May MLB Discussion Thread No O's game today so lets just watch Jim Johnson buckle Mark Trumbo. Also, I dont have the same affinity for WAR and defensive metrics that some of you guys do, but as of today, Fangraphs' WAR calculation rates Manny Machado with 1.7 WAR, good enough to be the 5th best player in baseball so far this season. May MLB Discussion Thread I know his career stats against the Angels are ridiculous, but hes no where near the player he was when he put those numbers up with the M's. His MiL numbers look decent this year, but Ive heard that his stuff hasnt been great, hes just using veteran savvy to get through AAA lineups. Hope he shows up today though. The Orioles have played 20 straight games without a day off, and this is the 10th game of an 11 game west coast road trip. They just look fucking exhausted out there.
