PLO FTOPS #8 can i fold river?
Yeah. I just have a problem folding pre in 6max PLO :). As I think about it, I dont mind a pot 3bet preflop. If he shoves, its almost 100% AAxx and I'd fold. Who knows, the disciplined thing is definitely to just muck the hand pre. Yeah..my plan was to check raise a lot of turn cards. Its certainly a good flop for me against his range, I just think there are a lot of turn cards where I get a good amount of value out of a turn checkraise. But when the A comes, its weirdly not a great time to checkraise bc there arent a whole lot of hands he calls with if I checkraise and he actually ...

PLO FTOPS #8 can i fold river?
lol dude, relax. a few things i disagree with in your post: 1) he could easily have AA or KK with a preflop raise in early position. 2) "obviously you cannot fold if you checkraise" what am i beating' 3) "check calling is soo weak". isnt weak what we are going for in some spots' 4) i have "fold equity"' think you need to look that term up before using it. im assuming your not saying a check/raise is a bluff fair. just thought it was the best way to get the max value against a guy who was playing a lotta hands and was capable of bluffs on multiple streets. i think ppl play hands so ...

PLO FTOPS #8 can i fold river?
yeah, i see what your saying and this is why i think it could be a fold on the river. dont know that im good enough to fold on a blank river, but the fact that the Q does actually fill some hands that were bluffing the flop and turn, like hands with QQ and JT, i thought it could be a fold. a set a fair amount of the time and then a filled bluff some of the time as well. i dont love a small bet on the river, i think a good player will raise that bet a lot with air. not sure though. i guess it could be a fold, thanks for the thoughts i can reraise preflop or fold as shanetrain ...

Re:What to do here in PLO
against an evenly distributed range across top two, any set, and a couple wrap type hands, you have about 20% equity. not a very good spot clearly... **%2C8T**%2C55**%2CTT**%2CQJ9T%2CKQT9%2C9768&h3=&h4=&h5= pretty great tool btw for those that dont know it

Re:What to do here in PLO
i dont think its possible to be drawing to 4 outs. your either drawing to 2 outs (if he has a set thats not TTT), drawing pretty much dead (if he has TTT) or like at best 40% to win the hand against like a QJ9T type hand.

Re:PLO tournaments
IMO, PLO tourneys and PLO cash are completely different, so most of the PLO cash books wont be all that relevant (not saying they wont help understand basic concepts though). re: stack sizes, you can get away with flatting with a much smaller relative stack in PLO than you can in NLHE. also, the concept of fold equity is a lot less relevant in PLO as most people wont be bet folding like they could in NLHE. re: the pot bet, you should just not give any info away with your bet sizing, whether its a pot bet or not. and you cant be afraid to play big pots in omaha, a lot of times ur just gonna ...

Re:What to do here in PLO
check/fold 100% of the time...only time to ever not check fold bottom two post flop is possibly heads up. but in a multiway pot, especially on a board that lends itself to a lot of big wrap + pair hands, just check fold and wait for a better spot. in general also, unless you have a shallow stack (where you can check raise and get it all in), post flop play out of position is very hard in PLO. obv you were in the BB so its irrelevant here but just as a general rule, position is very key.

PLO Semi-bluff from PCA 2K Tag-Team
So I was playing in the 2K PLO/PLH Tag-Team event when the following hand came up during the PLO part. I want to hear some PLO players opinions on this, as it seemed like a good semi-bluff spot to me. Certainly not "necessary" play to make but is it good out of the box thinking or just a bad play, end of story' If you think its just bad, please explain why. I dont remember the exact specifics but the following is the basic idea. We're playing 6 handed and I'm in SB with KQ95. Guy UTG limps, I complete and BB checks. Flop J-5-2, all diamonds. Check, check, check. I notice ...

Re:do you call? PLO hand
this is a pretty sick spot and it sort of just depends on how much gamble you have in you. its very close odds-wise. if he for sure has a straight, folds probably slightly best, but with the chance that he doesnt it might be worth it. stating the obvious but just sayin... it comes down to how much you are going for 1st and how well you play with a big stack vs a short stack. in a cash game, this is a fold, but for me at least, in a tourney, il play here just so that i can chip up and start raising a little pre...

PLO Cash Game Question: Can I fold?
Just sat down to a deep 1/2 6-handed with antes PLO table with $400, and the very first hand went down like this... I had posted blind in cutoff. SB makes it $6, I call. My hand: Qs Td 4d 8c Flop: Qc 8h 2s He bets, I raise, he calls. Turn: Qh He checks, I bet, he calls. River: 9h He checks, I bet, he check-raises all in. At that point I have to call about $175 into a pot of $625. So I have to be good there 22% of the time or something to call. Should I fold the second nuts to his river check-raise''''

Re:Could isildur1 be cheating?
another interesting theory.. "Such is the mystery surrounding this new menace on the high stakes scene that speculation is rife about his origins, with one of the most outlandish suggestions appearing on a Finish news source called Pokerista.fi. There, it is claimed, Isildur1 could even be a conglomerate of some of the best players in the country who have methodically studied Dwan’s game and are implementing a game plan whereby they lure Dwan into long sessions where he is more likely to make mistakes while the team can rotate, remain fresh and pile the pressure on their victim"

Re:Thoughts on this PLO hand...
i dont think this is the easiest fold in the planet. assuming he has nuts, your equity is 50% against 4-7 and two randoms and about 35-40% against hands with an 8 or 9 in it as well. given u'll be putting in about 90 into a pot of around 120 (maybe math is wrong but too lazy to check), i dont think its terrible to play. close imo.

Re:PLO - Is it more profitable to bet river?
sets are betting/raising the flop/turn, so a set is pretty unlikely here, imo, esp on such a draw heavy board. this is partly why im so against betting the river. would take a real hero to call with a hand that you have beat here. and i just dont think you win enough when you check/call to make that right, but i guess its possible against certain opponents

Re:PLO - Is it more profitable to bet river?
the ol block bet. if you think they are likely to bluff (and maybe you have a bet sizing read too, like they would never pot this river for value), then CHECK/CALL! why would you ever want to keep them from bluffing into your best hand''''''

Re:PLO - Is it more profitable to bet river?
why' hes not beating anything except for a bluff. at this level if someone's willing to bluff into a 4 way pot, i say let them and find a better spot.

Re:PLO - Is it more profitable to bet river?
definitely the right check, and probably a check/fold to be honest. you arent beating any hands that are value betting. heads up probably check/call but in a 4way pot, i think check/fold is best.

Re:Shortstacked PLO Query
yeahhhhhh so true, playing short in omaha tourneys is the worst. which is why i call and play just about any flop that comes close. i still dont think its worth jamming though...i dunno, i guess its a preference. its sick but you'd have to fold some flops..might as well just see a flop and go...its almost always getting in if you hit, but you save yourself when you dont come close.
