you wouldn't trust poker players. Ultimately you shouldn't play on a site where you don't trust the people managing it. We do keep our player funds segregated from our operational funds, there will be more posted on our site about this as soon.

BOOM Documentary - Post Your Reactions to Black Friday
Hey all, I have been working with Jay Rosenkrantz (DeucesCracked, From Busto to Robusto, The Micros) and Ryan Firpo (From Busto to Robusto) on a documentary about the online poker boom. We've been filming for six months so far and obviously Friday was a shock to us all. We would REALLY like to get some video reactions from people about what you think about Friday's events. We're going to include some of them in our documentary so we can get a real look at what this meant to online poker players. Post on our Facebook page: More posting instructions here: - Thanks. PS - Nat told ...

Live Cash Game---Gunshy with KK
if a super tight player takes this line then it's almost always at the worst QQ+ and usually KK+. most really tight players aren't taking this line with AK, they would just call your raise and then check/fold unless they hit top pair. if you were $500 deep to start the hand then this is a no-brainer to stack off. given you are as deep as you are, i would probably tell people on a message board that they can fold but in practice i don't know if i would. there are tight opponents, and then there are tight opponents that you fold KK to a limp re-raise. i just don't know which one you were ...

Your best bet is to listen to them, IMO, and find a new bank if you are going to continue to play online poker.

The skill level in cash games
The only way you can prepare is to study hard and to consistently beat levels until you move up. You could also take shots at higher games if/when there is a known fish and the game is likely softer than would be typical of that level. Keep in mind that it takes hundreds of thousands, more sometimes, of hands to come close to hitting "the long run." If I were you, I would: 1. Improve your multitabling skills. If you can't play 4+ tables at a time you are going to have a hard time getting in any sort of volume. 2. Study. Post tough hands to forums, use Hold'em Manager and a training ...

Penalized for Checking the Nuts at the WSOP Day 1 d
My friend was the guy who lost the hand. The lady won a Planters Peanuts contest to get into the main event and it was the first time she'd played poker (she'd played "cards"before but not poker). Apparently the TWO people who won the planters promo were both at my friends table, which seems really freaking unlikely. Anyway, he would have been busted had it been any other person because he had KK on KTT xx board and she had TT, instead he was left with 15k chips. He's now busted anyway, o well.

best training site for cash
with all due respect to DC i think our lineup is pretty incredible. we've been putting out at least 1 PLO video per week, every week, for quite some time now. as far as cash games go, just this week we've got stuff from jfish, myself for MSNL/HSNL, and we have some great SSNL stuff as always. Last week we had a high stakes video from Brian Townsend, and the two weeks before we had Cole South on high stakes fridays. Next week there will be videos from either Irock or INTERNET POKERS, two of our best new instructors. I guess my point is, I don't think we have been "holding ...
