Live PLO tourney question
Planning to play my first live PLO tournament when I head to Vegas in a couple weeks. Along with making sure to be very aware of what is in the pot to properly bet, my other big concern is how often I may have to check my hand. Does the average live PLO player look back at their hands' In NLHE I only have to look once but I am afraid I will not be able to do so playing live Omaha. Is it common for players to make one, two even three looks at their hands' Any good tricks to remembering your 4 cards in one look'

Re(2): Does playing a lot of SNGs affect MTT play
Would you say that SNGs can also help you for the early stages in an MTT' Or, are they completely different animals except for closing out a final table as you mention above'

Re(2): Does playing a lot of SNGs affect MTT play
Do you think that a SnG(up to the bubble/ITM) represent how you would play an MTT until the mid-way point....Primarily tight/aggressive' Alot of SNGs wrap up around 100/200 or 200/400 which is considered early mid/middle of an MTT. This is the time that seems to be the point where you must drop the tight/aggressive approach and loosen up much more. My problem(among others) is carrying the SNG strategy too deep into MTTs and I end up getting a stack of 10bb or less and not chipping up enough....playing too tight.

Re(6): How can you win?
Wow, my perception of early middle is waay off! So it sounds like up to there, you want to work a tight/aggressive style, see cheap flops in position with connectors etc.... Then at early-middle of the tournament, shift gears and start open raising when it folds to you in late/mid position' Start looking to blind steal/resteal etc, take more 60/40s and flips' I know that all these things are very situation dependent but, the really strong MTT players always talk about these being essential to chip up and play for 1st. Is it here at 100/200 onward that the successful players pull out all the ...

Re(2): How many of you guys hide your holecards online?
This is a great idea! I do think that poker sites should develop their software so that your cards are dealt face down and are shown to you when you put your mouse over them.

Re(2): Deer in the headlights-itis
Very helpful post avidone! Wow!..... I think realizing that it is a low level anxiety attack is very crucial to understanding how to fight it. I mean my breathing doesn;t become short, I dont have numbness in my hands etc.....but this is a form of anxiety none the less.

Deer in the headlights-itis
This is a disease I have been suffering from recently in live games. The last few live tourneys I have been in, I have been focused, made good reads maintained a pretty solid stack UNTIL..... I am faced with a hand later on where the blinds are bigger(200-400) and it could make or break the tourney for me. If I make a raise or re-raise preflop that gets called. The flop will come and I will be bewildered as to what to do. My mind will be racing but not clearly but in a fog. I will be looking at my opponents for tells but not able to analyze anything.....I am paralyzed!! Example, pretty ...
