2006 U.S.PC Devon Miller? saw this too, and was wondering the exact same things. Was poker paging lots of players in that broadcast and was wondering what happened to a bunch of them, but Devin Miller def stood out. Made such a quick splash at a young age, and then seemed to vanish.... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Is shipping here the right move? I could probably fold this vs most opponents, but with those stats of villains I am shoving. I would much rather have a bigger stack with more fold equity, but I think this should just be a value based shove based on there stats and the likely dead money in the pot from the blinds and antis and one of them folding. Def player dependent and with these players looks like a ship to me Posted in: MTT Strategy |

How would you play this hand??? This....and I would much rather check call. I think he is going to just fold if you bet or raise you you depending if he has the Q or not. Therefore you are not getting any value by betting. If you check he is going to bet with Q or as a bluff so I would check to induce the bluff. I think you really want to try to get to showdown at this point with this size pot, and check calling is the best way to ensure that. Posted in: MTT Strategy |

Awkward stack against station oop with AKo I thought of calling as an option but thought it was just too weak at the time. Good to hear a super solid winning player like yourself support that as an option. I agree that polarizing here is not too bad either since it is a much better option than getting in the spot that I got in. As for the spot that I did get in and will try to avoid in the future, my stack was so strange that I couldn't decide against a bet/fold and a bet/call. I knew I pretty much had to c bet so that these were my only options. You say I have to bet/fold, but after I c bet I am getting about 3-1 on his shove ... Posted in: MTT Strategy |

23-way chop? Nikkid, I was one of the players in this chop as well. I sat to the left of you at the end of day one and for the beginning of day 2. I had the Top Chef hat on. I had fun playing with you and you played very well. She sums up a lot of this in this quote. I am a live rookie and I could not believe how poorly this tournament was run. The staff literally stood there as players yelled at each other and over everyone taking the reins. It was very unprofessional. I had 900k at the time and the average was 850k. Blinds were 25k/50k with a 5k anti I believe. Some guy came up with a deal and as I was ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Analyzing my own MTT stats for better game selection....what tracking site is best? If the poker db is the best tool to self analyze my MTT game I will gladly pay the $12 for the month for this access. If anyone has any better ideas please let me know and if not I will sign up for the pokerdb. Analyzing my own MTT stats for better game selection....what tracking site is best? I actually don't use PT3, HEM or a hud. I had them for a while but I felt it actually made me lazy and decreased my observational skills. I only 5 table so I can see how these tools would be beneficial for mass tabling, but for a hand full of tables playing MTT's I am not sure they actually help. Maybe I should get one up and running again just for self evaluation purposes. Also if I did get PT3 or HEM would it only work for tournaments going forward or could I import all of my hh and tournament stats into it from the past''' I just tried to do an advanced search on sharkscope for one of ... Analyzing my own MTT stats for better game selection....what tracking site is best? I basically want to analyze my own play in MTT's so that I can game select better. I want and get a breakdown of things such as; 1)ROI for different buy in levels 2) ROI for different days of the week 3) ROI for tournaments starting at different times 4) ROI for rebuys vs. freezeouts/ deepstacks vs. turbos Are there any sites that really get into the nitty gritty and break all of this down' Are they free, or do I have to pay for them' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Really Tough Spot with JJ in lb after a raise and reraise late in tourney.... Final Table Bubble... I am obv planning on just moving in on the original raiser but then another player moves in. This player has 15bb's and I think he can be making this play much wider than JJ. I think that I am def ahead of both of there ranges but if I call I think it is likely that the original player will then call almost any holding betting a bit better than 2-1 closing the action. I don't love the fact of being all in three way here with JJ but I figure it is likely the best play. Question 1) What range is it correct to call all in here given my assumptions' Stage ... Re:Strange Spot....What is the best play here with this stack? Should I call or raise??? 1) I am putting this player on; a) Weak top pair b) Flush draw (maybe with a pair or gutter) c) Huge hand (small percentage of the time <10%) ..........really not sure though so any help appreciated 2) My play was to raise and get it all in if shoved -I figured that I had enough fold equity combined with my semibluff strength of the hand (likely about 7 or 8 outs on ave) to make this play profitable I'm not sure if I like this better than calling or not though especially since I am in position. Any help appreciated....will post results later. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
