Berkowitz rides Brett Favre at Magic National Championship
summer 2004 I was ranked #1 in the world, had an insane run winning that tourney then top 8ing and/or winning the next 3 major tournaments I entered. But then I stopped playing magic for a while because of school and not a lot of tournaments, and then I got into poker and haven't played much since... going to try to do a pro tour or something this year, meet up with the old crew.

NICE CALL
nah not really I dont actually show the read hands because those give too much info away I could have reraised more preflop but I felt like he had a worse pair, didn't give him odds to draw with that reraise, once he called I was pretty sure he had a lower pair but maybe I shoulod have reraised a little more preflop anyway. This was just my first $1000 sit and go on party poker, I beat the stts on other sites pretty easy and felt confident I was not out of my league in these, but this was a bad experience for a first time. Anyone else who plays this regularly want to comment on the ...

Stop N' Go
that last example was perfect. The logic is overcards will only hit the flop 1/3 the time or so, and you will win when they dont. And if they have a bigger pair like 99, a bad flop like an A or J10 might scare them off

Huge 100NL Hand-Thoughts On My Play
I don't think you really have enough FE to make this play. I play kind of crazy, but I don't mind taking the lead when the pot is smaller and moving in over the top when I get raised, big power poker play. But in this situation, unless you bet the flop, I don't think you have the opportunity. I think the best play is to take one off on the flop, and the turn call is just a math problem. But also, if he isn't going to fight back, you could make a small lead on the turn to try to buy a cheap river card.

hand question...what to do?
Sorry elf for some reason I thought you were the bb and he was the button, I dont know why. I think in that scenario a push has to be correct. Here I think everyone is probably right, you want to let this one go

Whats's the best line to take?
joker, I think I call the turn. Some players play top pair like its the nuts, especially with a draw. I could be ahead. If I am NOT ahead, it seems highly unlikely for him to also have a higher club.

This hand knocked me out of the MILLION on PARTY
I would have moved all in on the flop. The board is too dangerous and it could look like a semi bluff if he has an ace. edit- I mean moved all in after he raised you. I would throw away A7 suited in 3rd position even if I was playing really aggresive, I would rahter have 78 suited or something -actionjeff

Was my play poor?
Not only would I push the AQ, I would push lots of other hands. It sounds like blinds were large compared to stacks. AQ is just a monster 4 handed in that scenario.

NO LIMIT TOURNAMENT QUIZ
I never would've checked in this situation at all. The board is far too dangerous because of the str8 draws available. However, having already checked with this hand... You should raise to 300. You're pretty sure the MP is going to fold anyway and you want to make the cutoff pay a price if he is drawing to a str8. I agree TOTALLY. Checking this flop is just ridiculous. It makes no sense at all. You raised preflop and an A hits. You can't possibly get away with a check raise here. But, as for people saying "if your friend is so good why is he raising A10 suited in early position, outplay ...

Anybody like this one?
I think my play ended up being the "perfect" play because I collected an additional 600 on a hand that everyone would have folded in deference to the A on the board. I hope ur joking. I dont think any decent player would consider folding this hand once its checked around on the flop and then thedean checks the turn. Maybe im mistaken though. I normally bet there on the turn, but if I have a read that the guy with position will likely make a steal bet if I check to him, then I don't mind checking there. So, easy call with all those checks on flop and thedeans on the turn, but good read to ...

How would you play this in this spot?
Unless your opponent is extremely conservative out of position... I can't fold this. You do have position on him so calling is not a terrible option, but I think I would move all in.

Good Lay Down??
I think this was a really bad fold. It seems very unlikely they would play a high pair as such. The odds you are getting laid make this an automatic call in my mind. There just doesn't seem to be a high enough chance of being beat, the situation definitely looks equitable. I also think you probably should have raised more preflop. 4x is pretty small after two limpers with 30 big blinds, I would raise it up 5x at least. -Jeff
