Thursday Action Plan: Tell the DoJ, IL Gov. Quinn & CO Gov. Hickenlooper to back us!
Hey Rich....just a quick question, but what about posting on the White House and President Obama's facebook pages' I'm sure that if the President knew he wasn't getting the votes from the poker players (especially since his reelection looks to be in jeopardy), then he might actually try to reign in the DOJ, and allow poker in the U.S Just a thought'

hmm promising news or what?
Dan, you make it sound like the poker players are a minority group. 2013 seems too far away before poker gets approved, and here is my reasoning. - With the economy tanking and alot of players posting on Facebook how internet poker would increase revenue, the lawmakers will give that serious consideration. - Elections coming up....I believe the next President (I don't think Obama will win again), will probably pass a bill to get poker going (I wouldn't be suprised if it happens sooner). - The states are hurting financially, so they want some way to generate revenue, and the casino's are for ...

How far below all in EV can you go before you question the validity of a site?
====================================================================================== I would have to say that the outcome isn't predetermined, because the human element is a factor. Whether or not it actually is scripted, I guess we'd have to know who programmed it' I remember one tourney (a Sunday 1/4 million), where 29,700 people entered. I ended up getting KK and went all in. A guy called with A Q, and the flop came out Q Q A, and I thought "I'm done". But the river card came out a K, which gave me a higher boat and I won the hand. Very dramatic, but alot of hands are "very dramatic". ...

It's funny, but for a while, I thought pokerstars would punish "aggressive" players (who went all-in after the flop), because whenever I did (AA, KK, etc), I would lose. But I change my mindset from looking at conspiracies, to figuring that if I went out, it wasn't going to be because I had crap cards. Just an aside though, but I never thought pokerstars was "rigged", however, I believe it may be "scripted". The human element adds the extra difference. For example...if you had 9 players, an the following cards are dealt: Player 1: Js Jc Player 2: Kd Kc Player 3: 8h 8d Player 5 9h 10c Now ...

Future of Online Poker in the USA
States run the lottery...not the government. In Texas, the premise was that the lottery would be used for "education", but now the money goes into the general fund and schools are being shut down left and right. I want to play poker, but I want to play it on a reputable site. I think Harrah's and/or any other big casino would be more trustworthy than one run by the government (imho). Because a sites name has a "monetary" value. Look at Full Tilt Poker and pokerstars for example. After Black Friday, Pokerstars did pay everyone back and Full Tilt hasn't yet. If the U.S. players were allowed to ...

How to play AA here...
Just my 2 cents...but I play to "make the money" first, and then once I do that, then I play to try to win. Since you said there was 11 players left and the money was at 10 players, I probably would fold in that instance (while going "grrrrrrr" at my computer screen). If the money had been reached, I would've called.

Never seen, strangest beat - rigged?
I usually look back at my hand and how I could've played it differently. For example, with AA, should I have shoved all-in from the beginning' Would the guy have called' (I would say probably). So then I don't feel bad because no matter how I played the hand, the other guy would've gotten lucky and won. And at least I didn't go out with crap cards. That's just my two cents.

How much more can I take??
I usually played tourneys on PS and got my share of bad beat stories. But I tend to look at the positive. I remember one tourney I was down to 2K chips and in about 400+ place and had to go all-in on the blinds. I won and then 2 hands later got KK and won. I waited and went on a tear and finished the tourney in 5th for $1898 on a $3 R/A tourney. I actually wish I could play on pokerstars right now....heck, I wish I could play on any legit site right now.

Article: Inside the Joe Barton Internet Poker Bill
raisethis2....that's what I'm worried about also. Even though the bill was put forward by Congressman Barton (TX)...the governor of Texas (Rick Perry) is a total asshat, and I wouldn't put it past him to try to block Texan's from playing.

Article: Joe Barton Online Poker Bill Nearing Introduction
I can't remember where I read it, but I read somewhere that when online poker was going to get passed, sites like Pokerstars, etc. would be put on probation and players couldn't play on them for a year or so. I'll try to look up the original article this weekend if possible. At the time, it made sense to me, since I saw it as the U.S. "blocking" out the competition, so they could get a stronger foothold onto the online poker market.

I expect them to pass it fairly quickly, but put a restriction on U.S. players from going back to the sites like Pokerstars, etc. That sucks, but I'm going to have to settle for what they give me.

The Dream
" I personally felt like my game was really entering a higher level before black friday hit. 4 of my 5 biggest career cashes came in March or later. My backer had just allowed me to start playing the 1k Monday. FTOPS and SCOOP were right around the corner. After years of playing and working on my game I really felt I was getting close to the level of a lot of the players I've really come to respect. Poker wasn't something that came easy to me but after a lot of hard work (and lots of soul searching too) I got to the point where the game was really making sense to me. ...

The Dream
Hi...1st post. I like Pokerstars also, and I believe that even though the Wynn Casino/Pokerstar merger may have fell apart, it will come back into play once it appears that poker will be regulated. I always played on Pokerstars and would go back to them in a heartbeat like other posters. Their interface was alot nicer than alot of other sites, and I never had any problem with their transactions. If I had one "gripe" about them, it would be how long it took my funds to clear. It would clear my back within a couple of days, but take 10 days to clear on their site. However, cashing out money was ...
