Unsure how to play this one, any advice? 1st hand of our regular home game. 5k stacks, blinds 25/50, 15 min levels. It's folded to me on the button and i make it 175 to go with 77. SB folds and BB calls. Flop 875 rainbow. BB leads for 200, i raise to 700, he 3bets to 1400. Any thoughts on ranges, and best plays would be appreciated. Thanks! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Deepstack, Long blinds SNG strategy adjustments? Our typical homegame is 5K stacks, blinds starting at 25/50, and 15 mins long. We are going to be playing a 10 - 18K (variable starting stack) 25/50 starting blinds, 30 min levels. I'm wondering what kind of strategy adjustments you'd make as this is still a SNG but allows a lot of patience as well as play. Any thoughts on changes in starting hands' aggression' making a stand' any and all thoughts would be helpful. Thx! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

55$ - AQ in 3bet pot If we don't think he's folding to a bet, check and hope for a freebie, might have to consider calling depending on what he bets. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

What do you do with this hand? my basic strategy here: bad position, small pot, check it. So i like your 20/20 hindsight decision. My guess is if he has nothing your call will freeze him. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Pair vs overcards --- tell me why this is wrong Yea, i've thought about this a lot since it has application in Omaha. In HE it would be more valuable i think with post flop play and putting 1 (or more opponents) on shared cards. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

25 PLO RUSH...Did I play this hand right? I'd prefer a call p/f. forget the C/R on the turn just get it all in. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Low PP in position Mid Stage Micro Right or Wrong Play? Yea, i don't like the way you played the hand at all. Your bluffing the entire way really, he saw your massive overbet as a bluff (which it was) and with his short stack he called to take a shot to get some chips. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Is this absolutely terrible? I don't hate the check on the flop, but i'd prefer just to bet it. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Is this a fold on the flop? How would you play it? I assume the idea by checking was to fold if he bet. I agree that the bet size makes him look pretty strong. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

88 SNG fold? Folding 88 here 5 handed is way to weak. As played is fine. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

should I have bet the turn? You can argue a check or a bet here depending on your opponent. If you've seen him fold to a 2 barrel then a bet has a big upside, if you've seen him C/R in this spot peeling off the free card is a much better play. he limped and then called a small raise so a 10 is a very likely card for him to be holding and would be consistent with a check call on the flop. If he did hold top pair on the flop it was still top pair on the river and his bet there (although large) isn't completely inconsistent with that possible holding. With that read, i check behind hoping to hit my outs. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Risky move with AK? buy in size aside - if you have any postflop playing ability this isn't a snap call, but it is a good spot to try to triple up for sure. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

pair and flush draw on the turn yea, no fold equity on the turn so you know your gonna have to hit to win. why no cbet' you were the p/f raiser. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Deep in this one at stars. Should I have rerised here? With antes that big i'm much more inclined to r/r and win it preflop. I don't hate the smoothcall though. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Tricky decisions UTG hand 1 seems like a slow play, and he wants to get paid off on the river. hand 2, looks like a fold to me. Your min raise doesn't do much to help define his hand. A set is very possible. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

aq middle early shove- cant get it out of my head I like to have a read here, but i prefer raise over call. I sometimes like to call here though as it really disguises your hand strength, you get the guy behind you with AJ or AT instead making a raise the limpers play enough to make it +ev. Jam w/ATo? Your stack is a bit awkward. If you raise 2.5x are you folding to his reraise' I think you have a bit too much to move all in so i like the smaller raise myself. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Can anyone tell me if you agree with this call? I obviously went to steal! Disagree with his preflop call. Agree with his flop call - with is reasoning, he put you on 2 big unpaired cards on that flop and he connected. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Any way to fold here? Yea you can fold this. I see this move a fair bit. trap, trap, then massive all in move hoping it will look like a bluff and he'll get paid off since his slowplay failed. Insert "never go broke with one pair" quote here. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Easy Fold? FTP $2 2 table turbo SNG. Down to final 6, i'm in chip lead with about 6K, 2nd place is 5K. Villian with 5K, on button raises to 3xBB (1800) to open the pot. I'm in SB with QTo. I was really indecisive on what action to take. Any advice' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Hand advice. Tell me what you think. Seems like UTG +1 wanted to see a flop, got an all in move that seemed weakish and called hoping for the race. Button, i prefer just calling and seeing a flop in position. UTG +1, as long as he had a plan for the full hand i don't mind the limp. I don't like the button overshove. Agree with above poster. Re:KJs vs bigger stack limp with 18bb read dependant IMO, have you seen a showdown after he limps in this position' only 6 handed i think a raise is certainly ok - most people would disagree but limping here isn't horrible. You have position on the limper and if you can drag in the blinds your hand plays decently multiway. I like seeing flops though so maybe i'm a little biased. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Call here or Fold? I wouldn't rule out AA here, but it's a horrible way to play it. flush draw definately a possibility. I call, but i don't feel great about it. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
