Attention Full Tilt Poker(FTP) users, advertisers, users, sponsors, and executives I can't say that the sites don't make mistakes in closing accounts, but I really find it hard to believe that a noob can jump in and 9-16 table (profitably). It's just not that easy. One hypothesis is that the bot is being used in the early-to-mid stages of MTT/SNG's. Then OP takes over during the mid-to-late stages. This could negate the claims that OP plays more tables than the bot can handle, so it's not being used. Different tourneys could be at different stages, making it possible to run the software at select tables. I'm not one to make a judgement without completely knowing OP or the ... AK and QQ 6-Max or FR' As a 25NL 6-Max reg, I find it hard not to pay all but the tightest players off in these situations. You're gonna get it in as a dog some, but just too many bad players sticking it in with hands you crush to fold too much. Not sure if you use a HUD or not (I do), but this can help you locate the "light-shippers" a little easier. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Cash game question/how many buy ins I play 6-max NLHE micro cash games (up to 50NL). My BR management is pretty nitty to say the least, but I won't move up without 40 full buy-ins for a level. I would prefer to have 50-60 just for comforts sake. After over 400K hands of experience, I can tell you that a 10 buy-in downswing (even when you are playing well) is not out of the ordinary. My largest downswing ever was 16 buy-ins. With any tilt issues at all, which can come into play pretty big at cash games, I would think it would be very possible to go broke on a 20 buy-in system in no limit games. I double my bankroll ... More cheaters on FTP!!! I got the same email and a small refund today as well. I primarily play low stakes 6-max cash - I play less than 20 small buy-in MTT's a month. I don't think I would have received this much from MTT's, so I'm assuming it came from the cash tables. I saw a thread on the other forum that was discussing Full Tilt uncovering some people running bot programs. There was even a post explaining that a particular bot software forum was blowing up with users who had their accounts closed and funds confiscated. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Possible Hacked Account - Any of You Know This Full Tilt Player? So I get a text from a friend of mine last night around 9:30 PM EST...... He tells me I have to pull up his 25NL 6-Max table and check out a player going crazy. I pull up his table and there is a player sitting to his left w/ the screenname PUT Js in OWEN. I watch for about 30 minutes as the player loads $10 at a time and is shoving every hand preflop. My friend told me that he started out buying in full, but soon dropped it down to $10 (I guess to make it last longer). The player occasionally gets lucky and doubles up, but soon gives that away and reloads. Fast forward to the end of the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:The Best Poker Books Out There? The best I've read as far as influencing results has been "Read 'Em & Reap - A Career FBI Agent's Guide to Decoding Poker Tells" by Navarro/Karlins/Hellmuth. Will pay for itself in your first live session. Online play changes so often, that I don't know that books are the way to go. Forums are free and they are constantly updating so that you can keep up with the latest trends. I've read about every book out there, and I can assure you that you can pick up better information in the forums. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Call a 4-Bet Shove Here? I play mainly 6-max cash games and don't put in a lot of tourney volume. Had a spot last nite in a $5 KO on Full Tilt that I thought you guys could advise me on. Seems standard, but wanted to double check. Opponent in the hand is running 31/26 after 16 hands, so he's been pretty active. I play a typical TAG style and I don't think he had seen me do much other than possibly raise and take down the blinds once or twice. The following hand goes down w/ 174 peeps left. I'm around 100th ATM and it pays top 108. Winning the hand would give me a top 20 stack. Full Tilt Poker Game ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Advice on my Statistics I agree with you. I think this was meant to be more of a reference point for normal conditions. You definitely could have to be twice as active or half as active, depending on your table. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Advice on my Statistics Looks very solid to me. Maybe on the tighter side of TAG (not quite nitty, but close). Anything over 3BB/100 is a pretty good IMO. I saw a video a couple months back on LeggoPoker that said VPIP 18/PR 16 was optimal for 6-max - but I'm not quite sure for full ring. It looks like you are beating the game at a good enough rate to be adding some tables. Once you get comfortable with the additional table, you could add another and another, etc, but that would definitely increase your hourly and also helps to keep variance in check. Re:Turn play???? I'm more of a cash guy than MTT guy, but I think I'm looking for a check-raise here and hope like hell they don't both check behind. Seems like whichever one is holding the Jack will have to bet to protect against draws. A check-raise from you will signal tons of strength. Someone coming over the top would help you identify the boat or possibly someone with a huge combo drawing hand, and possibly let you get away from this without getting stacked. The calls on the flop are either drawing hands or monsters and you have to get some info on the turn or risk disaster. