Re:Investigation by Full Tilt It is ridiculous to expect players to not talk about hands, players tendancies, etc., live pros have always done this, and that is what hand histories are about. Once that information is out there it is just like discussing hands/players amongst live pros. What FTP needs to do rather than what they have done, is stop the datamining companies, if that is what they deem to give an unfair advantage, I'm sure they can easily identify them. However, all of the database software is available to anyone, so is an advantage really there' Maybe to the uninformed, but hey, isn't that the player ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Help me w/ this spot, trying to get better at cash games... I think the check/raise would of been fine, I prefer to be-out to start building the pot and then you'll often get information from the rest of the players acting after you. Also, IMO, at these stakes, a check/over-call is a big tell of a fish on a draw, the good players won't pay you off when the flush hits; even worse, often the fish check the turned flush giving any sets a free card to make their boat, then they bet-out on the river and call the paired board making mistakes on every street and losing. Re:poker in london jaaaaaack is right, remember to join the casino/club first (you have to be a member to play), but membership is free and can be done online, however, you might have to show an address or utility bill when you get to the caisno - as a student not sure what you can show them, mobile phone bill at your mailing address might work, just ask what they will take. Supposed to have dress code too, so pack a polo and khaki's or such. I play at The Casino at the Empire, Leicester Square in London, Harrah's owns it (WSOP ME site), nice place and not too expensive for drinks or food. They just ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Playing pairs is it really profitable to play all pairs? Huge other consideration - will the other guy pay you off' If they can lay down an overpair, and you won't make 8x's the bet (they are a tight predictable/smart player who only opens with the big pockets) then you can consider not set mining (particularly if you try limp/calling with small pairs). Plus more variations than this, but I see this mistake A LOT - even more so on flush draws. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Odds on Palin getting dropped after donking it tonight I'm US citizen living abroad, I'll be voting. I find the views on the election/candidates through non-US media interesting, a prespective you might not get back home. She held up alright. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Odds on Palin getting dropped after donking it tonight Agree with Underdog34. If McCain goes down - yikes! You think it's tough with Arab countries now ..... I never liked Biden, but in similar case - ok. View from over here (England) is much of the world is pulling for Obama, McCain is another Bush to them. Hate to be negative, but I put Palin making us squirm/cringe at 6:4. Nonetheless, interesting replies. Thanks all. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Odds on Palin getting dropped after donking it tonight I agree with mrmenlo15, he can't drop her now. Choosing her really changed my view of him, he was tolerable before. Now he has to ride it out hoping she doesn't totally bomb. If she can hold it together it'll come down to the pres. debates and on which party can mobilize it's voters best - usually Republicans. Then I think there are some key delegate states as per Gore/Bush. Posted in: Off Topic |

Odds on Palin getting dropped after donking it tonight Dems had chip lead before Hillary and backers donked it at the Nat. Convention. Reps surged when Palin was selected. Reps lost chip lead when Palin started speaking. Will the debate tonight felt Palin or is it too late to drop her' Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Would JJProdigy fold here? (Tough $50 nl full ring spot with KK, am i a donk or genius) Like people never have AA ... you folded corrrectly. How often do you see AA beat KK all-in preflop, everyday, because all these people on this site keep saying never fold KK all-in preflop. Sometimes you know. Go with your read, KK is not the nuts. Re:Poker and paying tax (UK players only) A court here ruled last year (or 2) that poker is a game of chance, therefore, how are they going to get around the decision if you show a pofit as a major source of income' A poker player went on trial and he asserted that poker was a game of skill, the jury thought not, they deemed it to be primarily a game of chance. Re:Stay at home dad, and make money playing poker? Is this possible? I stay home with three kids, with one that little I think your are overestimating the ease of it all (playing cards while caring for a toddler), I have some light at the end of the tunnel - mine are all in school fulltime now. Firstly, the old Party Poker days are over, there are still some fish out there, but the games are a lot tougher to beat. Secondly, get a plan and stick to it - stakes, number of tables, sites, times of day, etc. Thirdly, dont' try to catch up when a session goes badly by staying up late - all tables getting crushed/bad beats/suckouts - as this WILL happen, everyone ...
