Re(3): Very frustrating day for bfactor... What do you even learn by playing a $4.40 tournament' That you are better than someone who barely even knows how to play the game' And worse you probably get horrible beats by flopped bottom or middle pairs that end up hitting a river card for trips or two pairs to beat your top pair, because these calling stations cannot fold any pair. Move up to at least $11 SnG's and you'll be much happier for it. I usually play $10/20 SnG's and whenever I drop back to play a $5 game, I do not understand the play at this level and my ROI becomes negative. I now only play $5 games when it is late and no ... Re(1): My Final Hand from Aruba Tourney Based on the info you provided, Chris Bell with 40K was the only other person who could seriously cripple the tight guy with 45K. You have to respect the UTG raiser with the possibility that he has a big hand and so I assume tight guy wanted to see a flop first instead of risk getting reraised preflop if he runs into UTG with a big PP and putting to risk almost all of his chips. You pushing all-in with a 25K stack in the SB could mean either you have a big hand or just trying the Harrington squeeze play. Once the other two big stacks folded then tight guy knows they obviously didn't have ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): after a million bad calls........ Re: "FINALLY MAKE A GOOD ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I think you made a horrible call even though you managed to win it with bottom pair and no kicker. The only thing you could realistically beat was a bluff and even though your opponent did not have a made hand on the flop, he had 15 outs and favoured to win the hand. There is a reason why you play $3 games and it is frustrating for that other player that you could not lay down your hand. If you fold on the flop you still had 22K stack with BB at 1200 so I cannot see how you can even justify it as a desparation short stack call. Oh well, I suppose ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Full Tilt $150 Final Table Hand Here is a similar situation early in a tournament with someone who has about the same stack as mine. Preflop I genuinely put him on AA or KK on how he played it preflop with the min raise and then coming over the top of my reraise. And even when I flop TPTK I did not take his small bet on the flop as weakness, but more like he was sniffing out to see if I hit a pair of Kings so that he can extract more chips from me if I showed strength. I was thinking of raising his $200 bet on the flop by an extra $500 or so, and folding if I got some action back which would confirm my initial read. But ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(6): The constant play and study...it's paying off! If your read was that he is aggressive and really thought your K high was good then it was a great call. You got him to make a bluff bet for more chips than you could have won had you led out and bet on the turn. But you said that he can also play a trappy style and even trapped you earlier and this same betting pattern can also be indicative of someone slow playing a big hand. He could have easily called preflop in the BB with 67s for an open ended straight draw on the flop, caught his monster on the turn with the 5 and checked behind you to appear "weak", and then throw out a huge bet on ...
