Why is government the only purchase that isn't subject to a volume discount' I think "rich" people should pay a much lower percentage of their income in taxes since they buy so much more government than people with less money. You pay less at Costco than the local store because you buy in volume, a company that buys 50 cars from GM gets a discount compared to the individual who only buys one car. christopher hitchens dead Anyone who didn't know Hitchens is really missing something. Keep an eye on CSPAN, they have a show called "In Depth" where they follow and interview someone for a three hour show. They had Hitchens on a couple of years ago (before his cancer I think) and it was the most impressive display of intellect I've ever seen on TV (though that's not saying much). He's very impressive and his autobiography "Hitch-22" tells the story of his development over the years, it's really something. They offer an educational opportunity. They market the service with future potential as the primary benefit. Students decide whether the cost/benefit ratio makes sense and attend or don't attend. ITT we talk cameras is a great site with a ton of good information. You can learn about different types and compare. The biggest thing is how much you want to spend and what you are truly trying to accomplish. Unless you are going to get into thousands of dollars, no digital SLR will be as good as the old style 35mm SLRs (the sensor is just too small). However, there are a bunch of very good DSLR cameras under $1,000. If you are completely new to photography, you may want to consider a cheap "bridge" camera. Does your wife sit there and pray for the souls of the aborted babies' The pregnant women who thought they were making the best choice' The doctors providing the service' I just don't get it unless they pray for it to stop which makes no sense to me at all. WTF is wrong with the GOP? The dems made a procedural change back in July/August to keep this bill from passing back then' I believe the dems had >50% to pass it and changed the rules so that it would require 67% specifically so it wouldn't have to be passed with the votes available. Without this bill passing do we have 911 rescue workers dying all over New York' I've been unable to find much information about the actual need for this expense since all of the stories seem to be about the politics. Standard federal government in my opinion: Take a group of people who everyone wants to support in theory and spend a bunch of money greasing palms of interest groups to pretend something important is at stake. Emergency workers who were injured on the job would be eligible for worker's comp coverage. Public service employees generally have excellent health care coverage and ... Re:How to tell people they sound racist I simply say, "Please don't say that type of stuff around me." They know they are being racist and if they don't, they will figure it out. One time at work a guy who was known for telling racist jokes stopped by and told me one, I told him I didn't appreciate it and that my wife was black. I've never seen someone change colors so fast.
