Re(4): rookie $2.4k for multitabling 1-2 NL. That's no good. You'd be putting 25% of your bankroll at risk when you sit down. I didn't even think of mutiltabling 1-2 until I had $3500. You should have at least 15 buy-ins for NL cash games you play. That would be $3k for 1-2. If you have this kind of cushion it frees you up to play aggressively and not worry about dropping a buy-in to a bad beat or whatnot. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Dumb Question ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just use the miniview because I like knowing how much someone bets out right away so I have the few extra seconds to decide what to do. Plus, it is great for multitabling; wish every site had it. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): i need help calming down A bad run on a site such as bodog or Party is especially sickening. My advice would be to get away now. Stop playing and do something else. Diverting your attention to something else will calm you down. Don't think about poker again until you're in the right frame of mind. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Nice fold Sir I know, that's why I basically said most bodog players are pathetic; because of stuff like this. Someone from party would have probably called in this situation thinking their pp would take the whole pot. I was just noting the subtle difference in how much the players at these two sites suck in order to answer you're question at the top. I guess it was rhetorical. Oh, well. F beanie for making me look dumb. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Nice fold Sir No, man, the players there are just a little better than at party. When I play cash games at bodog most of the players will respect a raise and lay down (unlike party), but once they see you've bluffed or raised a lot of pots they will go after you and call you down with damn near anything. Cheers. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): UB Does it again! I dunno why anybody would bother playing in the regular tourneys there; the big buy-in prize pools have done nothing but shrink. With their great software they could easily become the biggest site if they had bigger guarantees, but they would rather just screw the tournament players that are already there. You have to spend more money to make more money. You'd think that they'd know this by now; every really high-traffic site does. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Not Just a Bad Beat Video They would definitely be more cautious since it's a live event; especially since it's THE biggest live event. I think brsavage mentioned how he is more cautious in live events in his p5s interview and I've heard it mentioned by other pros as well. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Not Just a Bad Beat Video I think you nailed it on the head when you said "He thought he had the best hand." Now what could have led him to think that' I think he thought he had the best hand because of the min raise. As in your last clip you are again raising too low on a flopped flush draw. This is a case of you not protecting your hand. When I get two pair in this situation you can be sure that I'm going to raise pot at the very least. Most of the time, nothing screams "set" or "two pair" more on a flush draw board than a hefty bet. The other really important factor here is TheRelentless' style of play and his chip ... Re(9): help... Ok that last post settles it. You need to stop playing... forever. Think about your situation for a minute. What's more important' Spending all your time winning $10k in a month that can easily be lost (as you've demonstrated), or doing well at a great college so you can go on to get a good job with a guaranteed salary and lead a well balanced life' I think the answer is pretty clear. Re(10): help... Well you're obviously a good player; you just need to learn to manage your bankroll. If you can't do that then it probably is best for you to stop. You just have to remember that playing poker is an easy way to make a hard living. The money doesn't come in that easily without also being lost that easily. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): How Do You Overcome A Bad Run? There are lots of things you can do. I would first recommend taking a break from poker for awhile; maybe a week or two, so that when you come back you feel rested, relaxed, and ready to play again. If you don't want to wait I would consider dropping down a level. Also, because you've been on the skids for two months it's definitely time to reevaluate your game. First, think about the holes in your game and how to improve them; read up on strategy and get advice from players that you know are profitable at your level of play. Next, find out where you make the most consistent money and stick ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): My Big Call Good call, dude. Nice to see someone else that picks up on the antics of the crazies at 1-2. The $25 bet on the turn was extremely fishy as was the short wait he took to push all-in. With this kind of aggression I would think he'd come over the top of your flop bet if he had the 9. This is a guy who is just screaming that he doesn't want a call. Kudos to you for picking up on this. I would advise against sitting down with your entire bankroll on 1-2; it could easily be gone in one hand. You should have AT THE VERY LEAST $3k for 1-2NL and that's if you're an extremely tight player. If you get ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(11): A Quick Poker Quiz ... on Video Yea, that vid was pretty sweet. I would have bet close to the pot right on the flop to take it down right there. Anyone who just flat calls that is most likely on the draw and afraid to overcommit themselves. Usually when the case card for the flush comes on the turn I shutdown. If it doesn't come on the turn I push there and that usually drives at least the good players out and it at least gives you the better odds to win the hand. I almost never bet into a flush board; I like to see what the player does on the river. Usually an opponent will check on the turn for a made flush and bet on ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
