Re:Accounts Hacked, Lessons Learned Unfortunately, somewhere in the neighborhood of 90% of all Identity theft in the USA goes unpunished, and a lot of times when the culprit has been apprehended. Police know this and have too much to do already which is one reason they don't pursue these types of crimes very heartily. I agree that it's BS, but it's the way it is. Thanks for posting this and I hope that a lot of players in the community (even the random donks like myself) learn from your misfortune. Best of luck in the future. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Tough spot in Stars $12 180man turbo Stoney, I don't think I agree with all cheers for "INSTA SHOVE DUDE". All depends on the previous 2-3 orbits and what has occurred. Why shove on a player that might be steam rolling everyone when you are 4th in chips and he/she has twice your stack' I don't really care who the player is in that spot, unless you know your playing against a total tight wad that could fold AJ. Obviously I don't know, because I would raise 3xbb, flop 2 pair and get flushed out of the tourney by someone holding Jc3c!! Se la Vie!! LOL Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:First time ever seen! Like I said, not accusing you of being a superuser, just saying that it looks like one of those hands that were being used as evidence of a superuser. Please don't think I'm making accusations.......you superuser you......LOL!!! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:satty's to sunday majors...... I don't know how much cash tables you play, but if you have a store of FPP's I like the FPP qualifiers. Played 3 this week and unfortunately I had a 7th, 2nd, and 2nd out of 27 (only top spot gets in), so had to go play golf this Sunday instead!!LOL. There are a lot of different FPP qaulifiers to choose from as well. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Card Dead - What to do? As Doyle says "When Luck shuts the in through the Window!!" This is a time to really practice stealing in position. From what I've watched of the great players they can do this better than most and that is what keeps them in the game when the cards go south! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Sick spot in Mil......... My guess is that he is putting you on a flush draw with 2 overs. He is shipping to get you off the hand, obv. and doesn't necessarily need to be strong. I think you are still open to losing all your chips to TT, JJ. He thinks you have AK/AQ clubs and with 2 overs and a flush draw, he doesn't want you seeing the river. Just a guess of course...and obviously I'll get more from your posts then you from mine (thanks by the way)!! Edit: now I just saw the results.....I'm a donk...and lovin it!!! Still good fold IMO, no matter the show. LOL'd at the I just saw this.......gl ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:WHATS GOING ON HERE????? stealing $ from several acounts or what? Seems to me like someone had a way to open up multiple accounts, deposit with fraudulent money, and was trying to consolodate them to make a run at big stakes. Can't really see any other reason why someone would do this. Of course I don't have a criminal mind and am mainly just baffled by this obvious dumping. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:General strategy question for MTT specialists I once read a quote from Annette that said "there are two types of opening hands, those that you will fold to if shoved on, and those you can call with if shoved on" Seems pretty simple but breaking down your example, if it were me, I would only be opening fairly strong...say AJs+, 99+. I think that if your opening in this spot, you need to be able to call the short stack, and when you do, you need to be at least slightly ahead of their range. Also, a good portion of these hands, AK+ QQ+, are what you would need to call the large stacks should they shove on you. Good thought ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): $12 180..Any grinders out there? These are my favorite SNG's on the web. Although you have to endure plently of swings and bad beats, they mostly come from the fact that you have to be aggressive. I'm guessing that I playe d close to 300 of these and won my fair share and tons of 2nd-4ths. I've also had 5 180ths....just the nature of these. You can be chip leader with 3 tables left and not make the money.....it just happens!! However, what no one else seems to be saying is that sometimes that works in your favor instead of your opponents. I've also been 41st out of 42 and come back to win. If your going to play these, my one ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Rebuy Strategy Personally I like to base my decision to re-buy right away on the rest of the table. If most re-buy right away, then I will do the same. However, if say only half the table buys right off, I'm likely to just play my original stack and try to play more aggressively than normal. I like this situation better which is one of the reasons I even play these. IMO the following works to my favor when I don't rebuy right away: 1. Players that doubled their chip stacks early are more likely to go fairly deep into my stack and pay off good hands..for 2 reasons..they have the chips....and not re-buying ... Re(1): Infant Watching While Playing When my son was six months old, I would use my wife's breast feeding pillow (don't remember what they call them) and just let him lay over that and watch and sleep. He loved it and would always sleep real well right there. Getting pissed while playing wasn't even an option at that point. However, once they get to be a year and start to talk.....you might as well wait till they go to bed to start playing...unless you have an uber-wife.....anyway, establish an early bedtime right off the bat and stick to it....this will really help your poker game in the long run. Re(1): Poker Edge?? Thanks for the info, I thought I had heard of it being banned by Stars, but was not sure. I play mostly Stars, some FTP and DBPR. Right now I use Poker Tracker, but no PAHUD. I have a hard time getting the best info out of PT (setting up player groups based on statistics and finding the info in general for any given player). I play mostly $10-20 SNG and MTT's so am looking for something that does well with tournament players. PT tracks the stats well, but I seem to have a hard time putting it to practical use...and like was stated...if you don't use something...your already at a ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): honestly did i play this that badly? I don't think you played this bad at all, it just so happens that you got them to make horrible calls on the flop and turn by betting a small amount. Then you made the right move when you knew you were not only beat, but there was no way to take this pot down.....you folded. So they got lucky (at least Azzkicker did).....anyway sometimes you have to play your big hands for value and sometimes to take the pot down....I for one think you played this just fine. Re(1): Home Tourney What we use that works well is: Starting chips = 100 Blind structure: 1/2 2/4 3/6 4/8 5/10 (2 rounds) 10/20 (2 rounds) 20/40 (2 rounds) 40/80 (2 rounds) Each round is an orbit of the table deals. With the cap on blinds coming when the BB= 10% of chips in play. This is a fairly aggressive blind structure and is best when you are only doing a single table. The advantages are that since the rounds grow shorter as less people are at the table, you have the chance to play more than one tourney (if someone is knocked out early they can deal to speed it up more). With 8 people this should take ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Stars or me? I've noticed that sometimes when I play 2 different sites at the same time that one or the other seems to have connection issues. It's obviously not your internet if one site is staying up and the other is "blinking", I'd say it's a conflict of the 2 sites using major bandwidth and your processor having to choose one over the other. Re(1): Do you play AA in this spot? Avery, I think the reason you are getting flamed here so much is because most of us are gamblers. If you have any gamble in you, I think you want to push here and try to take the chip lead (which would be a sizeable one if you were able to double through the big stack). My real question is "What will you do next time you are in this situation'" Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Mucking cards Thanks for the responses, The real reason is that I pulled a move to put someone on tilt at a local tourney. It's a game of about 30-40 run each time there is a holiday during the week. (all the atty's and judges in the game have Monday off). Anyway there is a guy there who in the past has been very cocky and full of himself and his 'poker skills'. So in the first 3 hands he runs over the field in 2 of them with outrageous bets, so on the 4th or 5th hand, I limp in EP with AJc, he raises pre and I call. Flop comes J high rainbow and I bet he raises I call. Turn a blank, I check call. River, I ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Club Hellmuth (what a joke) Being full of himself is what Phil H. does. Most of you must not have heard all the "respected" pros talk about Phil away from the table. And yes it seems he is a business man first and a poker player second......at least that is how he comes off with all his propoganda. I guess what I mean to say is he is who he is and that is what is great about poker, you can be what you want and when you sit down at the table all hats are off and it's person vs. person. Take you vengance out on the tables!!! Posted in: Poker Discussion |
