Re(1): Its time for another game of 'What would you do" WPT $1000 Borgata warm-up... How big is his chip stack' How would we know who won' The larger his stack, the more likely I put him on 77. (Any mid pocket pair would do) The smaller his stack, the more I put him on AA KK QQ. I would have called. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): MULTI-TABLE TOURNAMENTS - TOP FIVE TIPS FOR SUCCESS! 1. Implied odds 2. Get a big stack 3. Raising 4. Calling 5. Reading the flop I disagree with 1,and 5 specifically on your list. There is also something weird about number 2 but I can't explain it exactly. You need to keep up with that, but it's not really important. 1. You want as many chances as you can to take a loose players stack. Bad calls are ok. 5. Don't be afraid to go broke. The final table is really the only time where you should fold a hand because you don't want to go all in. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Raising/Stealing with early limpers You don't steal from limpers. If the blinds are small, it isn't worth it. If the blinds are big, there is a reason that they limped in EP. You steal when it's folded to you. You steal from somebody who raises. Before you steal, realize what the players after you are able to do if they want to enter the pot. Are the blinds so big that there only option is to reraise all in, or are they just going to call. This determines the type of hands that you choose to steal with. If the only thing they can do is push all in, then it's best to raise with high connecting cards. If they can just call, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): final table $150 stars. Flop was 1095 two diamonds. Makes it easier to call an overbet from somebody who i'd been involved in a pot a few hands earlier and bluffed him off on the river. This is the second time I had a horrible beat when I was chip leader vs. somebody in the top 5 with around 50 to go, lose, get short stacked, and come back to place in top 3. :D EDIT: Glad to be playing poker again. I'm going to get my rank back! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Best CALL I have EVER SEEN I'm impressed how well he can discern made hands from semi bluffs, and his complete faith in his reads that allows him to make these tough calls with marginal holdings. A few days ago I was observing a hand which illustrates this strength. SR bets 600 (may have been 900 since 600 seems abnormal, but I remember 600) Op calls. Turn x<5. SR checks. Op bets 1700-2100. SR calls. River ~2. SR checks. Op bets ~3000. SR calls. Op ... Re(1): UNREAL stat/boast? My best performance was the weekend I won the 120K on UB. On Friday I played the morning 100 and won it. 5 minutes after that I played the night 100 and came in 3rd. (77 vs AJ ack) That sunday I played the 120K and won. How come poker isn't always like that' EDIT: I didn't mean to steal the thread I briefly looked over it and thought it was a discussion of best streaks. Woops Oh yeah for my worst luck see and have a laugh I know I did. Many drinks later ;) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Question about hand in cash game I believe he played the hand correctly. I wouldn't suggest raising here on a semi bluff, the pot is too small, and there are too many people invovled. You don't want to be all-in against a single opponent. You want callers. This is a great hand for a multi way pot. You want as much extra money in the pot as possible. If there is a reraise after him, I would suggest reraising all in when it gets back to him only if there is a call of the reraise. You want as much dead money going in the middle as possible on the flop. The worst case scenario is a higher flush draw staying in. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): HELP Experience. After you tilt, think about what happened after you cool down. Why did it happen' How can you avoid this from happening again' Before you sit down, think about what happened in the past and make it a point to not tilt again. If you see the same thing happening that caused you to tilt the last time, stop playing for the day. Sometimes you may need to take a break. The key is to realize why it happens, and figure out how to prevent yourself from repeating the past. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Bax,BRsavage,Samenole,Nsxt, sheets, awwnuts, Fox... I open myself to your criticism Things you need to consider in every poker hand. This is a small list at the top of my head, I may make a more detailed list in the future. Your position. How can you best utilize your position to avoid a trap, to catch your draw, to steal the pot, to maximize winnings, to narrow your opponents range of hands. Your opponents position. Does your opponent understand position' Does he use it effectively against you and other opponents' How can you minimize this advantage' Does he ignore it' If so, how can you use that to gain an edge. Your opponents betting patterns in previous hands. You ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(6): hand question...what to do? Because there are 2700 chips in the pot, and he has enough chips to make the initial raiser fold many hands. Reraising position raises late in tournaments when blinds are big is an important part of tournament play. EDIT: This post wasn't advocating pushing all in, merely illustrating why you should consider reraising. In a hand like this, your decision is based almost entirely on your opponents actions and tendencies, and not your two whole cards. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): hand question...what to do? I would just like to make one comment that sort of touches on this hand. Typically during the middle stages of the tournament, I cringe at reraising with Ax on a steal. It is right in many cases, but only when you know the opponent has a wide range of hands they open raise with. I would much rather reraise with K10+, because you leave yourself in better shape when you are called by anything except monsters. When you are called by a raiser with Ax, you are normally way behind. (pocket pairs > x, and aces with better kickers) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

UB is the best Yesterday I finally decided to come back to poker after having too much fun during the summer. I was playing a 1/2 NL cash game when I got a royal flush. It's then I learn that they discontinued the highhand jackpot. The next day I log on and it's back up and running. Aren't they too cute. One addition to the story. I got a royal flush on UB a few months back when the highhand jackpot was still in play. It was 5 minutes before the jackpot reset. Why won't they just let me have it once! Re(3): Underage players. correct, appropriate gambling takes maturity. Maturity that many underage players lack. Bankroll and time management, not just poker skills. They may have the poker skill, they may even have the necessary life skills, but the majority of them do not. Therefore there is a flat ban imposed. Gambling can ruin your life if done incorrectly.
