Lock Poker purchase of the Cake Poker Network
Merge has been holding my money for months despite repeated withdrawal requests. They say they are experiencing "processing problems." I assume that means they don't have the money for payouts.

Re:LOL @ FTP support response to server lag on sunday during absurd mini-ftops (emails included)
After their software update in July, I couldn't see hole cards -- either mine or opponents' cards when we went to showdown. They refused to provide a refund. Give me a break, FTP.

Re:Shouldn't FTP give me a refund?
Well, the good news is that I did get a reply. The bad news is that the reply was "no refund." And I disagree with the guy above who said that seeing other people's cards at showdown is a perk. It's pretty important to learn what kinds of hands each of your opponents are playing. Not only is it important, seeing the cards at showdown is just part of the game. If other players can see the cards but I can't, I'd say that's a pretty major disadvantage.

Shouldn't FTP give me a refund?
After FTP put out a big software update in early July, I played a few SNGs where I couldn’t see my hole cards. That problem cleared up, but then I couldn’t see other players’ hole cards whenever hands went to showdown. I e-mailed FTP a bunch of times while this was going on to ask for help in fixing the problem, thinking that the problem was at my end. FTP of course never responded. Not too long after the problem cleared up in August, I learned that the problem had been pretty widespread and was a result of a bug in FTP’s software update. When I learned that the problem was FTP’s doing, not ...

Re:DEEP in mini FTOPS plo
I'll say it again for you. Yes, it turned out that OP was the favorite because FS played it so bad. But OP didn't know what FS had, and there are lots of hands where FS would have been the favorite going to the river, such as if FS had top pair and a higher flush draw. Trust me, if you keep getting most or all of your chips in when you're only 55-45, it won't be long before you lose.

Re:DEEP in mini FTOPS plo
Agree his play is terrible. Still, look at your own play. Did you really need to make the bet on the turn' You had the draw with only one card to come. If he had a set, did you expect him to lay it down' Or he could have had something like top 2 and the flush draw. Maybe you should have protected your stack and checked. Just saying there's more than one way to play this.

New poker show coming...
Sam's Game (as in Sam Simon). It has comedians and Playboy bunnies. Never thought I'd see Artie Lange and Jennicide hanging out together. The show looks terrible!

This kind of thing has happened to me several times on FullTilt. When I've e-mailed them, they've kindly assured me it's my fault, not theirs. Never happened to me on Stars, though.

Suspicious? or is this guy just this good?
I’m looking on OPR at the stats for iggymcfly on FTP. His heads up Omaha PL stats are almost too good to be true. (No, I’ve never played him.) Looks to me like he started playing HU in January playing mostly $58 HU tourneys with a couple of $115’s and $230’s thrown in. Then he starts playing $1030’s this month. He wins the first 10 he plays. He also had a nice streak of 12 in a row at lower limits in January. Then things start to even out a little although he’s still winning more than he loses. I admit I’ve seen so much stuff on FTP Omaha tables that doesn’t look right to me, so I’m ...

Washington Post series, Part 2 now available online
It’s pretty dry stuff. Basically it says what we already knew… whether online poker in the U.S. is illegal depends on who you ask. Hint: the Department of Justice is not our friend.

Washington Post story on AP/UB
the Post and 60 Minutes did the investigation together, this pretty much tells you what's going to be on the 60 Minutes story. Here's the thing I found most disgusting regarding AP (this is probably old news to some): "Unbeknown to the players, AbsolutePoker had already cut a secret deal with the cheater, whom it characterized as a "consultant with managerial responsibilities." The company agreed not to release his name in return for a "full and detailed explanation" of how he cheated, according to company officials and other interviews. AbsolutePoker also ...

Re:"60 Minutes" Story On Online Poker
I think there needs to be a 60 Minutes investigation of the 60 Minutes legal team. Since when is online poker illegal in the U.S.' Maybe in some states, but certainly not everywhere.

Re:Full Tilt ripping me off well over 1k
What I don't understand is if my internet connection is routed through 5 to 30 third party servers why I don't have connection problems with other sites. I guess the other sites have figured out how to route my connection through the servers that actually work.

Re:JJProdigy (Karma)
What’s wrong with “associating” with cheater'. Here’s the answer… My guess – purely speculation I admit – is that associating means you’re accepting transfers of funds from the cheater. While the accomplices are saying they were just being staked by the cheater, in fact they may have been helping the cheater launder his winnings. The cheater probably doesn’t have a bank account he can withdraw to (since his account is set up with a fake name), so he transfers $ to other people who can then send him the funds. Thus, these guys may be doing more than “associating” with JJProdigy; they may be ...

Re:gg Full Tilt
Was playing an FTP tourney a few months ago. Was dealt a royal flush for one of the few, if not only, times in my life. I could watch everyone's action but the system wouldn't allow me to bet. I timed out. Meanwhile, two people went all-in. FTP's response to my e-mail... "not our fault. But good luck at the tables in the future." Gee, thanks.

Re:60 Minutes story may end up being big trouble
Nate, it's not intended to be scare mongering. It happens any time companies come under investigation. Sometimes it's the whole industry that gets hit, sometimes it's just the individual company. In this case, it may depend on how 60 Minutes spins the story -- whether it's one bad apple or it's an entire rogue industry.

60 Minutes story may end up being big trouble
My fear is that we’ll see a ton of people trying to withdraw their money as fast as they can after the 60 Minutes story. The sites may be overwhelmed with withdrawal requests. You think things are slow now… Also, the sites may not be as liquid as you think, i.e., they probably don’t just sit on the cash that people deposit. The money may be tied up in investments, so they may not even have enough cash on hand to cover the withdrawals. I hope I’m wrong.
