Hailing from Costa Rica, Felipe Montenegro is a multiple Triple Crown winner who had an exceptional start to 2008, winning the Full Tilt $750k Guarantee for $135,000 along with the PokerStars $25k Guaranteed. In July '08, he took down the Full Tilt $100k Guarantee ($100 rebuy 6-max) for another $35,500 and the Stars $100 rebuy tournament for $25.7k. In April '09, Felipe won the Full Tilt Poker $150 rebuy event for $72,200 and followed that up with a 2nd place effort in the Stars $100 rebuy for $58,700 a month later. He also has a win in the UB.com $100k Guaranteed Deep Stack for an even $25k (June '09) and subsequently chopped the Full Tilt Poker $750k Guaranteed for another $72k (4th place) in August. In February '10, "improved" took down the UB.com $150k Guaranteed for an even $52,000.

He has a runner-up performance in the UBOC Sniper NLHE event for $32,800 plus a win in the Full Tilt Poker Friday Night Fight for $31,300 (August '10). Final tabled SCOOP events in back-to-back days in May 2011 for over $100,000 combined.

In March 2013, Montenegro final tabled a $216 NLHE Multi-Entry FTOPS event and walked off with $13,000. Two months later, he took fifth in the Full Tilt $350K, which was good for $18,000.