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Running Up A Sick Amount of Money In A Short Period of Time As a bankroll nit, I trip when I read these stories about people running up insane amounts of money in short periods of time. There is currently a story on about someone doing exactly this: / Not that many people would duplicate this feat, but just wondering if any of you would be willing to share your stories about running your money up using similar tactics' Did you cash out or donk it off' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:NL cash river spot question Fold. You beat nothing that called your UTG preflop raise and would raise this river except a bluff. This is exactly why it is problematic to play hands like KJ and K10 - hands that are easily dominated. Opponent either has KQ or a boat (I think AK would've 3-bet you preflop). Re:Getting drunk while playing My fold button seems to shrink or completely disappear when I'm playing drunk online. Considering I'm pretty TAG sober, this makes for a lot different experience. I would call it LaggroTard. It works until the rest of the table figures out that you must be drunk. I have cut the drinking way back since starting to play online regularly. The two just don't seem to mix. Live is a different story (you have to do something to pass the time when you're only playing 25 hands an hour). Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:What's the plan (Live 1/2 NL) kinda long it's more detailed than anything 150 BBs + I put villain on the flush draw. He could very easily show up with something like A9 here also. The 5 is unlikely since there is only one remaining in the deck, and there aren't a ton of hands out there that call the preflop raise with a 5 in them anyway. If I'm unlucky enough that he has a 5 (and his kicker plays) or 99, then I'm getting stacked. You pretty much have to bet $80 or more to give Villain the incorrect odds to chase the flush and if you're going to bet this much or more, you might as well shove it. No way you can get away if you put $80+ in the pot on the turn. ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Phil Ivey posters I am a rep for a large-format digital graphics company in NC and something like this would not be a problem at all. We do alot of NASCAR-related decal work, as well as produce posters, decals, super clings (better known as Fatheads), vehicle graphics, banners, floor graphics, etc. The only issue I see would be image rights and Full Tilt getting pissed about printing images of players and/or their logo without their consent. Finding an image with resolution good enough to prevent pixelation when it's blown up can be a challenge. People pay big bucks for high resolution images and ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Engineer - Help Request! Just got off the telephone with Representative Mitchell Setzer (R-NC). This was a great telephone call - here is the summary: I began by explaining why he received the letter, discussed the pending legislation and the opportunity for states to opt-in or opt-out, and also the skill vs chance argument. I also explained to him what the Poker Players Alliance was and why we were fighting for this legislation. He was very open-minded. He said he did not play poker, but didn't see anything wrong with it. He talked about a cousin he has that plays and that he wouldn't mind learning how to ... Posted in: Poker Legislation |

Edit: North Carolinians, Please Read! Engineer - I sent out the PPA letter this morning to my state representatives and Representative Mitchell Setzer (NC) left a voicemail for me to call him back to discuss the letter. He left his office and home telephone numbers. I'm sure he will use this discussion with me to help decide whether this is something he wants to support, so I wanted to make sure I lead him in the right direction. What key points do you think I should make while speaking with him' Any other advice' Thanks. Posted in: Poker Legislation |

Re:Face the Ace on at 9pm NBC I was almost embarrassed watching this......embarrassed for the pros and embarrassed for the game. It has to be fake/over-produced. I can't remember how many hands were shown, but for the monster hands to show up the way they did - this has to be set-up. Maybe 50 hands were shown and we saw AA atleast three times, KK atleast twice, and QQ. I know that doesn't happen to me when I'm playing. Re:deep stack cash game hand, do you fold kings? I don't like sticking 150 BB's in with one pair. I'm pretty nitty and it's not an easy fold by any means, but if you're a winning player to any degree, I think you can find a better spot to get nearly your whole stack in there. Against someone that you have seen get out of line, this may be a snap-call. You've described him as a solid/aggro player which makes me have to give him the benefit of the doubt. He has made $50+ in this session (second in chips to you) and he's one of three stacks that has more than a full stack at the table. In a lot of cases, this ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
