your move here in 3r Without knowing all the specifics like, average chip count, how many left, how far from the money etc: I see middle position raise from a relative short stack and believe the rest should be going in on any flop, LP makes it all-in to isolate the raiser, LP knows that he should be getting a call from the MP raiser. Can’t see LP doing this with AJ-, so you will be racing against a pocket pair 88+ or up against AK. I think it was a worthy fold. With your chip stack you don’t need get your money in on a 50-50 race or behind. Good fold. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:what's the right play? If you can be first to act and you push all-in you have fold equity about the only good thing you have left . hand 1 UTG all-in hand 2 depending on UTG if I push or fold, If UTG pushes and you follow both blinds have enough chips and the odds to call. I may chance waiting untill the next hand to get it all-in. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:77 in the SB..Facing aggressive opp. Don’t put 1/3 of your chips into the pot, without a plan. Don’t put in 1/3 of your chips pre flop then fold You are not deep enough to set mine. You were in an early position and need to act first on the flop, this is a big disadvantage against an aggressive player. If the plan was to force an aggressive player to fold, check his chip count before executing this move, deny villain the odds to call, villain is way deep and its an easy call with correct odd. In this instance the villain showed interest in the pot and raised pre, he may or may not have had a hand that was better than 77. ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:This spot always confusing for me... Not deep enough to set mine calling 120 is just not profitable in the long term with villain and your stacks, people still to act, will have to fold to a RR, if you call you will have problems continuing against any over cards on the flop and a bet. I would have to presume his range is reasonably strong UTG, AQ+ JJ+, he is risking a RR so 99- or A9- just doesn’t figure without a read so we need to push or fold. With two over cards it’s a race with an over pair you nearly dead. I can fold this. If I was MT and had this situation on 3 screens, I would fold 2 and push one. I know it doesn’t help ... Re:How to get value here? If he does not have an A or his own flush draw its going to be difficult, It is acceptable to check to the raiser but if he checks behind there’s no value to be gained.. Leading out with half pot bet is not a bad play, but your only giving 3/1 odds when you’re are big favourite I would have made it about a quarter to a third of the pot about 120-130 giving him 5/1 to call villain may also think your blocking looking to hit a flush or a str8, If he has an under pair to the A he may then put in a pot size bet. Re:Common spots I find myself in, how do oyu proceed in these situations? Fold or push Why you should not call: you have a week hand, you could be dominated, you will miss the flop most of the time, you don’t want to be putting a quarter of your chips with air, and your out of position against the raiser. Push: you have fold equity, it is squeeze play the button is possibly trying to pick up the blinds and raising light, the SB has enough chips to speculate with a good drawing hand but may not want to put in another $1400 otherwise he would have raised, neither player needs to play this hand, they have enough chips to go the distance. I favour folding because if ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Is this a good fold? I don't mind a fold here, you are out of position for the rest of the hand and villains money should be going in on the flop, he has committed over 1/3 of his chips. he could be easily in there with AQ AK 77+. I don't think his range will be any wider with an M of 10 from early position, even if you hit the A or J on the flop its still a hard call if all goes in, as your A's could be dominated by AK AQ your J against QQ KK. Push or fold, I fold. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:44, 6 max hand! UTG limp I am thinking PP 22-TT ATs+, AQo+, pre flop after the raise I am thinking 77+ AQ+, on the rag flop, his check then calling 1000 I’m thinking 77 88 99 TT all possible, but I lean towards 77 TT then on the river he hits paydirt, filling his stra8 or his trip T’s, I can’t see what JJ can beat that a solid player would bet in this spot. I can only find a fold. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Weird spot with JJ... He only has $1350 left. If he was deeper I would be more cautious but with half his stack already committed he should be calling with most holdings, I bet $750 to encourage an all-in and then call. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Help with a flopped set... This is alway going to be a problem, when the flop contains 3 of the same suite and you don'y have a high card of that suite, you have to prcoceed with caution, in this instance you have to presunme your up against a flush when the turn hits. It becomes a matter of maths and you had the odds to call with 10 outs. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:clueless on turn, help Position sucks in NL, looks like trips to me. We are only behind PP AA 77 88 & or 56, I would eliminate AA unlikely, 56 most unlikely, would villain call a check raise on the flop with TPTK AK AQ AJ A7 possible. Would he come over the top with trips on drawy board likely. Way in front or way behind. Outs A’s x 2, 8’s x 2, + 9 to nut flush 13outs. You are at worst 3/1 dog. Pot is $9900 you have $9300 behind and he has you covered, I want to see that river card more than anything else in the world. I suspect 77 but I have my doubts because he had an opportunity to push on a very drawy ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:How should I play against deep stacked players on a NL HE cash game? Effective stack is the answer, 100bb is a difficult stack to play when your against good deep stacks players with 250bb, they know you are raising 7-8% of your stack with big cards and are most unlikely to improve much from TPTK, they can call 2% of there stack with a wide range including suited connectors, splits, AXs small pais etc, hoping to pick up a big hand or draw, if they do they then get a shot at your whole stack. If you are going to buy-in on tables against big stacks, buy in short and play shot stack poker against them. I suggest buy-in for $50bb and try that for a while, but have ... Re:Another QQ situation, in cash game. What to do? Thinking I am out of position with a good starting hand QQ but its not KK AA, If I can limit the callers and the flop contains no over cards and no big draws I may commit. That’s my plan, I would raise between $1.85 -$2.50 pre flop depending on the table dynamics. If I got RR I would reconsider but may only fold to a tight player. I would have then pot bet the flop if RR I would have to think that I was behind and possibly fold. The problem here is that you did not show enough fortitude pre and only bet half pot on the flop, its unlikely the flop helped, villain is representing a big PP but ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Tough Spot with a straight flush draw Trouble with flatting here is you are giving odds of 3/1 for the others to join in and the will if they are holding a big club. I think you see trips a lot in this spot, the pot size bet leads me to think that he wants any draws to the flush to be a mistake, but he could also have the nut flush draw himself and is semi bluffing. I also think you have to push or fold. That decision would be dependant on what I have observed but to make desision without a read I fold. We are still sitting with a playable stack. Re:What would you do on the button here? This is the type of hand that you can push against the blinds, however you are up against the big stack and the short stack. I would be a little cautious because of this. the short stack should call with lot of hands that are ahead of JT. The big stack is only calling with a premium hand. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Tough river spot. $.50/$1 I think he thinks you don’t have an A and his slow played pocket JJ-KK are good. No draws hit, we loose to AT A7 A2 AK TT 77 22, but I don’t see A2 22 or maybe AK calling the flop, I doubt he does not bet AT A7 on the turn but then you did check AQ and I doubt that he does not lead out and value bet the river with any A, TT or 77 after you checked the turn. So we crush JJ-KK. I can call this Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Got owned in 10/10 NL--what did I do wrong? I've lost all confidence in my game. Something to think about other than your cards is how you appear to others at the table, the villain in this case is an older person talking stocks shares and real estate investments etc. He may think you are playing beyond your bankroll and is willing to test your resolve. hand 3 he did call with T7o and got lucky. Re:Am I a donk? with an M of 5 against 3 limpers you would have to think you were behind, it was either fold or push. Your table image and others must be considered, I don't see pushing as a great error if your reason for pushing was a semi bluff, If it was for value then you got it wrong.
