Re:huge overbet, do i call with AK I disagree withI the top post. I think you made the correct call and here is why. Blinds and antes total 9600. He shoved around 68,000. This means his M was actually right around 7. This is getting pretty close to push/fold mode. Based on position if he feels he doesn't have a great table image or isn't sure how the table will react to a standard raise, he can shove a wide range of hands. IMO Ax-AQ is WELL within his range. It is probably just as much in his range as 22-JJ or so. I think gambling here with AK vs the (slight) overbet is probably the correct play. Albeit a little loose, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:50 players left in 180 s&g with AK... Get in there and GAMBLE! My style in these $12/180 donkaments is to gamble, gamble, gamble. They are turbo structure and the blinds just go up way too quickly to give anyone respect at the early levels. If you can stack up, you can steal sets of blilnds quickly at the deeper levels on players trying to "survive and make $23." I'm in to win, and I've actually won several of these. The style of play in these is just to gamble, and I think this is a great spot to stack up while AJ and AQ is well within his range. Final question, was he a Scandinavian' LOL. Re:Bustout hand of $50 ($50k gtd). Is raising PF +EV? I would actually just limp behind and try and set mine based on your position at the table. You cannot shove from this position, because your M is well over 7 at this point, and there are just too many players behind you to act. Throw in the 200, if it gets raised, make a decision and decide if you want to flip, most of the time you'll see a cheap flop. If you were on the button, or in the blinds, and there was that sole limper, I would possibly just consider a shove, and pick up some Fold Equity. I'm not sure I like the 3x raise, it's inviting action, or even a reshove... and ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Good Fold? I really like this fold. There are too many variables here to consider. You really have to figure someone has a solid pair, and do you really want to go in 3 way here on AK' It's still relatively early on in the tournament, you have a solid stack, i'd toss as well. You want to be initiating the action IMO on AK and not really calling off 3 way action. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): fold aa here? This definitely a sick spot.... I probably shove here also.. First push has JJ i think, 2nd push, unless you have a sick read on him might have the set but he could also have QQ or JJ or even Ace 10 if hes a moron. Any other thoughts' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): best line with QQ in position??? Yeah- There is no way you're going to win this pot. But you have to be very careful. Don't m ake that weak reraise Pre, because you're inviting that 3rd player into the pot as well. You HAVE to shove to make the isolation, which you were ahead 55/45 PF and about 75/25 after the flop. Make sure you don't invite that additional player in, because he could draw out a set on you with 9s or 10's and it's GG you. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): best line with QQ in position??? I think this is a pretty easy one. IMO with your stack size you shove it all-in in this spot and hope for the best. Both of your opponents could even be sharing cards on AK AQ AJ or something similiar. Let's look at the math. 1350 (from blinds and antes) + 3600 from the raises= 4950 in the total pot. In my opinion, you're giving up way too much fold equity to make a reraise to around 5 or 6K and then be left for a decision. You'd be left with waaaay too much odds to give up the hand after a 3 bet anyway. You can't smooth call, because you're now allowing AK to draw out for cheap. Back to the ... Advice on the Smooth call?? $16 18 person SNG.. 8 left. don't care about bubble- I play to win. This guy had been raising any position (look at his stack). Saw a few times he was going it on marginal hands out of position. 90% of the time I probably toss this hand PF and move on, but is my play ok' Is there anyway I could jam him all in, even to his UTG raise, due to my previous knowledge he'd sometimes been doing it w/ rags' Any info appreciated. Re(2): Am I supposed to just shove this preflop? No way- Get in there and jam this hard now- That has to be the flop you are looking for. Of course KQ is a possibility, but I feel that at the $2 level, and in his position, he is probably check raising if he hit the wheel. Any thoughts Sandler' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Jack Jack Jack Here is how I would have played the hand- I would have reraised out of the SB (which I consider my least favorite position to play out of)... I would have probably reraised to about $5.50-$6, and if he comes back over the top, I have a decision to make, which almost positively would be a fold for me at that point. If your opponent isn't the "i'm going to gamble any two suited cards" type of player, he folds to this reraise. If he is a chaser, you can then chalk this up to a cooler, because there is no way you're getting away from it after the flop. But the reraise pre is an easier way for ... Re(2): What's your play here? I hadn't even read the rest of that- Noticing he had 66 and that you timed out. Tough to say after what I just said if he would have called all his chips off on Sixes, but chances are he probably wouldn't have, so I think my analysis is correct. Re(1): What's your play here? I actually disagree with the way you played this hand. At this stage of the tournament, with blinds pretty high and only 4 players left, you want to try and turn into the aggressor as much as possible. Here is how I would analyze this situation. My motto is to try and shove shove shove when the "M" or multiplier is about 6 or less in these situations. Obviously, you don't need to do it everytime, but I feel like this was a perfect situation for it. Try not to be too results oriented, because obviously you could get burned, but more often than not, you're going to come out ahead. Let's do some ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): 1-2 NL hand I really like your fold here- It is very disciplined... The UTG limp could be a number of things, but mainly in this situation, it is probably a mid pocket pair. I think his min raise on the flop was a play trying to "keep you in the pot." It seems that your opponents mentality on the turn was that he finally realized the board contained many draws, and he figured there was already a very nice amount of $$ in the pot, and was trying to protect against his set being cracked on the river. It is difficult to know if you do not have any other reads on this particular player, but I would almost ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Good stop and Go? Or stupid to not reshove? Thanks.. I stop and go'ed this hand with 900 chips out of SB. I think it was the perfect play, let me know if you disagree... Let me know if my mentality to smooth call and shove any flop is the correct play- obviously this backfired because a K hit- but naturally I'm hoping no K or A hits and I can isolate to HU or 3 handed, where preflop all 4 would have been in the pot, correct'!'
