Link to Negreanu's string bet
Whether or not it was technically a string bet is open to interpretation. But this much is sure: Negreanu meant to raise Deeb knew that he meant to raise Deeb had a crap hand and tried to see the flop cheap on a technicality Negreanu was NOT angleshooting Deeb came off looking like a whiney female canine (kind of ironic as he was holding K9)

The “Crisis” is not the Crisis!
The government didn't make people take interest only loans. The government didn't make people borrow more than they could afford. The goverment didn't make people saddle themselves with a ton of consumer debt. What happened to personal responsibility' Why do we only talk about the government and the bank's role in making a bad loan and not about the people that shouldn't have borrowed the money in the first place' I do agree that the crisis is a natural correction to the current situation. But a big part of this correction will be in the way we as individuals look at our ...

I don't understand why people quit their job without a plan. If your job sucks, find another one, or have another plan, and then quit. It's not that complicated.

Don't make your decision on what will make you win the game. Make your decision on what would make the kids progress more. It sure seems like you have lost sight of this: "Yeah, it's all for fun and it's all about the kids"

So I found an apartment in NYC.......now, I should ???
We used to go to Olive Garden once in a while as poor college students. Free refills on sodas, soup, breadsticks. So we would just order a cheap main course and push it off to the side as we pigged out for 2 hours on soup and breadsticks. Then we would get the main courses and leftover breadsticks in doggy bags for the next day. The key is to order more breadsticks after you are done eating so you have a full order to take home. Ahh, those were the days...

Myth: Democrats are spenders and Republicans want small government
President Bush's statements on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction Readers may not recall exactly what President Bush said about weapons of mass destruction; I certainly didn't. Thus, I have compiled these statements below. In reviewing them, I saw that he had, indeed, been as explicit and declarative as I had recalled. Bush's statements, in chronological order, were: "Right now, Iraq is expanding and improving facilities that were used for the production of biological weapons." United Nations address, September 12, 2002 "Iraq has stockpiled biological and ...

Myth: Democrats are spenders and Republicans want small government
For the record French troops have fought next to ours in the Gulf War, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan (and are still there). But of course those were part of true coalitions. Also, in the months leading up to the invasion of Iraq the inspectors themselves said that they had unimpeded access and just weren't finding anything. Jacques Chirac never said he was against military intervention if the inspectors found evidence of WMD. In fact his last stance on the issue was that we should give the inspectors 90 days more to finish their work. But the war machine was already in motion. Yes, ...

Myth: Democrats are spenders and Republicans want small government
Well, we could go back to the last time but it was during Eisenhower's first term and it was 20 years before I was born. But both houses of congress were controlled by the Republicans for 6 years during Bill Clinton's time in the White House and spending continued to increase (although no where near Bush levels, and there was actually a budget surplus).

True, I am mainly looking at the national scene, but since we are in a national crisis, it seems appropriate. My sample size is my lifetime, seems big enough to me.

Myth: Democrats are spenders and Republicans want small government
True, although President's do submit their budgets to Congress. Agreed This is where you lost me. This is that vague general sentiment that people throw out there and don't feel the need to back up with anything. There have been times when there was a Republican President and Republican controlled Congress and spending continued to increase. <Insert 6.5 years during Bush Regime here> Now, if you want to say "However, R's generally spend differently than D's." then I would agree with you.
