What's Wrong With the NHL.
- I agree with smaller equipment. Guessing it would reduce the amount of impact a player is willing to dish out. - Shootouts are nothing more than an individual skills competition. Leave that for the All-Star game. 4 on 4 overtime would be entertaining. - Get rid of the instigator rule and let the players police themselves. Love them or hate them, guys like Crosby, Ovechkin, Stamkos, Giroux, etc should not be fighting.

Hunter doesn't want the NHL, he is more comfortable with the OHL (London). Not sure about everyone else but I was under the impression that he may not be with the Capitals next year. Good/short stint with the big boys, could of been longer had he chosen so but that's his choice. Who is their next coach and does AO get to play his typical style of play or does he have a more defensive role like he did with Hunter'

TMLMS is right about this tournament and I'll tell you why. This is just a group of players that want to play more hockey but their respective NHL teams didn't make the playoffs or have been eliminated early. Secondly, majority of the big names (Crosby, Stamko, Nash, etc) aren't bothering with it because the NHL season was long enough and now it is time for a break. I believe all teams deal with this, not just Canada. Also, the Stanley Cup playoffs are still active so why would we be distracted by a tournament filled with players that got eliminated from the SC playoffs in the first place. ...

You, I & everyone else know the Blues are in too deep now. A wish is about the only hope they have and even that may not be enough. You guys had a GREAT season and as far as I'm concerned, STL along with Ottawa are the Cinderella stories of the season. With that being said every story has to come to an end. Good luck next year.

Was it ever. As much as I would like to blame Lilja, the Flyers did a line change at the worst time ever and pretty much left Lilja to deal with a 2 on 1. Basic fundamental and they fucked that up real good. Again, credit to NJD for playing a pretty sound game. Fuck....

Being a Canadian, hockey fan and furthermore a fan of a rival team, you know Montreal has figured out that they want to be both (and pretty much are whether people like it or not). It may not be the way most people would approach the situation but you can't argue with their record. It is a results orientated fan base and that will dictate whether Bergevin made a mistake or not.

The Flyers played as thou they were holding onto that one goal lead from the 3 minute mark in the first. Considering Philly didn't get a shot in the second until about the 18:30 minute mark, the score should of been a hell of a lot worse. Bryzgalov did a good job, the team ahead of him sucked ass and left him out to dry. Devils executed and great game plan and deserved more.

Not c Omparing teams, comparing the situation. 2) Hope to run 2, yes. Are in the position to run those same 2, no. Injury plagued one. 3) See previous post. 3 goals against in one period is not acceptable (to me anyways). Oh Lord. How many teams "plan" to' None. How many actually use a 3rd is another answer. How many goalies have the Leafs used this year despite planning to go with the Monster and Reimer' Would I of played Bishop if he was with the organization and one of the other 2 goalies was out' Yes. I will make this point one last time and you guys can run with it how you may. STL only has 1 of their 2 regular goalies. They had to call up a backup for Elliot. Elliot let in 3 goals by the end of the first period so I still feel he was worth pulling as the Blues will not put 3 or 4 past Quick in 2 ...

Wtf are you talking about... So you DON'T have confidence in your backup as previously suggested. Not sure what you are yammering about but I don't care who the starter is, you let in 3 goals before 20 minutes, you're getting pulled. Doesn't matter who their backup is at that point (it could be Albert Pujols as far as I care). Tell me the Blues didn't do this.....

Great, we have 2 co-starters in STL, one is out for the playoffs and the other had a subpar night. Now what' Apparently the 'right' answer is.....nothing because it never happens. That must be the answer to "why on Earth would you play a 3rd stringer". I'm pretty sure Boston gave Pogge some playing time a couple of years back with Thomas as the starter and Rask as the backup. They didn't win that year but the year after. the last time STL won a cup was....... Also, don't think Elliot or Halak played 70 games so that whole rest argument can exit this conversation. And I guess a 3 rd goalie ...
