Re:Is this a statistical anomaly? The past has nothing to due with the present. My question is regarding being dealt 450 hands, and the best hand being 77. Just wondering math wise if it statistically abnormal. I am not complaining, just wondering. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Is this a statistical anomaly? On Pokerstars, the last 450 hands I've been dealt, the best hand I received was 77 (4 times). Is this way beyond the standard deviation of expected hands to be dealt' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Full Tilt - E-check deposit security concern I noticed on the E-check deposit option, when depositing funds, the interface does not ask for any identification security measures, such as a SSN. This concerns me because if my full tilt account was hacked into, funds could be stolen from my checking account. On Pokerstars, I have to enter my SSN before I can deposit. I downloaded a virus on my laptop last night, sometype of spyware. It got me thinking, if somehow my log in/password to full tilt is stolen, all someone would have to do is deposit to my account via E-check, and dump the money on a cash table. Bye bye checking account. I ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): KEM Cards Actually I have one double deck set that i bought from KEM just as the plant was shutting down a few years back. In fact when I called to check on my order, the gentleman on the phone informed he was sending me what was one of the very last packs they had in stock because KEM was selling out to USPC (this is how I learned of KEM selling out to USPC). I used this deck one time, and havent used them since. I bought a few decks of the new KEM from USPC, but they arent the same, IMO. Anyways, I wonder if these original cards are worth more than the $40 I paid for them. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

KEM Cards Anyone know where you can buy an original deck of Kem Arrow Wide Size Regular Index playing cards. Original meaning not made by USPC, but by KEM. I wonder what is the market value of a double deck of these original cards that are no longer available. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Official Cardplayer.com WSOP Coverage Sucks Thread The old coverage included pre-tournamentt commentary such as field size, approximate starting times, notable players in the field, etc... And the updates were given more frequently, there seems to be lack of content this year. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Any of you play at work? Try playing SNG's at Full Contact Poker. They have a java client that doesnt require a download. You just click and play, and the best part is that the window does not pop up on your screen when it is your turn to act. I usually open multiple Excel, Word files so that my task bar on the bottom is so full that it creates another task bar of files that you have to click a page turn arrow to see them, and then I open the poker window on this 2nd task bar and if anyone walks in, I simply click to the first task bar of files, therefore no one can even see the java icon on my task bar. Re(1): PokerXFactor.com Subscriber Tournament: WSOP Prelim Seat Added Mindwise, I think the added bonus is a great addition to the subscriber tournament. I have a question for you though. When you sent out corresondance to members during the previous tournaments, you asked that subscribers not share the password that is used to register. I suppose this means that besides members not "leaking" the password to non subscribers, there is no other method you could use to limit the tournament to subscibers only, is this correct' If so, does this mean that if a non-subscriber was to win the tournament, would they still be awarded the WSOP package, or would you give ... Dealer-less Poker at Hollywood Hard Rock Casino I visited the poker room at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Fl this past weekend and saw something for the first time ever. They had poker tables that had a large LCD screen in the center, and and small LCD screen in front of each seat (10 total I believe). Basically your hole card are dealt to your screen and the community cards are dealt on the large LCD screen. Has anyone played on these tables before' i didnt have the chance, but they did strike up the curiosity. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): PXF SNG Tactics really piss people off...... If I am burgamasta, I think the correct action is to fold. 33 is not going to dominate much, so at best you are flipping a coin for 43% of you stack while in a commanding position on the bubble. I would rather fold 33 there so i can push with any 2 cards next hand. With that large amount of chips and while being on the bubble, you can really push around the smaller stacks. No need to call an all in that large and call heads or tails. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Party step tourneys Yes, original one table where step 1 = 11+1 I quit playing party poker for a long time, because after I cashed out that $8100 I couldnt win a hand to save my life. It almost became comical, where I would consistently get my chips in as a favorite, and the ineveitable suckout ensued. For the longest time I bought into the "cashout" curse. Good luck, are you going to start on step 1' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Party step tourneys Hey Shaaarrrp, Last March within 3 weeks I took 1st($4500) and 3rd($1800) twice. All three times I began on step 1. I thought I was on my way to poker riches, but after those 3 cashes I couldnt do it again, although I did make it back to step 5 several times. Most recently (about 2 months ago) I decided to give them a try again and made it back to step 5, 2nd hand I get AA and I raised preflop and some player pushes me all in holding 1010 and he rivered the 10, GG me. Steps 1 and 2, especially step 1 seem to be crap shoots, but step 3 and 4 being that they send 3 and 4 players to the next ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Considering quitting day job to play online poker F/T Thanks Blue, and everyone else for your mature and insightful replies. I have somewhat of a "safety net" to catch me if i were to fall (or fail), and if I need to go back to the corporate world, I dont forsee obtaining a position like I currently have being difficult. All of you bring up great points, although it would be nice to hear some more success stories like Blues. Who knows, I might try it, and in the small chance it works out then so be it. Re(2): Considering quitting day job to play online poker F/T Salary will continue to rise, but the average merit increase each year is 3%, so without a promotion, the increase isnt much to look forward too. I can get heath benefits thru my wife's job, but I have considered the retirement benefit loss and I guess that is something I couldnt do anything about. Considering quitting day job to play online poker F/T I am considering quitting my day job where I am compensated with a $45K a year salary so that I can stay home and make a living playing online poker. In order for this transition to work I would need to make in winnings what I made in salary, $45k, which equates to an average net profit of $126. I would love to hear from anyone who has or knows someone who has tried to make this move. Do you think $45K is a reasonable goal for someone who plays solid poker, but by no means is a tournament pro' I usually play $30+3 SNG’s and it is not unusual for me to take down 3 in a row, but then again ...
