Re:Raise/Re-Raise amounts in Lower stakes vs. High stakes MTT's
1 - Doesn't this hurt your image and make you more vulnerable to the advanced plays (see 4)' 2 - Very fair point. 3 - I understand that against weaker players they can be outplayed, but by the mid/late stages of the tourney tables are stacked with strong opponents. 4 - Advance plays such as isolation, squeeze, history creation, are there others' I know that you need to do this to go along with when you actually have a strong hand, so your saying that these things would occur with as much frequency if the 3-4bb bets are made'

Re:Raise/Re-Raise amounts in Lower stakes vs. High stakes MTT's
See that's the crux of it though. We all know that we only get super premium hands a small percent of the time. Most of the other time we are getting cards that may be very playable but most of the time vulnerable whether they be mid PP's or hands like QKo, JK, JQ, JT you name it. JJ will see an overcard on the flop 52% of the time. Most often than not we are raising with these sorts of hands. When we raise it's almost never purely to steal the blinds/antes. We raise with that prospect but also we raise with cards that warrants the sight of a flop if necessary. However, I find ...

Raise/Re-Raise amounts in Lower stakes vs. High stakes MTT's
Hey I would love to hear from all players about something I've noticed while railing and playing. I've noticed that in alot of the Major tournies that players are more inclined to raise ~2.5bb rather than the three in the mid/late tourney stages. I really don't get why this occurs, especially considering often the barrage of re-raises that occur when a 2.5bb raise is made. Although I wouldn't have any official stats, it seems to occur alot that someone will pop it up when there is a 2.5bb raise. At these stakes these players know what they are doin, but they must be ...

If DSchec is calling every hand I doubt a RR is gonna get him off. On top of that your only getting 3 to one and looking at something that has you beat. Fold.

Deep in tourney with a tough decision
Played the $26 13,500 GTD on Full Tilt down to 30 and this situation arises: Sitting with 21K. Blinds are 800/1600 with antes (cant' remember) I'm 4 from button and get As9d. I haven't seen a hand for a while (so I've got a tight sort of image) so make the 4.8k raise hoping for the steal. SB calls. SB has been playing the standard tight sort of game. Flop is 2s5s8s. Check from SB there is 11k in the pot What would you do'

Re(1): What would you do in this spot?
With 100 players still in it, I'd still be in the game for chip accumulation. Your not playing just to cash, your playing for some final table action. Now you have to consider what your ahead of re his range. AA/KK your behind, but can still suck out 20% of the time. Also, we rule out AA because there are better ways to get you to pay him off if he did have AA. QQ is a tie. JJ/AK/AQ your ahead. Given he's the CL and the pot being so juicy I wouldn't rule out a shove with AQ here. Now, you getting 2-1 I think it's clear you should call. KK is the only hand that warrants the action he's ...

Re(1): AK OFF VS 1010 FINAL TABLE?
He's raised it to 50k for a reason - he is committing alot of his stack because he is willing to commit his whole stack. Otherwise he's only raise to 15-20K. He is effectively saying "if you try to push me I'ma be forced to call" You can garuntee that your in for all of his chips. So of to the race you go. I would call/fold not only based on his chip size but also the others at the table. Have you still got room to move' To move on other stacks'

Re(1): Playing A10 and lower...
Agreed. It's not about the outcome but the risk to return. He's made the strong bet and your out of position. He could easily be holding AK/AQ/AJ or have a PP that has you travelling to 3 outs. You can only forego the disadvantage that your in by having a deep stack (I mean deep, 200BB. Even then you need to be prepared to get off your hand if the bets stay strong.

Re(1): JJ early in the $30k
I think quite the contrary, early is when you want to tango, especially when you have a hand. JJ ain't the best of the bunch but you can still play it out. I would call at least the flop, Ax can bet out here with 10 outs, your still ahead of that. And with the stack sizes, you can afford to re-evaluate on the turn card if your worried about QQ/KK/AA, you have position. If I had a read that the player is tight then I'd may even re-raise and put the pressure back on him.

Re(1): when to get up from a cash game?
Don't think about the Money and think about your focus. If your thinking about leaving for any reason, then leave, as I find when I'm ready to go I'll be inclined to gamble a little more. If your sitting at 1700 and are still focused on playing good poker, then stay and rake those fish. But if you feel like you've had your fill then leave, as a little more might be nice, but if you've lost your focus you're more likely to leave with a little less.

Re(1): royal flush draw... thoughts?
After seeing the flop there is about 5k into the pot. Magician puts a bet 4k in You call 4k jsousey puts 9k Magician raises to 21.6k so there's 40k in the pot. you have to call 12.6. Magician has 10k behind. Where you stand you have 40k behind. So someone has an Ace, so let's assume that dude has your worst possible hope, which is AxKh. And someone has a set, putting the pressure on you to score your Flush or straight draw (so absolute worst situation you have to hit). You get about 30% to take down this hand. Now the 12k to call actually goes to a side pot. If Magician has the AK then ...
