Live mtt tipping at casinos that already hold back % for staff Places that offer dealer bonus' like that are great for both the player and the dealer. The player pays more for more chips, the money goes to the dealers only and it solves the entire problem. Posted in: Poker Community |

Live mtt tipping at casinos that already hold back % for staff I don't think there is anything wrong with this. I completely understand why people don't tip on top of the 3% taken from the buyin. I believe earlier in this thread as well as other threads on p5 i have read a lot of posts about not tipping because a) 3% is taken out for dealers and b) a lot of the dealers are bad at dealing. The points that i wanted to make was just that in most cases half the 3% is going to the dealers. Also, if an individual doesn't want to tip then that is there own decision. HOWEVER, deciding not to tip at all pushes good dealers away from dealing these types of ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Live mtt tipping at casinos that already hold back % for staff "Are you serious' You don't "deserve" shit. No one is obligated to give us anything. Our job is to make sure the game flows smoothly, and take rake for the house. If we get tipped, it's a bonus. And lol at "it's tough on the back"...cry more. We sit in a fucking chair all day and throw cards to people and make good money. STFU. It's dealers like you who cost me money." If you think that getting a tip in the poker dealing industry is a BONUS/NOT CUSTOMARY you are without a doubt the ONLY US dealer in the industry that feels that way. Considering that 75% of our income comes in the form of ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Live mtt tipping at casinos that already hold back % for staff i think for big tournaments .5%-1% is fair and pretty standard, not 2%-3%. The only time i see a tip that size is someone who is a dealer/tip industry or they are just naturally generous. By no means should dealers expect to get that size of a tip from a tourney winner. Live mtt tipping at casinos that already hold back % for staff There are multiple rooms in vegas where the TD gets $1-$2 per entry out of the 3% that goes to the dealers and anything that says STAFF includes Floor as well at some rooms. It just depends. My point is that I by no means think people should be shelling out a big chunk of their winnings for dealers. I just think people should sit and do the math on some of these tournaments. the 3% can be a lot for big tournaments like at the WSOP but in the end there are so many people that are getting a cut out of that 3% that it ends up being a small amount to each person. Dealers don't get rich dealing ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Live mtt tipping at casinos that already hold back % for staff First off Kev, i'm not sure what school you went to but you should go back and learn how to read. My post clearly says there shouldn't be a tip for small pots. Also, i'm not sure who makes $60 an hour dealing poker in any Las Vegas casino, so I would say you are full of shit and clearly manifest reasons to not tip dealers. I will not disagree with stiffing bad dealers, and there is nothing wrong with $1 tip no matter how big the pot and a good dealer will still appreciate it. If I am a cry baby because i don't like know it all assholes like yourself thinking you are above the dealer ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Live mtt tipping at casinos that already hold back % for staff I am a dealer and yes we go to dealer school, and yes we do know what income to expect. It just so happens that poker is in the tipping industry and it is 75% of our income. I will by no means expect to get a big tip ever, but most dealers deserve $1 a hand (unless it is a small pot). And to say we don't deserve it is ignorant. We deal for 3-4 hours straight which is tough on the back since a large percentage of players think they are only obligated to put their bets out 5mm over the bet line. We have to deal with assholes yelling at us because of beats they get, people throwing cards into our ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Full Tilt and Pokerstars Domains Seized Assuming that the PPA could gather enough people to do so, why has there not been a discussion of holding a peaceful protest on the steps of the congressional building' I know it seems silly but think about it. 20-40,000 people standing on the steps of congress will create a lot media attention and in one way or another force our political leaders to acknowledge that this needs to be discussed. Think about it though, a crowd of people that fit inside most professional stadiums, all in front of Capitol Hill. It would be a powerful statement, I think. It just seems like sending letters to our ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

The mathematics of poker - has anyone read it properly? if you were just OK at math don't bother getting too deep into it. It goes over some pretty messy statistical data and if you dont have a solid background in various areas of mathematics and statistics you will more than likely get lost. Im not trying to say you aren't smart enough. I am a chemistry major with a ton of stats/physics/math classes under my belt and i found it pretty deep and difficult to swallow at times. But give it a try, what do you have to lose.. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Fulltilt late registration So i know that fulltilt makes you wait for the blinds to come before you can play when you register late. So i just bought into one of their multi-entry tournaments. In both tables i was behind the button, however, in one i got a hand and the other said i had to wait. Am i missing something' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Attention Full Tilt Poker(FTP) users, advertisers, users, sponsors, and executives i read it briefly but did notice one thing that may need some clarification. You say you started playing when you were 19, and you are now 20. However, shortly after you say this you mention having been playing for year(s). miss click'' Posted in: Poker Sites |

Short-term tilt control I'm curious as to what some of you do to control your tilt short term. Generally speaking I am not one to stew over a beat for more than 10-20 min, and then after that I am fine. So for that 10-20 minute window while I am still playing do any of you have a plan to deal with it' I am certain that a common response would be fire up a joint, but I'm not into it so any other advice or methods that have worked for you would be great. Micro SNG's In my last few sets i began to add more and more 18man turbos. I felt like they helped get me over the hump a little bit i guess. As for the 45 mans, i dont really have too much of a desire to play them as much. I still add a few but def. not going to put any volume in on those. At what level would you say the rake isnt as big of a factor' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Micro SNG's I have been doing a little bit of a trial and error with micro SNG's, but i have some concerns with the rake. It seems like a lot of the micro level games online are tough to beat with the rake, whether it is really true or not. Can anyone who has put in some decent volume at micro SNG's give me some numbers from their time grinding these levels' I have been 20-25 tabling so volume isn't a concern. Should i be shoving this? This is a common spot that im not sure what to do with. It folds to me in LP and i have Ax with 6.5BB and from this point on in the tourney there is no pay upgrade unless i win a seat to the PCA $700. What kind of range can i call with here? ok so the general concensus is that 77 or 88+ and AJ+ is pretty close to a decent calling range for this hand. Now, what if the guy has 25-30BB after a few limpers like this hand. How much does this effect my range given that it now looks like it could be a steal to take the pot right there' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

What kind of range can i call with here? I haven't really seen anything from this guy specifically but the table has been a bit nutty. A lot of jamming light and calling even lighter. As you can see its a $3 tourney. In general when i see someone shove like this i automatically exclude AA,KK. Im not sure if thats a leak or not in these large field micro tournaments but i see more people try and get crafty with those two hands than just outright shoving. Playing against a min raiser what is the best way to play against a min raiser' I feel like calling any two cards against them but at the same time im not sure if its +EV. I know a lot of times the snap min-raise is usually a big hand, but preflop i am seeing tons of people min raising from all positions, yet when i re-raise its usually an auto-call. Stacking off i have noticed that people are stacking off lighter and lighter over the last two years(i know its probably been longer but i havent played many tournaments before that time). I remember when J10 was the hand to gamble with but more and more i am seeing people go crazy, all-in pre with 76,45, 96. Just wild, loose gambling no matter how many BB they have. easy fold with JJ?? yeah, i just could put him on a hand i was way ahead of. AK and AQ were the only two i was technically ahead of and i wasnt going to love it. I just think that if the board comes small cards i am still going to face a tough decision, and it may only be false hope if i assume he has AK. However, i dont claim to be the best at this game so i am just looking for some thoughts on this situtation. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
