yes, technically stack sizes are big enough, but isnt buttons range wide enough, that it makes it unprofitable for me to just call like that, as he will win most hands when its just overs unless its like 677 or so. also, when i do hit, he probably wont have a huge hand to pay me off with. am i right or am i wrong'

i dont know how to play this. calling seems bad cuz i would probably just check fold most boards and if i hit, i wont get paid off enough times. thats my thinkin anyway. raising doesnt seem great either, cuz i dont know what i would do if he shoved. button has been raising sometimes, hes not crazy or anything. $100+ NL Hold'em Tournament, 200/400 Blinds, 50 Ante, 6 Players SB: 26,450 Hero (BB): 46,491 UTG: 31,232 MP: 9,023 CO: 6,584 BTN: 15,789 Pre-Flop: (900) 33 dealt to Hero (BB) 3 folds, BTN raises to 1,050, SB folds, Hero '''

i dont know if its as easy as a fold as u think. if shorty doubles he has about 60k and the guy w AA doesnt have a huge stack either. i would fold this if the guy had 3 blinds or less probably.

if this guy is rlly tight, then u have to decide that he has AA, KK. i think these 2 hands are much more likely than TT, JJ, and AK because of the min 3 bet. now, because u know this, just try to set mine. i know it would be extremely hard to fold with all unders, but u have to go with your preflop read. this is only if u have the read that he is very tight. edit: i dont really like 4bet/folding ever. youre turning your hand into a bluff. edit: actually if youre deep enough you can 4bet/fold, but you are not.

i think youre supposed to pay taxes for the state youre a resident of, so you wouldnt have to pay nevada for winnings before your move to vegas, but you would have to pay taxes for the other state

i think he has 46 or a random 5 most of the time. he either thinks you have an overpair and thinks youll call him, or he thinks you have a flush draw when u called the flop and doesnt want to get drawn out. or maybe a lil of both.

I think this is the perfect opportunity to get lessons from these guys, and dont forget Daniel Negreanu. Id also want lessons from menlo and annette too. and get a lesson from Joe Navarro too. then play in a few wpts and see if u can apply what u learn.

i made this not because how he conveys his opinion. i did it because im wondering how 2 great players can have 2 totally different opinions on blocking bets and wanted to have a good discussion. lets try to end the bashin and talk about what was supposed to be talked about. just to spice things up i found a brian townsend article about blocking bets. here it is somebody link this. u have to search for "townsend". theres a bunch of articles.

it gives more money to the fish, which makes them play more, which gives more rake to stars. if it was top heavy, less fish get money and less people have money to play with, thus less rake for stars.
