Poker Maximus blind structure problem This was probably one of the most tilting nights of poker i've ever played. Not even down much, but the blind structure in the 2 maximus events i played made me stack off in other games out of sheer frustration. There was essentially two big blinds being posted each hand, so the rest of the table used it as an open invite to limp. 5 players to an unraised flop was the norm. Hated it. Golf Gambling Dilemma The bolded part is the entire reason that I asked. I was obv aware the 2 new guys didnt know how our usual bets worked and wanted to be fair. The reason I posted on the next page was because I had talked to Shane and was given his side of it. I don't even remember that 2 sentence exchange with the 4th guy, so I didn't include it into the OP. After hearing him say that, I can see how a non-gambler might think he's on the hook for only $7.50 (from me saying seven fifty talking about a $10 wager.) As far as my "story writing skills". Golf Gambling Dilemma Nah it's always dollar bets on dumb shit. If you hit a fairway bunker somebody will give you like 15-1 on a dollar to get up and down for par still. We usually just add it up at the end of the round and it's not too much. The problem was 2 of the guys in our group today weren't the guys we normally make these kind of bets with. After talking it over I got some clarification. As I was lining up the putt, the fourth guy in our group had said to me "why don't you guys ever do ten dollar bets'" I said to him "because are you gonna pay me seven fifty'" Shane says he only caught the end of that ... Golf Gambling Dilemma Thanks for the replies guys. Pretty much confirmed what I was thinking. In the future i'll def be takin some of the advice ITT and layin out the terms exactly before makin a bet with somebody who i don't wager with regularly. As played i talked it over with Ryan. he said "you gotta get paid on a putt like that" and is payin the full $75 regardless. We agreed that Shane can give whatever he feels is fair. Golf Gambling Dilemma LOL i knew somebody would answer like this. It's just stupid props we always make, by the end of the round somebody usually owes the other like $10-$15 and it's enough to cover dinner and a beer. For ex. long putts we'll do this or short par 4's we'll put like 50-1 if we can drive the green. Just makes it more interesting. Every once in a while, like today, it has the potential to pay off bigger which is why we do it. FWIW I honestly think Shane did not understand. Golf Gambling Dilemma Hey guys just looking for a quick opinion. Just got back from a day of golf. My buddy Ryan (who was in our foursome today) and I always gamble during our round. The other 2 guys we were with aren't big gamblers. On the 9th hole today, I had a 55 footer for birdie. I call out "Anybody want to give me 75-1 odds on this putt'" Ryan accepts immediately (We always make long odds props like this.) Losing my AC virginity! Any advice appreciated. Haha my bad. The whiskey king burger is probably the tits. Just seeing the name revel will forever tilt me though after that experience. And jaybone, you're way cooler than me so it's just obv that you have a sick experience there. We actually talked the guy at the door down to $20 per guy and $15 per girl and still went inside. Losing my AC virginity! Any advice appreciated. The midnight tourney at the Taj used to get a good amount of people if i remember correctly. It's a long walk down the boardwalk from Trop but i actually don't mind it. And you could always cab it for like $20. Borgata is easily the best poker room though, and if you want to play cash it's the place to be. If you're looking for a place to eat at trop, go to Carmines. Delicious food and the portions are humongous. And somebody said go to Revel. Don't do it. There's no lights. It's overpriced, and the place is an absolute shithole. It sounds like you maybe aren't as tight as you think you are and should focus on playing better hands and in better position. Opening up your game doesn't always mean playing more hands. Can anyone remember their first ever Game/hand online? Tiger Gaming, doubt anybody even remembers that site. I signed up for an account with play money and they gave me a free $5. It was 2004 and I was a freshman in college. I had read a little about poker strategy, so when i sat with the entire $5 at 5c10c i was opening my entire range at any position with a raise to 1$ pre-flop. Life/Job Problems Don't know if anyone can help you with a major transition in life, but all I can say is don't work in sports. I worked in sports journalism for the last 2.5 years after college and finally quit a month ago. People would always tell me "You're so lucky, thats a dream job." No. The people are miserable (Think the kid who got picked last in gym class who sees covering sports as his way into their world) The hours are miserable (A shit ton of late nights and weekends.) gf arrested (weed related) You don't even need a lawyer but you should probably get one. a small local guy will do. She's going to get to talk to the prosecutor before being called up. The judge will give her a conditional discharge, 6 months of probation plus an $800 fine.
