Play a live hand from Cherokee with me... This is what I was thinking too...looked like he was trying to iso the tight guy on my right...he seemed to know that I "could" make that play based on my stack size...I will give results eventually even though that's not the point of this spot...I'm just wondering if this is a good enough spot to get a top 10 stack or fold if I've been controlling the table for the four hours previous...I still don't think there is one right or wrong position, just want some opinions to see if this is situation where chip accumulation overwhelms the factor of continuing to pick off soft spots and coexisting ... Play a live hand from Cherokee with me... So, we are playing the Sunday 365 ring event at Cherokee which has been getting great field sizes for a circuit event... Anyway, we are up to 36.5k which covers the table at 25 200/400...new Asian guy is villain, no reads as he just sat four hands ago...he sits on 51k... He limps under the gun, folds to cutoff (tightest guy at the table, 22k), he raises to 1250...I has QQ on the button and raise to 2875...new Asian dude rips it in for endless biebers, old guy tank folds, we tank for over four minutes until villain calls clock and we...fold or call in this spot' Chip average at the time ... From Low Stakes Donk to......? First replay in a long time so maybe this is off. I have switched to live since BF and the ranges might be different from those online these days. I'm a nit so I'm going with JJ+, AKs for the reasons you described from the shover. If he had a more active image and I had been super aggressive pre, I prob call 10's....pretty shitty spot for me so I can't wait to see some responses....refer to the "Grindier" thread in OT for inspiration during your journey. What you remember about online poker Another one for you lowstakes guys...love this thread...really brings back some memories Favorite Online Poker Memory: 2 biggest scores within three weeks of each other in May of '09. 2nd in the 35k guarantee for 5100+ and 2nd in 18k guarantee for 3300+. The second one was probably my favorite because Lab Rat shipped it and Big Huni finished 3rd, and I called my boss to say I would be 45 minutes late for work since it didn't finish til 845am...Damn I ran good...haha Worst Online Poker Memory: Playing on JetSetPoker in June of '05 I think...had 6000+ BR at the time and was 1/12 in a tourney ... North Carolina Players... Harrahs Cherokee Casino If you like playing 1/2, then Cherokee is not a bad place if you don't want to drive to PA or WV...3 hours from Greensboro and many regular faces at the tables. I usually try to go once or twice a week, probably more now that online is gone. Lots of stations that will pay off your monsters. I was getting in about 45 hands/ hr in my 50 or so visits. Strangle them post flop, profit, repeat...unfortunately they don't spread many other games (sometimes the occasional 2/5 opens, but nothing larger I've seen) although I heard MTT's are in the works. Full Tilt and Pokerstars Domains Seized First post in this thread and I've got to say I feel just like the day when JetSetPoker popped a message up in the middle of a tounament that said "Due to new regulations, JetSetPoker will be closing in ten minutes; Thank you for playing with JSP and we're sorry for any inconvience". That was UIEGA and suddenly I was out an significant amount to me, around 5500. That money was never replaced because from what I understand, they were operating the site out of Las Vegas using the British Virgin Islands as their location.
