Re(1): St Louis Poker... There's a new casino that just opened that I hear is super posh. Something like Luminaire Place. That's not quite the name, but it's something like that. I'd check it out when you're there. Harrahs is better than Ameristar imho. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): Crazy Hand at the WPT Tunica!! What did Dutch Boyd have? Ok Waco... you're one of the few players on here I respect, so I'll bite. How can it not matter what I had to make the play bad' Here's how it went down. I had 357k at the start of the hand. I had just dragged a nice pot with KJ against Freddy Deeb when he bet the river with Q high on an Ace Ten raggedy board and I called with the second-nut no pair. So now I'm under the gun... blinds are 8k-16k with 2k antes. I have AsQd and raise 3x to 48k. Brett calls in the cutoff with 88. One of them is a spade. Flop comes J32 with two spades. I Cbet, which is something that I hadn't been doing much of ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): **Official** Hatton vs. Mayweather in-fight thread At first I wanted Hatton to win... but when I heard all the boos during the anthem, I changed my mind. I was so glad to see Mayweather knock their champion out. America mother fuckers. Sorry Clay. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): Imperium.... JJ..... Zeejustin..... StakkAttack... you're a moron. There shouldn't be a background check to play poker. To say that these three should get banned from every cardroom for life is just stupid. Convicted murderers aren't held to that standard... I'm sure plenty of them walk into cardrooms and play poker all the time. And don't forget that murderers get parole. Just because someone does something once, doesn't mean they'll do it again. All three of them should be given the benefit of the doubt. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Open challenge to Scott Fischman (emptyseat88) Hey Ship. I talk to Scott every now and then. I'll definitely let him know of you're challenge the next time I see him. But I'll be honest... I don't think he'd really be into throwing down (especially since he'll be in Australia in January). You never know, though... maybe he'll want to take it upon himself to teach you a little lesson. Re(2): Starting over The idea of hot and cold accounts seems ridiculous to me. Except maybe the name of the account would change how opponents play against you... like having an account named Bluffmeister run cold while an account named TightNit runs hot. On second thought, no that doesn't make a lot of sense. There's no such thing as a hot or cold account. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Did I have the right odds to make this call?? You can't count the $4075 that he's calling in with the amount he can win. He's putting in 4075 to make a possible 6700. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Pokerstars Hundred Grand $10 buy in chop One time in Aruba, my brother Bobby was the chipleader at the final table in one of the preliminaries with 6 other guys. They all wanted to do a chop, but he had about double the next closest stack. He said the only way he'd say yes to a chop is if he got first place money. They all agreed to it. Re(3): Did I have the right odds to make this call?? Sheets has also said that pot odds is the amount of pot you have to smoke to convince yourself to call. On the flop you're risking 4k and your tournament life to win 6.4k. So you're getting about 1.5:1 ASSUMING that you're not drawing against a bigger flush draw. You should fold. Re(4): Main Event FTOPS KK 12 minutes into 1st level Figured as much, since you don't see many posts asking for hand advice where the hero wins the hand. But I stand by my response. Anybody who folds in this spot is a nit and isn't playing to win. In fact, I'll go one step further and say that anyone who says they fold in this spot are probably fooling themselves. If you're going to fold your QQ-AA, I guess you'd also be folding a set of threes, right' Whatever. There aren't a lot of flops that are better for KK than J73 rainbow. Sucks that you happened to run into the set. Next time, try to focus your will to bring a K on the turn. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): how big are you swings? If you want to cut down on swings, do yourself a favor and learn to play limit holdem. I used to multitable the 15/30s on Party for awhile... kept really good records with PokerTracker and the biggest downswing was $4500. I've heard playing NL cash games can be even less swingy, but I haven't played near enough hands to get a really good idea of what the max swings are. MTTs are the most brutal way to go imho. Re(1): I am a giant nerd - I play World of Warcraft WOW is the devil. I worked my way up to a lvl 16 Human Rogue before calling it quits. It could be worse. You could be playing Second Life. Or even worse yet, playing poker within Second Life. I know Jennicide has a pretty beefed up character on WOW. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): Main Event FTOPS KK 12 minutes into 1st level He doesn't have to have a set here. He could easily be betting a pair of jacks or even a smaller pair. My thought process goes... if he had a set here, he'd be a lot more likely to flat call since he's assuming your drawing either dead or to two outs... raising the minimum doesn't seem to me like he has pocket kings beat. I think the correct play is to flat call his min raise, then check to him on the turn and hope he bets again. If he checks the turn, value bet the river. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): alright, the GF's bday is coming up... You gotta get her something she can hold. I'd go to the mall and spend $20 bucks on a cheap ankle bracelet. Then make up a story about how it's been in your family for awhile. In three months she won't remember the musical or the dinner... but she'll still be wearing the anklet. Posted in: Off Topic |
